@moffepolle Yeah also the SCAR in the game uses the 7.62mm NATO rounds so it kicks like a mother. I dont' use it too much unless its close quarters. Its no good longer range, its just too jumpy.

@DJBucca Do you live in the USA? Barrett 98B's only go for around 4-5 grand at most. And there are no permits required in most states. They're even legal in California.

@ryandpahl The M82 was dropped from Multiplayer along with any other .50BMG weapon. Its probably still in Campaign though.

Snipers are getting a whole lot of flack for not being "team players". I'd like to clarify that. Bad snipers should get all that flack; you keep up what your doing and win games for your teams. You are what a good sniper is.

@ryandpahl True about the assault, and the glare/laser blinding i guess makes sense. I find it irritating that you dont get a decent sniper rifle to start though, the sv98 is garbage... I used it in bc2 and i actually like it for drop shots but sniping feels much different now. The most kills in the recon kit I've got in recon have been with the ump45. And since i used to be a decent sniper, it stinks. Is it worth sticking with it until i get a good sniper?

@moffepolle Exactly. On Operation Metro where sniping was not needed quite as much as the map was smaller, I would grab (not the UMP-45, not my taste; there's no challenge to mastering it) the PP-2000 or one of the shotguns and immediately lay down that spawn becon. It's arguably the best non-weapon device in the game. On Caspian Border your would parachute in when using the becon so it takes away the stealth, but that's a perfect counter I think for using it. That would balance it.

@ryandpahl They seemed to reduce the scope glint a lot or at least it seemed that way on Caspian border I only saw one or to glints while looking at an enemy sniper. Also your videos are very awesome keep up the good work.

@ryandpahl True. I plan on becoming one of the "good" snipers when the game is released. Might make some fraps videos as well. I love the bf games, I live 10 minutes from where they make them in Stockholm. I should send them some cake.

I loved the M98B, the model for it was great and Im glad they went with the bolt action variation rather than a semi automatic. The only problem was the sound... it didnt sound like a .338 lapua, to chirpy.

@ryandpahl well on metro i realized that the laser helps to blind enemy at med range, the enemy's always seems to struggle before killing me, but when i was outside(med-long range) the snipers just had an easy time spotting me and no problems shooting me and also, this game is like MoH, if you get a longer range scope it gives you more damage, and if you get no scope you make almost noting(just though i put it out there) its stupid, i dont know why some one would think this is a good idea

@ryandpahl In the beta the M21EBR was the final unlock, but BETA is beta and its likely alot more things will be added. Even if they added the m82 I think Id stick to the M98B, not a fan of RoF over accuracy. The sound they used for the M98B was actually the same as one of the all kit weapons, but slowed down a bit (I did a few sound tests), So hopefully they actually put a sound that fits the rifle. P.s. Im totally not abusing the fact that your replying to my comments :P

Do you use the laser accessory for something specific or just for fun? I remember when I used it on any sniper rifles I would turn it off, then turn it back on while aiming at someone's face for the lolz and fun

@ryandpahl Nope, the .338 LM is the longest kill and it actually beat out a .50 BMG to get there. There isnt alot of info on the range of the 50 but but i dont believe it can get better than the 338 which can get out to 2000 meters before going sub sonic.

@ryandpahl Im not sure what you trying to say, but I do like cooperative Recons like I said that help their squads by scouting, covering, and spotting and everything. I just hate the ones that run off on their own and never do anything for anyone but rack up their own kills. I often use the M98B and I tag along close behind and cover them from high spots, and if we go into a building or a tunnel Im right beside them with my 93Raffica or G18 Supp.

@ryandpahl Almost a kilometer and that is awesome. I have no idea if the 338. bullet that the M98B uses can hit that far in real life. If they put the Cheytac M200 which has the longest range then maybe that would get you almost 2KM. I was expecting the Barrett M82 to appear in multiplayer but it's sad that it isn't. Oh well the M98B is good enough. I think these guys might put DLCs with more weapons.

@ryandpahl Right. I mean there is only so much 1 guy can do when there's 6 flags. I think that's a good tactic (it often works on me actually) and it ends up splitting the enemy in half and reducing their force to 2 fronts (or more). If you can do that as a sniper; great job. I'm glad they put in the W/L ratio in the front. I mean this might cause more rage quitting than I'd like but it's a good measure to show how much people work for their teams.

There are four bolt action rifles in this game. SV98, M40A5, M98B and the L96A1. When BF3 comes out you should make a video showing us the L96A1 and that would be awesome because you are an awesome sniper and getting one kill in BF3 is more satifying than 50000 kills in cod.

@ryandpahl Why is it that in bf2 no one seemed to really care if a sniper was a camper because that is what a sniper is but ever since cod4 came out it seemed like everyone hates campers. If you are skilled enough and you use cover you can take out the camper.

@ryandpahl That is would should be called extreme range sniping. It would be awesome because the 12X as i have played on the beta is not very zoomed in. If they put wind then it will be very difficult for far range. You will have to worry about the bullet drop and direction. The thing that i didn't like about bad company 2 is that you don't feel like a true sniper for some reason and not helping the team but in this game i feel like a true sniper and helping the team. Definetly game of the year.

@moffepolle Yeah the PP-2000 is pretty good, try the PDW-R when the game releases. The UMP I thought twice about after EVERYONE started using it. I just quit after I got the 100 kills with it.

I love all the classes but I do believe there should only be 1 Recon at most in a squad of 3 to 4. I'm always squad leader and I understand that players like to snipe but I really prefer when my friends are Recon because they are more cooperative. Its great when you can depend on someone covering you as you advance to objectives and Soflam enemies for Javelins and stuff. But, many Recon players become lone wolves that do whatever they want, those are the pathetic ones that give Recon a bad name.
