If I had to choose, I’d go with Minthara. Halsin is overstaying his welcome by insisting on the death of someone who didn’t even manage to raid the grove. Minthara deserves a second chance, but he completely denies it, contradicting the same empathy he extended to Kagha, who was fully prepared to kill a tiefling child. What an absolute hypocrite. No wonder they cut this.

halsin was so unserious for that. I mean, he knows that Minthara is powerful, and also knows she's gonna be Absolute's puppet without Tav again. And he's making ultimatum, like he's a boss of the group or something. I don't think Minthara would care about tieflings and his people if she wasn't controled by the Absolute. Sorry Halsin, but you gotta go.

Even if i liked Minthara and Halsin equally (and I don't, sorry) I would always choose Minthara, because 1. If Minthara leaves, she becomes Absolute's slave (either the way she was before or an illythid). If Halsin leaves, he just? Returns to his normal regular life? 2. Halsin has no real reason to travel with the party after lifting the shadow curse. Minthara at least wants to take revenge on Orin and the Absolute. 3. Minthara doesn't give stupid ultimatums?

I kind of wish they had more time to flesh out the possibilities for Minthara & Halsin dialogue in the party. As is, they don't even acknowledge each others existence. Which is kind of funny, but a bit immersion breaking. It'd have been so cool if you could roll a persuasion check to smooth things over between them. They'd probably never be friends, but we could have gotten some funny back and forth between them.

@@josephmchugh4040 agreed! As in there’s just no reaction from either of them when you recruit the other to the party :(

there are 2 instances when they acknowledge each other that I found: when they witness each others deaths (minthy scream is just wow XD) and when you try to leave Moonrise without breaking out Minthara from the prison - Halsin speaks for her

I’m so fucking glad that this has been seemingly patched over. I do not want to have to choose between the two of them and I’m glad I don’t have to anymore.

I like how the title implies Halsin is being unreasonnable when he just says he's not staying with the person who almost massacred his people and a group of refugees
@graceplayz773 күн бұрын
Hello! Sorry if it made you feel that way, but I didn't mean it. He called it an "ultimatum," and the situation fits the definition of a drama, which is why I named it that way. I agree with you that he has his reason to do it.
@Rezonlox3 күн бұрын
But he is unreasonable: Minthara was not herself under the Absolute's control, and only threatened the Grove when she was still under its influence. When she underlines this basic fact, Halsin too brushes it aside because he knows he can't really argue with it, instead appealing to blatant racism towards Drows. I adore the character of Halsin in its imperfections, but it is clear that they removed this scene because he is being out-of-character unreasonable, way too in contrast with its established personality.
@mitsunitaiko1742Күн бұрын
@Rezonlox bit of a thought exercise. If someone attempted to slaughter your entire family and friends, then came to you a week later saying they want to hand around you and your friends, saying it's not their fault, they were brainwashed, would you want to be anywhere near them ? Even if you knew it to be true ? Would it be unreasonable to want that person to gtfo ?
@vdokosКүн бұрын
@@mitsunitaiko1742in the world with a literal mind control it is a pretty reasonable excuse. Formerly brainwashed drow isn't the worst ally available. We can make a deal with a devil and he wouldn't care that much.

He is! Minthara was being mind controlled, and worse, sending her away means death to her and others, while Kagha gets only a slap on the wrist unless you kill her yourself

He's not racist, he's prejudiced against Lolth worshippers. The Drow twins in the brothel were born on the surface.
