Regarding a works lore, the lore is whatever is in the work itself. I will always go by this. Even if the creator says "well I intended for XYZ but I just couldnt explicitly make it happen" no. I dont care. If you couldnt put it in, it doesnt need to be in, its not part of my headcanon. And besides if you make the pre-requisite it needs to be in the work itself, then you are guaranteed it works within the lore. Like theres more of a commitment than an off the cuff comment.

@@Yipper64 This argument does not apply to games like FNF, where the lore is ONLY ever described by PhantomArcade and rarely ever (if at all) shown in game. By this logic, Boyfriend should be LITERALLY only a sprite in your headcanon. If the developer couldn't show a thing in a game or convey it, but still treats it as canon, then it's still canon, but it's canon that's unimportant to the game itself. It's fleshing out the character where the game couldn't. Besides, FNF didn't even need a story in the first place; it's literally a loveletter to Newgrounds disguised as a rhythm game.
