One correction,1 Akula Class will only be active at a time not 2,as per lease agreement we have to return the Akula 2 i.e INS Chakra after lease terms after which we will get the next Akula class submarine in 2025.

No clarity if the deal is through or shall have to wait likr ka 226T choppers for years. Considering our proven bad record on tenders for 75 i ssk we should go for a super scorpene or other option with dcns france on gog deal. Even though france offered fc21 torpedoes which are good and suitable we didnot bother to consider it as substitute for blackshark. Now scorpene is like a dolphin with some teeth

Kyuki 1 Akula submarine ke 10 years time 2022 me khatam ho jayenge to kya ye dubara lease pe liya jayega 2nd Akula class submarine ke sath. Or sir jabtak P-75I Indian Navy me induct honge takbtak to Shishumaar or Sindhughosh Class ke submarines dhire dhire retire hona suru ho jayenge ta kya tak tak India ke pass sirf 12 conventional submarine hi rahenge (6 subs p75 and 6 subs p75i). Or project 76 abhi tak sirf planning stage me hai. Kyuki India ke history rahe hai delay karne ki ta tabtak to scorpion submarine bhi midlife upgrade ke liye chale jayenge. Jaha India ko kargil ke baad 2020 tak 24 Submarine fleet ya usse jada submairne mil jane chahiye the (6 p75, 6 p75i, 12 p76), halaki tab SSN ki baat nai ki gayi thi. Lakin ab India ke pass SSN banane ki capability hai to mere hisab se P-75i ke sath parallel 6 SSN or P-76 ke parrallel 6 advance version of SSN lena chahiye. Tab tak 12 submarine retire ho jayeneg. To is hisab se India ke pass 2040 tak total 36 (6 p75, 6 p75i, 12 p76, 12 ssn) honge jo India ke badte need ke sath fit baith ta hai. Kyuki Indian Ocean me China ke badte influence or India ke geopolitics me badte role ko leke ye fit honge. Or shayed aap sahi ho ki future me first 2 Arihant class ke submairne ko 3 advanve S5 class ke submairne replace karenge. Jiske capabilities tabtak ke western counterparts ki tarah honge.

Indian Navy should act quickly on new submarine projects such as Project 76 and S5 Class submarines as we are already short of submarines to counter Chinese aggression in Indian Ocean Region. Also, India should increase it's submarine fleet to 30 units as we should expand our strategic interest beyond IOR to South China Sea in the east and African & Gulf coast to the west. This will help to counter China's growing influence in the region. And a third aircraft carrier is a must for Indian Navy looking at the worst case scenario of a two front war.
