Brill video mate, enjoyed that some great tips in there aswell. I remember watching that vid with the tank of a trout and how gard it was pulling. This is pretty mich how ive set my ali combo i got from black friday. Rod ace hawk double with the light tip in Reel, tsu genius loaded with berkley sick 6lb fluro straight through, On the end tackle ive had a 2grm tungsten texas with a slim shady 70mm shad from 97t. And ive been getting on great atm pinging it around. Mininmum overuns and i agree its all on the feel with spool tension vs weight of lures and weight with help from the brakes.

Thanks a lot mate! I tried to keep it simple, there's a lot more to it but I think if we get the basics right then the rest just comes easily with experience. That's a good combo mate, what you think of the rod? I've been keeping my eyes on them. Yeah that trout on a BFS was quite a bit crazy to be honest, never been that stressed in my life whilst fishing 😅🤣🤣🤣

@@zombiebitefishing tbf its a nice little rod. Two tips one ul and one light. Ive been using the light one atm as its rated upto 6grm so a decent shad creature bait and a 2grm weight it loads up nice. The ul tip i think would be nice on the trout tbf. Defo worth the punt for the money

@NetfishnChill how's the lure fishing scene around there bro? Maybe going more finesse can help since it's so over fished??

@@zombiebitefishing haha na I mean over fished as in all the fish they take out the water don't get put back unfortunately so it's not that the fish are seeing too many lures it's just there's not many left to begin with in most places also because sooo many people fish every bit of water they find here, so it's hard work, was thinking to go back to nl or uk in a few months but the way everything's going with all these wars I'd rather stay out of the western world until its over

@NetfishnChill oh I see 😅 yeah it's not great around here bro, let's see how things go the next few months. If you come back to the UK don't forget to give me a shout 💪

Nice video buddy, do you find that fluorocarbon is a slight negative with bite detection or not really noticeable, 🤔
@zombiebitefishing
@zombiebitefishing 7 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy! Not really, but I always used nylon/mono so I don't really feel much of a difference to be honest. And fluoro is way less stretchy/or not stretchy at all, not really much of a difference to me mate! I just use braid on my heavier combos mainly because it's thinner and I can put way more line.
@darrenrodd.
@darrenrodd. 7 ай бұрын
I tried using fluro all the way thru and couldn't do it as there's to much line memory it just wants to come off the reel to fast
@zombiebitefishing
@zombiebitefishing 7 ай бұрын
I know mate, that's why I prefer mono/nylon just because it's more flexible. Fluoro if it's not 100% fluoro it's not really flexible at all, it's super tricky to set up the reel. Braid it's possibly the more forgiving line though, a bit tricky to pick backslashes if it's too thin.

@zombiebitefishing I've just loaded up one of my reels with some 8lb mono I had lying around gonna have a few practice throws in the field tomorrow see how that goes, tried fluorocarbon couldn't do it as to much line memory so see how this goes 🎣👍
@zombiebitefishing
@zombiebitefishing 7 ай бұрын
@darrenskayakfishinguk I hope it works ok for you buddy! I normally use Berkley Trilene mono and have no problems, it still has memory, but because it's stretchy and softer than fluoro works better! But as I said in the video, it's a bit personal preference! I have a few mates that just use fluoro and have no problems!

I don’t have any BFS set ups but do throw some light jigs and crankbaits . I think it’s got more to do with the rod than the reel imho . The correct line and brake settings and you can cast most baits ( unless it’s a crazy cheap reel )
@zombiebitefishing
@zombiebitefishing 7 ай бұрын
The rod is a big part of it, no doubt. I can go down to 6g with my "normal" reels, which is quite impressive! But for the super tiny lures like 3g (I have no clue how much is that in oz 😅) then yeah BFS reel all the way. But for the kind of lures you throw for bass it doesn't make a lot of sense to be honest I think!
@Oldbasshole

@@zombiebitefishing I don’t throw anything that small . 1/8 Oz ball head jig with a paddletail is about as small as I throw on casting gear . Most of the baits I throw are 1/4 Oz to 3/4 Oz . Biggest is probably 2 1/2 -3 Oz lol
@zombiebitefishing
@zombiebitefishing 7 ай бұрын
@Oldbasshole that's still impressive, 1/8 plus a paddletail! That's what I normally throw for perch, sometimes a bit heavier!
@zombiebitefishing
@zombiebitefishing 7 ай бұрын
@Oldbasshole yeah 3oz it's a lot, sometimes I throw +4oz for pike, but normally when I know there's big fish swimming around 😅
@Oldbasshole

@@zombiebitefishing those big baits are good for locating fish. I get a fair amount of follows on them so you can see where they’re hanging out . Then try something smaller to get a reaction bite
