Oh I love Lulea and Kiruna.

You are quite wrong about the roads in the Gällivare area - in fact most roads are paved (asphalt). You only find dirt/gravel roads on very few places - in small rural villages e.g.

Danke dir!

Nice video! Gällivare is pronuonced as Jällivare. The 'G' probably closer to the English 'Y' in 'yard' than an English 'J'. The 'ä', 'a' with two dots above, is like the 'a' in 'happy'. L is L. The 'i' is like in 'in' or 'is'. V is as an English 'v'. The 'a' as in 'large' or a little more open as in "Aha! 😃💡" The R is a gentle Swedish R, or a sloppy Scottish R, depends on how you see it😂! And the 'e' is like in 'end'. The mystery with the G pronuonced as J (Y) is that a G before a soft vowel in the beginning of a word sounds 'J'. Gj, hj, lj is also 'j' 😘 Who said that the English language is spelled weird? Just wait for our special stj, skj, sj, sk (sometimes ch and sch) which is close to 'sh' in English but not the same, I can't explain it, and the tj, kj, k (before soft vowel), sometimes 'ch' and 'sch', which is the same as English 'sh'. The Swedish language can be tricky both to pronounce and spell. 💗

@@bavarian_globetrotter Several decades ago they tried to teach me both English and German in school. Didn't work out well. 🙄 I later realized that English is a necessity, so with a few classes and mostly self taught, that part is alright nowadays. The German... No, sorry. 😒 Thanks to the likeness I can understand some written, but not good enough to get my way around. Languages are interesting, that's where we really can see that we are related to other people. It's also a good thing to learn how to pronounce names for example. If you look for something, and you're standing there like a fool and no one understand what you're trying to say! Anyone who has traveled know that situation 😂😂 The worst traps in Swedish are å, ä, ö, the rest of the spelling contra pronunciation. And how the Scandinavian countries pronuonce 'U'... I don't there's no other language with that sound.. 🤔 When a not native speaker of Swedish, Danish or Norwegian tries, they all become German! 😁 You say 'u' as we say 'o', and you say 'o' as we å! And the Scandinavian 'U'.... 😂😂

@@annabackman3028 Hi, sorry for responding late but I was out of the country :-) Yes I know that feeling although I speak fluent English, French and a pretty OK Italian and Spanish. I have a friend who was born in Malmö, of course speaks Swedish and we've been to Oslo 2019 for new years eve and I was stunned that even the Norwegians understood him :-) Have you been travelling as well?

Sj, Sk, G, Si/Ssi, Ti, Stj, Skj, Ch, sh and Sch in Swedish are like a hard version of sh in english. It's complicated to explain. While tj, ( k before soft vowels) is pronounded like sh in english. J, (G before soft vowels) Gj, Hj, Lj, Dj are pronounced j or like y in yes. Å and somerime O is like au in austria or o in something. It's å often it's a long vowel , exemption are kom (come), son (son), ovan (above) and lova (promise), O is often used if it's a short vowel exemptions are råtta (rat), bråttom (hurry) , påsk (easter), hålla (keep), håll (hold), många(many), måste (must), våffla (waffle). O is mostly like O in moon. S, Ps, Z (most of the time C except for ck) are pronounced s like in sun Ck is of course like ck in truck. Ä is like the e in where or the first e in there. Ö is like the i in bird or ea in earl. Yes Swedish is hard to spell at times.

HI, I booked them online at the Swedish Railways SJ (www.sj.se/#/) as it was very easy and cheaper as well. At the time I travelled I paid around 925 SEK (90 €) in a 1st class single compartment with was a really good deal.
