You are the literal BEST teacher and instructor, and are SO kind to give us step by step for free. I’ve been wanting to begin my metal smith journey for like 4 years now, but I have a learning disability and get discouraged very easily in a public setting. So this video is the holy grail of what I’ve been searching for 🙏 thank you!

Nice video. The trick with the floss was new to me. I usually have an open backside on the pendants I make so I can push the stone out. Also it reveals more of the stone and saves silver. One thing I do differently is I put the pieces of solder on the outside of the setting rather than on the inside. For two reasons, it's easier to clean up and if some solder remains on the inside of the bezel, it can leave a little hump that increases the risk of breaking the stone when applying pressure while setting the stone. And I really like your saw, I've never seen one like that before.
@dianewoods1938 ай бұрын
I also set the bezel on top of the solder pellet that the solder fliws up the seam and doesn't blow away

Use a ceramic plate to make beads. No sparks. Angle slightly and beads will roll off to pick up tray. When alloying place lowest melting metal under or fold with alloying metal at lowest temp till low melting metal (zinc or tin) begins to liquefy and absorb itself (alloy) into the other metals then begin to increase temp and stir with stirring rod. 😉
