This spool isn't the best. It actually went bad after 2nd trip. Check my latest spool for the tatula in recent vids. The chameleon diy spool is legit

I'm a fan of the tatula with the aftermarket spool but I think those Chinese bfs reel will be looking real good when they start shipping them with spools weighing at 6-7 grams.
@rawrfishing4 жыл бұрын
likely would work so much better if they are lighter indeed. but it may also backlash a lot too. i think i really like the mag force z. just can't cast super hard with it. it's all about the finesse casting. It's like a japanese sword, it's strong, but can also break if you just hack things down. the key is to swing to slice, not hack down like a claymore...

Single hooks rule for catch and release fishing. Where do you get your ceramic bearing from? I might try some if they don’t cost too much. I am still using both My XF-50 reels and my GH-100 reels. The stock bearing improved after I blew them out with air and oiled them with Penn reel oil. The stock bearings run quiet and after a few hours of fishing, I repeat cleaning and add a tiny drop of oil to each bearing. I also use Reel Magic to treat my line, reel and reel guides. Reel Magic works for me and I can tell the difference after using it. I am not looking for anything better for the simple reason once you properly service these reels they do all I want them to do. I carry an extra spare spool for my reels but seldom need to use it. I use 6-pound four-strand braid and depending on water clarity, I might use a short fluorocarbon or monofilament leader. However, most times I tie to lures without one. I use Fly Snaps instead of regular Dulock Snaps. I have never lost a fish using them and they work much better than split rings or loop knots for small jigs and lures. The only time I use swivels is when using spoons or inline spinners. I seldom use lures under two grams or heavier than five grams on BFS tackle. When using heavier lures I use shallow spool Piscifun Phantom reels, medium light fast action rods, and ten-pound braid with lures from 1/8th to 5/16th of an ounce. I have two Tusrinoya rods like yours only they are the CL562UL models and slightly longer. They cast light lures the best, the micro guides are a pain if you don’t tie small leader knots. Truthfully, your rod model is likely better for small trout streams than mine. The Spirit Fox reel is lighter but an XF-50 reel with a Spirit Fox spool likely cast just as well. I never bought Daiwa reels because I always liked the looks of other reels better.

it sure is,what single hooks do u use? i think you said you have purchased some from aliexpress? i get my bearings from www.zotyindustrial.com/ I have a contact if you need it or you can just reach out to them directly via the email from the website. I may try braid once i get more familiar with the tatula... i think i can do it with the spiritfox for light lures now. Already on braided line on my XF50, but i use heavier line as i use it for a ML setup Clips/Snaps are definitely better than loop knots when it comes to thin line.

I use those hook snaps as well, typically the bigger size. Problem is, stuff gets caught inside them easily because of the open end, and I'd reccomend not using them for t-rigs, or fishing in thick cover. I have thrown light shakey heads with them though. Recently I got some tactical angler clips, and I'm Goin to be using those for t-rigs and shakey heads.
@rawrfishing4 жыл бұрын
i normally don't use snaps for heavier cover type fishing either. just open water, light stuff. or if it's on my chatter bait blade. lately for my home made ones, i have been bending my own tho.

i wonder hows it really feel like with those ceramic bearings in sprit fox. I used it few months ago before the virus hit USA now its just sitting at home alone lol
@rawrfishing4 жыл бұрын
to me it felt really good. If you don't wanna spend the money, get air gun, take your stock one out and blow out the damn thick grease they put in there. then use your own high performance bearing oil that you use and boom! I did that for all my reels other than the spiritfox... not sure why LOL

Yes I am using a different spool on the Tatula. I have an aftermarket one that is similar to the link i'll share with you. but i can't say it is the exact one because the seller sold me the wrong one. The Spirit fox casts well but it does have one flaw with the anti-reverse bearing. it slips sometimes under load...

Since when a the Tatula 100 is an BFS reel???? It isn't event a medium-light power reel, but a medium-medium one. It doesn't have a low weight and floating spool.
@rawrfishing4 жыл бұрын
Since the moment I put a shallow spool in it. Did you comment based on the title? Or did you watch the video?
@pescadordosertao41344 жыл бұрын
@@rawrfishing still not a BFS. If so the Tatula SV TW would be called BFS too. It's a medium reel tuned for throwing light lures using probably a rays studio spool. Still a 100 sized reel.
@rawrfishing4 жыл бұрын
BFS is a fancy word for Ultralight baitcasting. And it's achieved here. You may not agree, and that is fine. u are entitled to your opinion, but it's not an argument I would like to pursue. thanks for watching
@pescadordosertao41344 жыл бұрын
@@rawrfishing I agree with you over bfs naming being fancy equivalent to ultra light. But when you call a 6.9oz reel a BFS/UL one, you are inducing people to create a wrong concept over the matter. Just it.
@rawrfishing4 жыл бұрын
I never liked how people MUST have a reel at a specific weight to be classified as something. If it can be use for UL it's BFS. that should be the baseline! Anything else are just be attributes that may/may not add value to a reel. Having a light reel will reduce fatigue... that is ALL it does. It doesn't allow you to cast a lure or not. Your conceptual idea of a BFS reel is YOURS. I will keep preaching mine as there is no OFFICIAL guideline of what a BFS reel should be. Some folks just took some of the OG and best BFS reels and just took the attributes as a baseline.
