The Chosokabe clan is really strong when they dominated its own region. They could rally 100,000+ troopers in a very short duration.

I rather work with small pure samurai armies, they dun need much rice and do not get tired, the game is really a lot harder when you carry around massive amounts of troops.

Pure militia army means you don't fight long, drawn out battles, no? Sure, you got the number, but I've won vs 11k army pure militia vs 4,7k mine pure infantry. Infantries can fight long battles and give out morale push perks if you're on an advantage, dealing super big morale damage to the enemy units coming close. Pure militia units will desert and plummet overall morale after quite some time in battle, so no goodie, I suppose.
