I totally agree, the first memory of abuse I have is about 5 it went on with different people up into junior high. By the time I was in 4-5 the grade my head was so messed up. I knew I wasn't "normal" but at the same time it was normal.if that makes sense.i thought the urges and desires I had were just normal guy stuff but I was literally plagued with sexual thought all day long. I am not responsible for what happened to me growing up or how it rewired my brain. But I am responsible for the choice I have made. It caused a lot of problems in my adult married life. You teach a dog to bite,that's what it's going to do. I hated the way I thought, God knows for years I tried not to think that way, but I didn't know how to stop. I was in a accident where I tipped a mixer truck over I hit my head,I got knocked out for 10-15 minutes. When I woke up,I felt different the plaguing thought and imagery was gone. The first time since forth grade that I wasn't haunted by the stuff. But I still have intimacy issues because of it.i want connection with my wife but it scares the hell out of me and the thought of being sexual causes anxiety and fear. I'm trying to learn how to do things the right way. But the damage from the trauma still effects me at 48 yrs old. It's weird I'm not responsible for what those did to me when I was younger that formed and shaped my thinking but I'm responsible for my actions. I agree that I'm responsible for my actions I just wish there was more understanding. I didn't break the law in any way shape or form, but I did form emotional connections that shouldn't have been formed,I didn't swap any spit or body fluids.i did grab a gals leg and touch a boob through a shirt.i felt horrible and told my wife. the last 15 years of my life have been hell because of it.

Like she said, every child who acts out doesn’t need “punishment”. Some of them really do just need therapy and someone to talk to and be there for them. It doesn’t help to take a child out of a toxic or abusive situation and put them right into another one.

It’s a horrible place they way she described transportation was spot on I fought like hell cuz random people come in and just rip the blankets off of you grabbing at you they don’t tell you shit . Not to mention the sexual stuff that went on there and I am 28 now so this was awhile ago but I still have bad dreams where I am stuck there and I wake up with my heart pounding and disoriented and I was treated fairly well compared to other girls and kids and I was treated like shit so I feel her I mean she had issues but a lot of teenagers do .

i've been in a lot of psych wards and i think its important for everyone to know that every single place i have been to is just as bad as the ranch or worse. and whenever somebody tries to speak up people say "you're just a kid", "you can't think for yourself", or "it's not real, you are just mentally ill". people need to realise that when they are put somewhere like this, they lose all control of their lives and are in the hands of monsters and there is nothing they can do about it. these places need to be abolished.

I was in 2 separate hospitals because of my mental health this Summer. I was there almost a month total. People were so cruel and traumatized me even more. It took me over a month of recover emotionally from that experience. Everyday was HELL and now I’m left with a large amount of medical debt. When I left I was so sleep deprived and was treated so poorly, that I thought people were out to get me. The patients and the staff try to fuck with psychiatric patients because they know they’ll get away with it. I had a nurse that gave me my medications one night and said, “These cause cancer.” She should not be in the healthcare field. I felt like even the staff was trying to fuck with me. This shit needs to be exposed. People in there are treated as less than human. I have severe PTSD and it traumatized me even more. At night when I got home, I would scare my partner because I was running through the house. People put so much fear in me. They punish you for showing emotion and I didn’t cry for a month after I was discharged. I was SO emotionally blunted because they would keep me for being emotional. There are a lot of “watchers” in there. It’s terrifying. It triggered my PTSD so much that I wasn’t even forming sentences at times. I was just making noises and I had really bad tremors. I’m stable now, but it was so sad. I couldn’t even think clearly. My partner cried after his visit with me one day because I wasn’t myself at all. It devastated him. There needs to be an overhaul of these psych wards. They do the exact opposite of what they’re supposed to do.

This makes it much easier for them to do their own "programs," take advantage of patients, clients, etc. This is happening in a large amount not only in these situations but throughout all of the mental healthcare industry. I went to a program like this, causing trauma that caused me to go to a hospital to be on watch. I found that the nurses there were doing the same kinds of things that the people at the "outdoor therapy" place I went to. It's easy for them to do this because they all cover for each other and in the end, it's their word against a psych patient who they can easily pass off as delusional, having an "episode," etc. Absolutely deplorable.

BINGO. Thankyou for mentioning this. Abuse also happened in ASTON HALL in England UK. - interview from survivor called Barbara. They did experiments on children to see who would turn out to be a criminal- these are funded by the NHS n universities. Aston Hall abused children n some died. The doctors abused children in 1 room with only a mattress on the floor.They drugged children and children had to take pregnancy tests!. Also drug called Bigota it's from white flower when blown on person- they can be controlled and not remember what happened. Many normal children labelled as having Scizophrenia deliberately so as to have an excuse to admit children in mental hospital. WAKE UP PEOPLE. Don't give the NHS / anybody any excuse to abuse your children or loved ones. Never leave them alone with anyone TRUST YOUR INSTINCS. Single parents are vunerable- get your shit together fight addiction so you are WELL enough to look after your own children instead of others abusing them PLEASE WAKE UP

We weren't allowed to bathe when we needed so we would go weeks without bathing. Every single kid there “thinks they don’t belong and I shouldn’t be here”, trust me I thought the same things, but as I went through my program and learned about why I was there I matured enough to realize that I was there to get me back up on my feet, not to break me down. For the wilderness program, I was kidnapped at midnight age 16 and sent to live in the woods for months. I slept in wind storms and rain and freezing temperatures. I almost rolled off a mountain with the massively heavy pack on my back. Forced to hike many hours a day. I had such bad chest pain that only got worse. I now know that I have preload failure. First day hiking, I had to run back down the mountain from a forest fire in the Pisgah ntl Forest. Bullied by peers. Cut myself with quartz rocks and was bullied more for it and said it was for attn. I couldn’t “manipulate” my parents by telling them how miserable I was. I was once able to sleep in a boy scout cabin. The wooden bed frame was inscribed “Bury My Body.” I will never forget.

As someone who was sent to places like this throughout my entire developmental years due to addiction and eating disorders, I love that people are beginning to open up about these kinds of facilities. Child mental healthcare needs to be revised heavily. I went to John Hopkins as a child at 14, where I was placed with grown ass adults with severe mental health issues that threatened my life and literally came into my room with the motive of ending my life. Nothing was ever done. And aside from that, the suicides I witnessed after the deed had been done scarred me for life. Inpatient facilities are necessary at times, but not anywhere near as much as doctors and parents believe they are. To be completely honest, none of them helped me and I got clean and healthy by myself for myself, without any help. These places scarred me more than my addictions ever did, and I, among other kids, was treated like actual dog shit while being entirely stuck alone and afraid. I can’t stand places like this. Before "the ranch", talk shows like Springer use to do "scared straight boot camps". They would have drill sergeants scream in the kids faces until the kids broke and cried on national T.V. Audiences laughed and loved it at first, because they had shown the kids sassing and acting bad right before they would send in the drill sergeants. So the audience wanted to see those brats "scared straight." @@kiazoblack.566 Sure, it's real that kids get abducted and hurt by strangers, but it's vastly more likely to be done by family or friends and not strangers. Especially sexual abuse. "Stranger Dangers" is an excuse used to induce fear and moral panic causing the isolation and manipulation of children leading to psychologically damaging kids. Telling children to fear all strangers and public spaces they occupy is NOT healthy. I work for CPS and I see this shit all the time. Kids are too afraid to go outside, to trust anyone and rely completely on overprotective parents for comfort.
@forestchild42633 жыл бұрын
@@SpookeyClown "59% were acquaintances, 34% were family members, and 7% were strangers." some statistics I found when researching on who assaults children. 7% is a lot, even if it's a smaller % than the other ones. Sure, a lot of family aren't reliable and will take advantage of being alone with your kid, but that's when you have to listen to your kids, if they say they are uncomfortable around a family member, listen to them. I agree that the phrase "stranger danger" is not a good way to teach children to be wary. But it's like the saying, "not all men!" no but how are we to tell the difference? I think kids should be taught that they have to be careful no matter what. But tell them in a way that they won't be scared of meeting new people, or of making connections. It's an issue that overprotective parents teach their kids that strangers are dangerous, but they don't teach their kids that their own family, or friends could harm them. But at the same time it is deeper then parents not wanting to think of their friends and family in that way, it is the generational teachings. They have to want to teach their kids further than just "stranger danger." But yeah. I hope that made sense. I just felt like commenting on this.

I literally just commented on the Dr Phil clip that she needed help and none of the adults did that but straight abused her. And here I find this video. Sorry that anyone has to go through that.😢

This camp is literally a way for “doctors” to strip children of their basic human fùcking rights. They made you sit there for three days and not shower? In Utah cold weather as well. Really, really heartbreaking. My heart goes out to all the kids who were sent to the turn about ranch.
@korcher01423 жыл бұрын
Showering isn’t a basic human right 😂. You guys sound so privileged, acting like it’s some nazi camp or something. She had to sit in a teepee? Bid deal, she was a bitch and it clearly worked in turning her around for the better

@@korcher0142 keeping a 13 year old awake in the cold outdoors for 3 consecutive days and nights, not letting them move from the same spot and shouting at them every time they start to fall asleep is cruel, children deserve to feel safe even if they did wrong.

@@starblack9374 i think u need to spend time in the wild. a necessity is something i need to stay alive or survive. when was showering used for survival. here u are worrying about petty shit when there are countries having hard times just trying to survive. why not spend time to worry about the people outside instead of worrying about ur privileges and ur wants.

I went to a wilderness and treatment program in Utah just like this. I relate to every single experience she had (except the murder). My mom never believed when i told her how traumatizing and mentally abusive this place was , and that was the same with most parents of the kids there. So many kids go through this traumatizing experience that most people don’t even know exist. There were even 8 year olds at my program that had to go through that, that’s pure insanity! I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy, these programs need to be stopped. I’m so thankful she’s speaking up about it bc that’s something i have not been able to do.

Common sense tells me that if Dr Phil doesn’t own the ranch he makes $ every time he sends someone to that ranch. He has become very wealthy exploiting the pain and misery of others.
