The fact that Andrew’s Peter got visibly emotional after he successfully saved MJ from falling, was easily the quickest yet most powerful moment for me. You can tell how much he’d clearly replayed Gwen’s death in his head thinking about what he could have done differently and if that would have been enough to save her. And then he actually gets to act on it. It was beautiful.

The most I've ever cared about Tom Holland's Peter Parker was during that final sequence, in which everyone he knew forgot that he existed. That's the kind of thing that the Tobey Maguire movies did so well: they gave Peter a really hard time, constantly putting him in positions that made you empathize with him. And I finally felt that with Tom's Pete.

I was so excited to see Tobey and it was absolutely incredible to see him again.. but I gotta say. Andrew Garfield. Wow. I don’t know if I’m reading too much into things but to me his defeated nature and low self-esteem felt like a reflection of his franchise ultimately failing on top of being just ripped to shreds over the years. So the sheer amount of love and respect this movie gives Garfield was a class act. I mean you literally have Toby Maguire, not only the OG Spider-Man, but the OG super hero that paved the way for Marvel and all other super hero franchises to be what they are today, telling him how amazing he is and that he needs to hear it and take it in.. just wow. That was the best part of the film for me.

I didn't like the Tobey and Andrew Spider-Man movies; I would have preferred if he fought alongside Miles and Daredevil, but I rolled with it. I liked the lab scene the best because Peter's supposed to be smart, but doesn't pursue a career in chemistry.

@sandal_thong8631
@sandal_thong8631 2 жыл бұрын
@@ShayneRawls I tried watching Blade (1998) this week, but fell asleep halfway through. Superheroes on film go back to the movie serials of the 1940s. George Lucas came up with Star Wars when he couldn't get permission to do Flash Gordon. He then teamed up with Stephen Spielberg for Indiana Jones but never did a superhero film, unless you count Howard the Duck (1986) which is above Blade on Wikipedia's list of films based on Marvel Comics. Maybe Blade paved the way, but I think X-Men (2000) is generally considered what launched Marvel Movies, and of course Iron Man (2008) launched the MCU.

Have to disagree with Tobey and Andrew not feeling like themselves. To me they felt like evolutions of the same character. Tobey was still that awkward Peter only this time he’s older, wiser, and so full optimism while being awkward. He felt just like I imagined an old Tobey Spider-Man would. Andrew felt like someone who was hurting and still trying to find new purpose a bit jaded and lonely and meeting the other Spider-Men helped bring about a joy of companionship that he was clearly missing and needed.

Exactly. They weren't pulled right after their movies ended. Their stories continued on past that point. I understand your thoughts on how Tobey's Spider-Man should've been the one in charge and calling the shots, but there's something they clearly pointed out in the movie: not only is this Tom's Spider-Man's universe, the other two Spider-Men have no idea about how to work with a team. We even saw them visibly messing up by getting in each other's way. Tom's Spider-Man had the team up experience, so he'd have a better insight of how to function as a team. So with that experience, plus it being his universe, Tom's Spider-Man being "Peter #1" makes sense.

Andrew's Spiderman saving MJ from falling had me and the theater in tears out of nowhere. Probably the best acting in the entire film, and it came from someone I didn't expect it to come from. A redemption that truly felt like the person could finally be happy again. Even though I read like 2 weeks ago from someone on Reddit predicting that exact scene (including Tom getting interfered with while trying to save her and Andrew being the one to do it). It hit harder than I thought even going expecting it.

Garfield basically said in an interview a few weeks back… “I’ve got to be better at my job than you are.” They we’re trying to weasel spoilers out of him, and he wasn’t biting. Actors are professional liars. They have to make you believe what you see from them is real. I think Andrew Garfield has every right to be very very proud of his work in this film. His acting chops have refined in the past few years, and he obviously had a great time coming back to this character. He had some great moments. I think his Spider-Man is tragic because he continues to be alone, and he infuses that quality so very well into what he presents. I loved his hair, too. 😍 I’ve not even seen the second film of Garfield’s. I only saw the first one once. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What I absolutely love is how No Way Home is also continuing the stories of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man. The film doesn't forget what happened in the previous Spider-Man films. That moment when Doc Ock grabbed the Arc Reactor and said "The power of the sun, in the palm of my hand", that's exactly the reaction I wanted to see in the film. Same goes for Andrew's Spidey saving MJ callback. The reunion between Doc Ock and Tobey's Spider-Man was 17 years after Spider-Man 2. Seeing them share a scene again as their characters brought back my childhood.

DISSAGREE: I do think Tobey and Andrew were acting a bit different than they did in their solo films but remember, they weren't just back, they were transported into another reality meeting their multiverse selves. I don't think you can judge their entire personalities on how they act in that scenario. That being said, they still seemed happy to be there and the chemistry between Peters was on point. It is so surreal seeing the three Spider-men together on screen that It will always feel like its an SNL or parody to some degree. But I felt the film did an unbelievable job giving them all good moments, having real chemistry like they are brothers, good humor, and not feeling awkward or forced. The scene when they all swing together and land was an all timer. I don't think Goblin got the better of Peter. He stabbed him while he was stopping Tom Peter from murder. I didn't think Tobey looked weak in that moment. It was a typical evil villain moment.

I thought Andrew hasn’t missed a beat as Peter Parker. Of course not everything is how we want it but we have to remember that a lot was different when they were filming their Spider-Man movies as well as the fact that of course they’re going to be portrayed differently in a different universe even if subtle. I think if we expect them to be exactly how we remember them then we’ll be disappointed. People change and characters change, if I want vintage Spider-Man 2 Tobey then I’ll go watch Spider-Man 2. It’s sad that I haven’t seen no one talk about the scene after Aunt Mae died, and the Spider men went with MJ and Ned to speak with Tom on loss and how they are alike (but suffer different tragedies). You can hear pain and suffering they endured, but they knew in their heart that light is greater than darkness and great power comes great responsibility. I feel that is the most powerful scene in the movie.

What i loved most about NWH, is the fact that they got the emotions right. Its never been JUST about crazy action. Its about the heart of peter parker, his struggles to do the right thing. And this movie was ALL about that. It finally gave the MCU peter parker some actual gravitas. I loved it.

My eldest daughter also pointed out that we all got our Spiderman, I'd taken her to see 1-3 with Tobey McGuire and I'd taken my twins to see both of Andrew Garfield's Spiderman outings.

The leaks surrounding this movie were next level, it was crazy, and after the level of secrecy surrounding Infinity War and Endgame, it’s kind mind boggling how so much managed to get out. I can only imagine how amazing it could have been if we had no idea about any of it, even that the villains were coming back. It would have been mind blowing.

I really didn't expect to see Matt Murdock in this film largely because I didn't think he would work in the movie expecting that if he was going to be in it that he would have to be in multiple scenes. Straight up just didn't expect them to cover everything they needed to cover with him in just a single quick scene. It's really a testament to the writing for pulling that off and to Feige along with whoever came up with the idea to include D'Onofrio's Kingpin and reveal his appearance in Hawkeye the day before this film came out. Giving the characters an extra boost of exposure with so little time actually spent on them. Genius.
