Yes, my catholic HS made that an actual deadass superlative and even made me pose with dark black eye makeup on and a leather jacket against our courtyard brick wall for the yearbook photo. I was so embarrassed. BUT my dean of students, my math and home room teachers all deeply cared about me and sought to it that I graduated. It wasn’t that I was failing any classes, I had just missed so much school due to having depression, ptsd and living with so much trauma at such a young age. At my HS, you couldn’t graduate if you had more than a certain amount of absents/tardies and I was well past my limit my senior year due to my sexual assault & suicide attempt. I wouldn’t have made it through without Mr. Pierce, Mr. James & Mr. Gibson 🩵

@@claire4266 I’m old and not super up to date on all the info but I’ve heard he let his license lapse which is concerning if true. I think it’s hard to keep ethics balanced when you’re concerned about views, marketing, etc. I work for my clients but, with social media, you also work for subscribers and advertisers and I personally think that’s detrimental to our code of ethics.
@amandadelatorre37903 жыл бұрын
@Chuy 2times I can totally see where you’re coming from and there’s a possibility individuals could fabricate info to feel a sense of community, to get him canceled, etc. I never meant for my comment to across as “send him a bunch of hate because he’s the devil.” That was not at all my intention. I simply meant having a young adult with a platform like Danielle talk about mental health and trauma destigmatizes these topics. She’s had a controversial career and I’d love to see her use her voice to have these conversations.

I was totally one of “those kids” at 14-15. What my parents never knew, was that when I was 13 a family friend had tried to rape me. I grew up in a very traditional religious family, and I knew if I said something, they would blame me, so I didn’t. That sent me into a spiral of behavior. Nobody ever asked me why I was so angry or what happened. They just reacted to me staying out late and coming home drunk(which happened exactly one time, but in a conservative family, they never let you forget that). I was sent away at 15. I ended up doing OK thankfully as an adult and I now have children of my own who I cut some fucking slack, and when they act out, I find out the root of the problem as opposed to just reacting to the behavior.

I was a criminal justice/psychology major and one of my criminology professors always talked about how unethical this is. My professor worked with “at-risk youth” as well as taught within the prison system. She had many critiques of the Dr. Phil show and how much it exploits people with real problems. One episode he had a woman who was an alcoholic and trying not to drink. HE PUT A BOTTLE OF VODKA IN HER DRESSING ROOM! What did she do? Drank it! The poor lady came out to the stage absolutely wasted, because she’s a fucking alcoholic and he disgustingly exploited her addiction for “good tv.” Makes me sick.

He doesnt even go to the ranch so even if people say its his fault....he dont work there he doesnt do anything but pay for it and send kids to get help....obviously when they are done and graduated or whatever then he gets the updates but its not like he gets calls and daily updates.lol.he works on his show and has way more positive feedback because what he does is actually help people....mainly for children and families.he wants to keep families together.not break them up.

Its terrible what you went through. That psych ward and other hospitals/treatment facilities like this emerge when our medical system is based on capitalism. You get people working there who don't care about helping people, just about money. They see a medical degree makes them good money. I'm sure there are some people there who actually do care but capitalism ALWAYS prioritizes profit over everything else.
