Great video, I'm actually using BF2 as a practice tool to get ready for BF3. I'm slowly getting better, but I'm using a joy stick and remaining accurate on small targets with the machine guns, at least when doing strafing runs is difficult. Hopefully I'll be able to perform bombing runs soon without crashing the jet or getting damaged in the process.

@Wadarec to know where the jets are in your surroundings. It's very useful and helps keep track of where the enemy jets are going.

Nice Vid, I think it's really important to fly with bombs all the time and only switch to A2A missiles at the perfect moment...on a lot of public servers you can just follow people for time without them knowing your lining them up, then suddenly switch to A2A. fire a volley of shots then they're dead. Also I find flying at around 400-500 almost at a sideways angle is best, keeping the ground in the one corner of the screen, at this height a lot of people don't notice you.

Question: does the speed of the jet play a role when it comes to launching missiles? I noticed that whenever I launch a missile at high speeds, it will not go. And also, does distance between jets play a role as well?

Speed doesn't really matter, however the distance does and the angle of the jet between your jet and the enemy jet is also important.

@Wadarec the mod AIX Extended puts "smart AI" into the game and they fly jets, but because of the mod they fly stuff like harriers and a-10 warthogs and stuff. but still good training, just google AIX Extended

yeah thad be interesting to know! I got sensitivity on 3 and the others on 10/10. On chopper I got all on 10. It all depends on your mous and joystick as well though!

Go to the map where bf2 is installed Battlefield2-->mods-->bf2-->localization--> (the language you have installed it my case english) english--> open it with notepad press: ctrl+f--> typ: you killed--> then change it to what ever you like. Be carefull with changing stuff :) I play on a resolution of 1680x1050 atm, but in that vid it was 1024x768

@barret89 I do nothing special to make fast turns tbh, but you just have to try some moves maybe higher sensitivity. I got used to it flying in flyby mode, just try it and practise alot, only way to get good at it

I was wondering does resolution really affect the game for good or bad? My native is 1680x1050 but my air game seems to suffer from it, everything seems slower but I can see alot more. But when I play on say 800x600 the game runs faster I can keep up in air and ground targets I hit alot easier too

cool,but id like to point out that low flying will also get rid of heat seaking misseles,i mean low low low,they make a slight curve upwards before they hit you.if your out of flares then head too low ground and bob n weave,it takes practice,very helpfull on wake island map.and to the guy practicing for bf3,boy are you in for a suprise m8,its nothing close too bf2...makes bf2 look like super mario brothers lol,bf3 is fast like a mofo

Stop throttling and let your jet come to a dead stop. It will start falling. When you're low enough, throttle back up to regain control.

When you decelerate, so going backwards, then it will hover. just play a little with accelerate and decelerate and you will manage to hover steadily. If that's what you mean.

If I recall correctly, you can't hover at extreme hights. An altitude of 100/150 is mostly the max. Higher is possible but asks more effort.

I think the matter of which resolution you have to use is just what you like to use, my screen supports 1680x1050 and it looks much better then when I would use a lower one. Just take the one you play on your best :D
