The engineers who decided to raise the cam at that height really helped with the valvetrain geometry compared to the 426 hemi.

I can tell you that Comp does a much better job with the cams now. I've used several of their camshafts and they were all ready to install. That said I still clean them cause HP baby

I am surprised you didn't soak the lifters. I'm sure it doesn't matter probably, but I did mine for like 30 minutes before doing mine in my 12 ram. Then again, you know of course what you're doing. Just scares me lol

Dosen't matter, they pump up pretty quick.

I'd soak them if they were made of wood...a bit of assembly lube and a few cranks with pedal to the floor(preventing start) will prime everything with oil.

The 6.5 is just a bored 5.7, almost everything is interchangeable including camshafts.
