I have owned a Bissell BG10 for 5 years and it's been the best rug cleaner that I've ever used. I rented every type of rug scrubber in the past and NONE compare to the BG10. After 5 years of hard use a valve needed replaced, the factory representative explained my problem, sent me the valve at a fair price. The repair video explained in great detail how to change the valve. One hour later my scrubber is ready for many more dirty carpets. Thank you Bissell for a Quality 5 Star Product and a Great Support Team. P. S. I've purchased a second BG10 because my work is expanding. Matthew 6:33

This is a most wonderful video. So detailed and doable. I shampooed my carpet and 6 months later pulled out the machine to do it again, and there is no water flow. I turned the machine on and put an object in the hose attachment water valve and no spray out at all. Not even a bubble. The red spray trigger on the handle...nothing. I was going to replace both the pump and solenoid but I am thinking that maybe only the pump is bad. Is there a way to tell which one is bad? The flow device does not turn either. It was replaced two years ago when water started squirting out the top of it.

Great detailed videos however; I still have the problem with my BG10 Machine. The foot motor works and makes the role spin, water is dispensed (sprayed) correctly and flow indicator moves (spins), I cleaned all debris, I checked for suctioning on top of the dirty water tank, the motor duct and also inspected the float & baffle for any damage, changed the pump, the solenoid and still no suction. Nice video! My Big Green is leaking water from the front sprayer (red nozzle underneath). It just leaks water from the moment it is powered on. I tried testing the trigger on the handle, and it works as it's supposed to. It also seems like it isn't cleaning as good, but this may be due to the excess water it is spitting out. Any ideas for what to fix? I can't find anything online.
@bissellcommercialcustomers41003 жыл бұрын
Cody, Thank you for the detailed information! For the leaky spray nozzle, remove solution tank from unit and fill halfway with water. Hold the tank over your sink and see if the problem might actually be the cap on the tank. If it is not the tank cap, more than likely you have a solenoid valve that is stuck in the open position and may need to be replaced. As far as the decline in quality of cleaning, more detailed info may be needed but you will want to clean out the brush carriage area (drop the brush carriage and clean out the entire area behind the brush as the dirt or nastiness will deposit back onto the carpet if it is not cleaned off). If it is not sucking the solution and dirt up off of the carpet as well as it used to, you will want to follow along with my "BG10 checking for no suction causes" video as the issue may be in the nozzle assembly. You can call us at 800-242-1378 and ask for Customer Service if further assistance or parts are needed. I hope this helps!

I’m not getting any water ,witch one do I change ? Or do I chance both pump and solenoid ?
@bissellcommercialcustomers41003 жыл бұрын
Jermaine, You will want to test the pump first. Water in solution tank, turn unit on, and insert a large unbent paperclip into the small solution hose port directly in front of your flow indicator and depress the self-sealing gasket to allow the water to exit. If the water shoots up 6 to 8 inches high, the pump is good and you will only need to change out the solenoid valve.

Do I need to change the solenoid valve as well?
@bissellcommercialcustomers41003 жыл бұрын
@@shemreyes5564 Shem, Yes it does sound as if you will possibly need both the pump and solenoid valve, and maybe even a new flow indicator. The pump pushes the spray, the flow indicator directs it through the machine, and the solenoid valve allows it to exit the unit. Get the three parts and start in that order with the replacement. Pump first-did it resolve the issue. If not, flow indicator second. Did that resolve the issue? If no, replace solenoid valve. Your problem should then be TOTALLY resolved.

My hand wand attachment is working fine. However, the base unit does not engage (spray or suction) when the trigger is pressed. Where should I start? Can it still be a solenoid issue? Thank you!
@bissellcommercialcustomers41003 жыл бұрын
Jeremiah, The fact that the hose/tool combo is working fine is the perfect indicator that the issue is going to be found below that are of the unit. So, as long as you have removed the spray nozzle to check for blockages, yes it will probably end up being your solenoid valve.

any idea why a BG10 commercial wont power on at all?
@bissellcommercialcustomers4100 Жыл бұрын
@00thos-On a BG10, the main power cord is able to be removed from the handle by unscrewing the screws and disconnecting the plug harness. Inspect this plug in module for any signs of electrical issue (dark, smoky looking). If no signs of electrical issues are noted, more then likely it is the main vacuum motor's wiring connection that has failed. Hartley, This is a classic symptom of a frozen solenoid valve. It may have had time to effect the flow indicator as well but that solenoid valve is more than likely seized in an open position. Renardo, If you tested the pump pressure in the manner that you have described without any spray, the pump (even new) may be bad. It may also be installed incorrectly. You may want to double-check the installation. Once you have done that, if it is still not producing a 6 to 8 inch stream upon testing the flow indicator the way you described, it is a bad pump.-Amanda

Instead of using a knife on those tie wraps, a pair of communications scissors works so much better with no risk of cutting the tubes or yourself. These scissors are made for cutting things like tie wraps, CAT5, CAT6 and CAT7 data cables, so they can easily cut tie wraps without damaging the scissors. Using normal scissors will just ruin the scissors. The scissors I have are about 25 years old, so they hold up well. Great video otherwise.
