I’ve owned one of these machines for several months, and this touchscreen display is well-designed and incredibly useful. I use the touchscreen almost daily. All operations are very straightforward; no secret key combinations to remember! The machine has been a pure joy to own.

What do the strange icons above the temperature gauge indicate? Looks like 1) a cup of coffee 2) a banana 3) a "1" that's being heated and yet cooled by raindrops :) :) :)
@marshallgoldberg8376

It’s showing that one is the temp of the brew boiler and the other is the steam/hot water boiler.

@@marshallgoldberg8376 My question was about the icons above the boiler temperatures
@marshallgoldberg8376
@marshallgoldberg8376 3 жыл бұрын
@@KashNoorani Yes, I understand. The coffee cup icon indicates that the temperature displayed is the brew boiler temp, and the other icons are over the steam/hot water boiler. The screen resolution isn’t very high, but it’s an icon of “steam” (not a soggy banana) and hot water. Not sure why there’s a ‘1’ in the hot water icon, but that’s what it’s intended to mean. On a serious note, I have one of these machines, and this touchscreen display really does work well. On the other brands, you have to navigate using tap sequences to set the steam vs brew temp, the pre-infuse time, etc. Bezzera makes this easier than any other manufacturer, soggy banana icon notwithstanding.

@@marshallgoldberg8376 thanks for the explanation! I have the Duo as well and I really wish they had installed a higher-res panel; it's not as if this is a low-end machine.

Looks like you can adjust the pressure on the display. Is it possible the machine could later support pressure profiling with a firmware update, or is there a hardware limitation preventing pressure profiling on this machine regardless of the software? I'm debating between the Duo DE and the R59 Cinquantotto, but thinking the R59 may be better in this respect as I can go with optional flow control on that model. Thanks!
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cliff, Support for pleasure profiling on the Duo is very unlikely. Pressure profiling requires a way of modifying the pressure during extraction. That's typically done by controlling the pump speed or using a variable valve orifice prior to the group head. Neither of those exist in the machine. You can adjust pre-infusion timing on the Duo but that's different from modifying pressure. Hope that helps! Marc PS. Cinquantotto is 58 in Italian! :)

I’m going to disagree with WLL here… pressure profiling is available on the Lelit Bianca, and can be retrofitted to other E61 machines like the Duo MN. There’s a paddle lever attached to a valve which installs in the brew head. I’m not convinced about pressure or flow profiling yet, but I might upgrade my machine in a year or two.

Thanks for the video . how can i adjust the pump pressure ? i mean how can i set it to 9 bar ?
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 4 жыл бұрын
Hi d, You are welcome. Should come from the factory set to produce a max of 9 bar on the coffee puck. If off one needs to adjust the the OPV in the machine which controls max pressure. If not reaching 9 bar when brewing one needs to make the grind finer. But, reaching 9 bar when brewing is not critical. Little difference in extractions between 7 and 9 bar. Over 9 bar extractions tend to get bitter flavors. Hope that helps. Marc

Hi,i have a $3000 budget,can you suggest a good commercial espresso machine and a coffee grinder for a small coffee bar? Thanks :)
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 6 жыл бұрын
Hi R, Thanks for the question. My favorite budget commercial machine is the Gaggia TS: www.wholelattelove.com/gaggia-ts-espresso-machine We loan the Gaggia TS for latte art throwdowns and the baristas using the machine really like it! For a grinder I'd go with the Ceado E6P: www.wholelattelove.com/ceado-e6p-electronic-dosing-grinder-v2 This will make a nice pair that comes in under your budget.

I just recently bought a Bezzera Duo MN from WLL. If the machine is off you can access the a special menu for technicians and advanced users. What the crap is the password?
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 3 жыл бұрын
Hey BC and BC, First - be extra careful changing settings in the tech menu! Bad things can happen if PID, offset, etc. get messed up. For others who see this I strongly advise not going there unless you truly know exactly what you are doing! That said, the default is 1906

Is there a technical reason for not going up to about 20-seconds for the pre-infusion timer?

Hi Eric, 20 seconds is kind of long. Depends on the coffee.

I've done that, I've set the time to be the same and synced it as well but random times I goes back into standby mode, I've had so much problems with this machine, the guy/shop I bought it of won't take it back, the matrix pours the worst shot and constantly glitches out,. It was actually shorting out and tripping the power strait out of the box when I got it. The element terminals are on the bottom of the boiler and they were touching the frame of the machine? Really good engineering bezzera! It's a nice machine to look at but nothing but problems and try and get the bloody thing to stay on?? Wtf we're they thinking?

@@bensurfergirl83 I'm curious whether your machine was shipped to you... or if you picked it up from the seller. If shipped... the very best way for these Bezzera Matrix and Duo machines to ship is on a pallet. The issue is the internal components on these machines are really crammed into a tight space with very little clearance. As a result the slightest bump in shipping could possibly damage something internally and the parts bang into each other. Further adding to the potential for damage is the frame of these machines. Although stainless, the frames are not one piece, but actually made up of several different pieces bolted together like an erector set. As such the frames can flex and bend in shipping, especially if dropped! I believe WLL only ships these units on pallets for this very reason. In any event I hope you got all the issues resolved.
