There are countless names of God like gobind,gopal, hari, rab, parmeshwar,parmatma,nirankar , waheguru , ishwar , ik onkar , god, etc. Raam mentioned in SGGS Ji is *NOT* Ram Chander Ji Maharaj(Hindu God). Raam in SGGS JI refers to formless lord- aka nirankar, ikongkar, vahiguroo, paratama, alllah ! Ram means all pervading God. This is one of the many names of God and this term for God had been used in India, long before the existence of Ram the prince of Ayodhya. Most of the references to Ram in Gurbani mean the former. They have nothing to do with the latter. Raam Japo ji aise aise, Dhru Prahlad Japeyo har jaise". Which Raam - Sri Raam chandra jee, but Bhagat Dhru/Prahlad born centuries before Sri Raam Chandra Jee, how can they JAP SRI RAAM Chandra Jee? Surely, this is some other Raam.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib JI ਸਤਜੁਗਿ ਤੈ ਮਾਣਿਓ ਛਲਿਓ ਬਲਿ ਬਾਵਨ ਭਾਇਓ ॥ ਤ੍ਰੇਤੈ ਤੈ ਮਾਣਿਓ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਘੁਵੰਸੁ ਕਹਾਇਓ ॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 1390} ਪਦ ਅਰਥ: ਸਤਿਜੁਗ = ਸਤਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ। ਤੈ = ਤੂੰ (ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ!) । ਮਾਣਿਓ = (ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ) ਮਾਣਿਆ। ਬਲਿ = ਰਾਜਾ ਬਲਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਛਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਭਾਇਓ = ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਾ। ਬਾਵਨ = ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ। ਤ੍ਰੇਤੈ = ਤ੍ਰੇਤੇ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ। ਰਘੁਵੰਸੁ = ਰਘੂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ ਵਾਲਾ। ਅਰਥ: (ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ!) ਸਤਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ) ਮਾਣਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਲਿ ਨੂੰ ਛਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਤਦੋਂ ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਬਣਨਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਸੀ। ਤ੍ਰੇਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ) ਮਾਣਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਰਘੁਵੰਸੀ ਰਾਮ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਰਘੁਵੰਸੀ ਰਾਮ) ।
