Meet The BZ10 Group Head
Bezzera is an Italian espresso machine maker that does things differently: they design their own internal parts, rather than buying parts from other companies and building their machines around them.
The BZ10 group head is Bezzera’s own design, outfitted with two heating elements and a thermostat. Not only does it heat up in under ten minutes (nearly twice as fast as E61 groups), but it stays well-heated for as long as the machine is turned on.
And unlike the E61 group, which uses mechanical parts to pull shots, the BZ10 is all electronic, meaning there’s zero required maintenance to keep it functioning at full power.
Pulling Shots With The Bezzera BZ10 Coffee Machine
Making espresso feels natural and smooth, thanks to the commercial-grade 58mm portafilter. The 1.5L heat exchange boiler offers a steady supply of hot water for pulling shots and milk steaming-which you can do at the same time. A 3L water tank continuously refills the boiler for non-stop function.

If I may say, I also have the bz10 (2021 production.) I use it in my small coffee shop for almost 2 years (pulling about 3000 double shot more or less), and the only thing that I need to replace was the portafilter gasket. Everything else still running perfectly fine, and adjusting the OPV is easy enough. This machine is robust. 👍

My BZ-10 has been my hero of the quarantine! What a reliable, fast, great coffee-making machine. I think it is the best value for money out there at the moment HX machine. In European version there is only one portafilter and the basket is on the bigger side and can very easily accommodate 22-25 grams which is too much. Since then of course I have realized that there exists a new trend of underfilling (18g) larger baskets. of course, I have a series of baskets that are interchangeable. Every morning after 10 minutes of heating time I can make two cappuccinos and two warm chocolates for my boys. All-inclusive it is the best purchase since heating times are Ferrari style! The all-round settings in terms of temperature settings means that I can easily use any coffee although I usually flush the machine if I have a lightly roasted specialty coffee for 5 or 6 seconds to drop the temperature from 93 degrees to 89-90. This is my inherent PID!

One thing I learned from owning many different machines the last 25 years, from Faema to Profitec and La Marzocco, is that the machine has little to do with the quality of your cup of coffee. Most quality machines will produce very good coffee. The grinder is WAY more important. The biggest difference between machines for me was ease of use and workflow. La Marzocco Linea is my favorite for this, and any E61 machine my least favorite. But that is very personal. Also, it's interesting to see that pretty much all parts inside the machines are identical. Controller boards, pumps, vacuum breakers, solenoids etc are all by the same manufacturers.

Excellent video again I like bezzera cause they have their own mechanical design for their machines(plus they have strega, my favorite lever machine) I can write many thing why I like bezzera, but I will say only for their own design for the grouphead, that creates its own temperature with the second element E61 in the past designed, by faema, to radiate heat from the large HX boilers of 11Liter+, and not to maintain it E61 are beautiful to watch, but apart from the long time they needs to preheat, I think that are totally unnecessary for single boiler and double boiler pid machines My 2 cents

Anything of a 58.3mm tamps will be great! Go with something that'll suit you setup look. Pullman have a great range, but equally a Ten Mile Tamp has what you need 👍

No, being a heat exchanging machine - you'll notice significant delays in it heating up if you have continuous back to back brewing - as well as the whole machine has not been made to withstand that sort of constant use - so everything from seals to washers etc , will wear much longer.

THe BZ10's OPV, over-pressure valve can be adjusted. Best to search the best way to do this. The OPV will control the maximum pressure of the machine. Lower it, and you can lower the pressure whilst brewing

Im a bit confused I like the BZ 10 but as well the Lelit V2 Maria X .It seems the heat up time is faster with the BZ 10 but the water pomp in the Lelit is less noisy and a rotary pomp. Im sure both make a decent Espresso.

Yes, you are correct, Apologies - if you remove the side panels thant eh sticker will break voiding your warranty. There is no other way to avoid adjusting the pressure from the pump - other than by getting an approved service technician to take care of it.

The benefit of a Double portafilter - is to brew a double espresso. This is the standard measure of coffee for almost all cafe standard drinks nowadays. The single basket in most cases - is redundant.

Yes, correct I would stick to 20g for espresso -"if" you're comparing it to Cafe's other than Italy. A majority of cafes around the world will be brewing with 15 - 20g of coffee. 7.5g for a single Espresso - means you should only be brewing around 20-25g out. Which is not alot of liquid - so with 20g of coffee - you can be brewing upto 40-50g and share this between two people No worries

If I were looking at ta commercial settings - Id at least want a Dual Boiler - otherwise the one boiler trying to keep up with brew and steaming is too much and eventually you'll have no steam and the water for espresso will be cold

Great to hear Wendy! In using the blind basket, remove a coffee basket fromt he portafilter first .. than add the blind basket. Add a small amount of Cafetto Evo Machine Cleaner ( or similar) and lock in to the group head ... turn the brew switch on and allow to reach full brew pressure and maintain it for 4 seconds .. than switch the brew switch off and wait 10 seconds ... repeat this cycles 5 or 6 times until all the chemical has passed from the grouphead back through the 3-way solenoid valve and in tot he drip tray - and this will ensure you get a thorough clean of your machine 👍

Is there a different manual around? The machine came with a plastic tamper, which size tamper is the best for it? I have 58 cm tamper. It seems slightly small for the job. Hey thanks for the video! I got a offer for a used BZ10 in good conditions. It’s build in 2019 and has make approximately 3000 espresso. Counting from the seller. It looks pretty good and had wooden Handels extra. The BZ10 was two times in professional service. It will costs 725€. The price of a new BZ10 ist actually 999€ on the Internet. What’s your opinion? Thanks for sharing! Unless you're a technician with time to go through the machine, and able to fix/replace parts as needed - there's no way of knowing the health of it. The Boiler could have extensive scale or pitting, depending on whether quality water has been used throughout its lifetime. Considering it has been used Commercially - I'd be scrutinising of the volume estimates. These machine technically are not built for commercial settings. For an extra 150€, you get brand new - with some sort of warranty I'd presume.

Hi Antoine, Thanks for your question. Importantly, I'm not a machine technician by trade. But experience tells me, that if you're not seeing or tasting any issues - only noticing the Gauge is acting funny, then it is most likely the gauge that is faulty - and nothing more. You can fix this by replacing the gauge - best done by a qualified technician - or it can be left with no major repercussions to the rest of the machine.

Far superior build quality, a lot faster to warm up and for my personal taste it is a lot better looking. The Mara X does have better temperature control but I'd still take the Bezzera personally.

My BZ10 boiler pressure has only 0.8 bar while it should read 1-1.2 bar. Is this adjustable?

yes 🙌 Extremely important - Do only a very small amount of adjustment, then turn the machine on, heat it up and brew a shot to check - this may take an hour or so , or can do it over several morning till you get it where you want it - unless you have a portafilter with in-built pressure gauge like this: alternativebrewing.com.au/products/pesado-t-p-d-temperature-and-pressure-device Remove the panels. Locate the Expansion Valve on the right side of the machine. Use an adjustable wrench to adjust the amount of pressure being cut down from the vibratory pump - counterclockwise will increase pressure at the brew group, while clockwise will decrease pressure.
