This is what I love about battlefield sniping. Taking time to make that shot and it's adrenaline pumping when your at a far distance trying to snipe a sniper that is trying to snipe you. It's like every shot counts for those moments. Great video!

I absolutly Love how much more realistic sniping is in this game, where you have to account for bullet drop, as where in COD it's just a contest to see who can scope in faster and shoot you.

Ryandapl OMFG i love you dude! I've always loved you since bf2. You were like an idol to me. I always wanted to be able to do what you could. You were a madman in bf2 sniping crossmap 'n shit. I'm finally getting close to your skill in sniping. I'm on Xbox tho :(. Still you make some epic shots in here, but i'm able to do most of em atm. But still Operation Métro is a lil' small to snipe in.

@anglevslich Beta and early BF3 versions were capped at about 950 meters max. The december patch allowed for longer sniping.

Man that's awesome. I've been working on my sniping. And people get pissed of at me cause thy say I'm camping and not helping. Dude when I play online I try to tell the people who have no mics what I see from the distance. I wig they understood.

yup, my longest in game unplanned real shot was 1525. you can get 2400 on wake island, but you have to wait a long time for it. My best planned shot is 1901. I have also tried for the 3250 max of the M98B as well, but it not practical at all. you have to set it up with someone who is willing to die for your record attempt

@camryt Gravity is not an easy thing to replicate, especially when you add virtual distance to the equation. So they crank up the "Bullet drop" to compensate for the forthcoming's of digitized space. 1000m in battlefield is probably about 400m or so in reality, thats just a guess mind you. You've always had to adjust elevation manually, and DICE has said that adding elevation and wind adjustment to the game would just be to much for your average shooter fan.

@AngerSwitch Check your Battle log page, it keeps track of the actual distance. In game you get rounded up or down. My longest shot is 974.6 meters.

seems that bulletdrop is different from rifle to rifle. could you maybe do a tutorial on every rifle and the bulletdrop it has (and the difference with supppressor if possible). that would be very helpful for every sniper. Also, I'm not sure, but does the bipod eliminate the movement of the scope? Looking forward to many more videos from you.

Could you please tell me your thoughts about Project Reality. In my opinion, it stimulates sniping the best - the distances are tremendous, the gameplay is realistic. What do you think about that game, have you played it?

@SakuyaFM were you using a suppressor? because that greatly increases the bullet drop. I noticed it with the m98 what would normally be half a tick was now 3-4 ticks.

I know theres going to be prestige in the game (since I almost prestige'd twice -.-) but that doesnt leave you much :\ Just feels like CoD minus losing all your stuff. The guns do come at a fairly nice pace, albeit a bit to frequently, if you use the SV98 to 4 stars youll unlock the M40A5, use that to 4 stars youll get to the M98B. Thats only 400 kills between each rifle, a tad to fast for my liking. But thats just me

@chack321 They put more realism into the weights of the rounds. Over a shorter distance the .338 lapua (M98B) requires more compensation, but the round actually travels further than that of a 7.62x54mmR (SV-98) or 7.62×51mm NATO (M40A5). A guide would indeed be useful for those who arnt familiar with ballistic mathematics, and Gotcha would be the ideal man to do such a thing. Id watch it purely to enjoy more content from him, seeing as I myself do alot of competitions :P

Question. But i'm a bit at a loss here. I see someone probably 700+ meters away, fire, and correct for elevation. Then start shooting. I'm seeing them drop on the person(however small). No hit markers. I am higher, trace clearly flies over them, lower. It hits the dirt. Whats going on here? Presently using an m110, of which I scored a 763 marksman kill a couple games ago. Do these rifles have a range limit that i'm coming up against?

@ryandpahl A reply from Gotcha_Good, That just brighten'd my day. And looking at it from that perspective it does make sense... The scopes don't magnify what they are pointed at, but instead just zoom your screen in. That would explain the noticeable pixelation and fade over distance. Logical thinking, Gotcha_Good does it! Also fingers crossed they crank the EXP to level up to bf2 requirements, I got to 45 in 4 days :\ Im hoping that was just for testing purposes, Or Im going to get bored!
