I've installed and activated my copy of BF2 LOADS of times over the years on multiple hard drives. You can also buy BF2 from plenty of digital and physical outlets like steam and amazon. Maybe when this game is 10-15 years old you wont be able to get a physical copy but that's about it (I think its around 7 years old now). It'll always be available somewhere digitally.

Indeed, the mod is very active, especially due to a lot of new updates coming out soon. (PR:Falklands, the 3rd DLC, comes out this Friday. PR 1.0 is in the near future, which will include a bunch of new stuff) Also, communities and clans create some cool events quite often, OD-S will have their zombie event close to Halloween, and a few other events within the next 2-3 weeks.

i have some questions.. i never played bf2. but this looks pretty awesome compared to bf3. however. do many people still play it? servers full? is it hard to get in the gameplay? are only clans playing? do i need all dlc ?

@spicytakoman: They are unarmed and are basicly medics with a grapple. You shouldnt shoot them because you get a huge respawn delay then. You can arrest them with restrainers or the buckshot shotgun which gives youre team intel.

The community is still really active. There are also sometimes 200 player servers. And they just released Project reality vietnam. The game is worth the price. Also no DLC needed.

What you're requesting is exactly what's in the game right now. The guy at the start of the video was probably only hit by a single round to a non-lethal area or caught some of an explosion, otherwise he would have gone down straight away. All I had to do was heal him a bit. The BF2 engine has a lot of limitations so a more complex system isn't really possible. And I'd hardly call PR theatrical. It's gritty, quite unforgiving and relatively realistic. Play it and you'll see.

@Trazhlol only can be done at supply crates. right click instead of left clicking for your new kit and it will come with the variant sight. e.g. the saw come without a sight. Rambo anyone?

Due to the BF2 hitboxes, jabbing them in that area is the most accurate way :P

I dont know if you know or not, But you can sight in on the Vheicals using the V key i think.. Its either the X, C, or V key.

Both are fun. It's easier to jump into Arma 2, but unless you roll with a clan you wont get an experience like you easily can in PR. PR is designed for squad play even with random players you've just met (like in this video). Arma scales things up a lot which is good but makes it harder to coordinate with a random group of players.

He is shot with a Shotgun, this is an ingame mechanic of "capturing" civilians apart from cuffs, because Civilians can throw rocks and radio in your position, if they would be at a spot you can´t get to, it would be hard to capture them for inteligence. So the Shotgun was turned into less lethal, and is now used to open doors and capture civies...

Yes, each map has 2 teams you can play as, just like in vanilla BF2

PR is great and as long as you're willing to talk on the mic and have basic tactical knowledge. Arma 2 is like the ugly baby only a mother could love. Some people love it (like me) but for a lot of people its the most unfriendly game ever :P. If you really can stand A2 then wait for A3 and in the meantime see how much fun you have on PR. Also bear in mind that in PR it can often take you an hour or 2 of terrible squads until you come across a good bunch of players who mix well together.

the only thing i like about arma 2 is the team work and the flying, flying planes was well done. Also paradropping with 25 other people out of a c-130 is REALLY fun

If you get critically wounded, this actually happens. You can give up and bleed out, however this punishes the team heavily, but it´s implemented to prevent dying in a remote location where noone can get to you and stare at the screen for 2 minutes untill you bleed out. Also, PR is hardly theatrical...in your first round of playing, you´ll probably die 10 times before you even SEE your first enemy.

PR is available for ARMA II still. I would recommend ARMA II any day if this is your line of play, it will grow on you. Check out some footage from either tier1operations (I am a member) or Shacktactical to see how it can be played. There are also a bunch of decent PvP clans out there as well.

I've never used the rifle but it seems dumb to me that he'd have to keep pulling the charging handle every time he re-equips it. Wouldn't he be wasting a round every time he pulls it?

Mine's mainly for office work, and I kinda need that seeing as how I'm going into TV Production classes now. That and I'm trying to get a Feature Length Film out, and it's a Sci Fi so I really need an office computer for what I'm about to do. Don't ask why I chose to do a Sci Fi for my first Feature Length film, because I have no idea either, but I'm sticking to it. I'll stick to my Xbox for gaming, and my laptop for TV Production.

The only game I've ever mastered installing mods on is CoD2, everything else is kind of a pain for me lol. I haven't played in a while but I'm sure many people still play. I think you can expect to have a few full (64 player) servers every day. You don't need to be in a clan or have DLC. You'll need to use a mic with a VOIP squad or you wont get the full teamwork experience. Usually I'd join a server and have to play solo for a while until a spot opened in one of the VOIP squads (or when you get more confident you can start your own squad). Also you'll want to read the manual before you start.

Not to bad :) tho you do need to use cover a bit more, you are doing okay don't get me wrong, but when you go around corners its quite bad, you go all the way around the corner, you need to do it so when you go around the corner you only need to look one way, also I saw you crouch on the little hills a fair bit, much better to go prone as your silloute is much easyier to see when it is crouched.
