"Woh ladka hai" is a touching short film about the lives of 22-year-old Shivani and her younger brother, Shivam. In this gripping family drama, we witness how Shivam's pampered upbringing leaves him dependent on his older sister for everything, from making his bed to serving his meals and even waking him up for exams. The burden of responsibility falls entirely on Shivani, pushing her to the brink.
One day Shivam is unable to wake-up on time for a crucial exam. What happens next, what till the end to find out.
Do leave a comment to share your thoughts on the video.

Great concept!! What’s even more frustrating is that in households where the son is older, the daughter is still asked to do these things. At least in this example in the video they can give the excuse that the brother is younger so he is spoilt but what about the older brothers? No such excuse there, it’s all because of gender roles.

A great episode with a great message. These are the kind of boys who want everthing and everyone under their control especially Mom and sister. And an important role is played by the mother who always shields the son even when the mistake is on his side. But nobody questions him as he is The Boy. Later on when they get married either they become a pet to his wife or tortures his wife. And surely the aged mother suffers the most. Can relate to this episode and the characters.

Very true. But I will share a real incident - Karma has its own fruit too. 30 yrs ago there was "Raja" Babu - no domestic help - only study, his sister felt she's a step child to be brutally honest doing all domestic chores, going school. Post marriage she had kids, job and a good family life, understanding partner and EDUCATED MOTHER IN LAW. It was cake walk for her. Raja Babu married girl but no kids despite 10yrs of married life and Raja babu earns high salary but no maid . He washes dishes, cleans washrooms, house cleaning, cooking and what not. Raja Babu and his mother are having quality time now and no regrets!!!! Jaise Karni vaise Barni

The men like Shivam in this video improve a lot once they live in hostels or in PGs away from home at least for a few years. Such men start learning the daily tasks when they are away from family. Making tea, arranging bed, washing clothes, cooking rice and dal are just not household chores but basic life skills.

Truly lived in characters. Great job guys. I don't know about north but this is very unfair practice in most of south Indian houses with uneducated mothers. Change should happen within us and then expect from society. My daughter is 14, son is 8 but its vice-versa at home. Iam very clear that my daughter is Queen and focus on what she's best at n want to do. That's it. My son is white wash gora, 8 but I am never partial. I will ensure he can make his bed, room, cook food and organise independently before he reaches grade 10 (else my tongue is best weapon - my hubby's family say 😜). Trust me kids should be human beings first, empathise and support family members. He may be manager at office but an afterall son / husband / father when he enters home and do ANY task (no male or female task). I went through all this pain in childhood despite my dad highly educated, understanding couldn't do anything against my tiger Mom 😂. He was gazzette officer by 90's but never shied away from domestic help, cooking, teaching us apart from his Office to share my load. No ego or attitude.

@@1Rinku2 I already said she's 14. Girls have more maturity than boys and she's already independent and much capable than me to handle if situation demands by 12. Girls don't need special training. Oh this is issue i too experienced. In Telugu we call boy as vamsoddarak. I don't know who defined this but if i find them, i will take a jump and kick with left leg (this is my dad's favourite dialogue to scold us. Forget about kick, he never raised his hand or voice. I really miss him). We should be really happy n thankful if a married girl agrees to embrace motherhood (many are childless couple with such norms). Girl should give birth only to boy, white wash skin expectation is stupidity. Boy or girl if properly brought up will definitely take the responsibility. We don't have any control over the gender.

I also mentioned this situation of my family when i see this video mere father bhi 3brother and both of 2brothers have son but i am just single girl child of my parents we are in a joint family but we are separated each other in a one house it means we have 2 kitchens in one house..but unhe jb bhi chance milta tha to wo log hmesha pareshan krte the and unke action se whi lgta tha they want to say unka beta hi nhi hai.but mere parents mujhe hmesha support krte hain unhe kbhi frk hi nhi pda ki they had only one daughter not son also they gave me a best education in my whole family..and now they want mai ek sarkari Naukri krun especially wo mujhe ias ya fir professor bnte hue dekhna chahte hain and i am grateful to my god ki mujhe aise parents mile jo mujhe apna kuldipak type smjhte hai like a son.or now we r in a nuclear family hm logo ki just partition hui hai and i am so happy ki Maine apne parents ko sirf ek bar kaha papa mujhe ye ghr nhi chodna hai and wo log maan gye..kyuki mere parents ye property sold kr kahi sukoon se alg rehna chahte the mujhe lekr but un logo ne meri baat mani sirf ek baar kehne pr.and now daddy ab us ghr ko or aage bnane ke liye soch rahe hai for me.i am so lucky ki mere parents ne mujhe apne bete ka drja Diya hai and now it's my turn to give them a happy and peaceful life.now m in my last year of my BA degree and I hope i will complete my masters too fast and get a govt job.. and they also gave me a right to marry someone with my own choice but i don't know about this thing kyuki Maine iss baare me kbhi socha hi nhi i was just thought mai apne parents ko kbhi nhi chodungi even after marriage jisko mere saath shaadi krni hai usko mere parents ke saath rehna padega that's my decision otherwise big no..i know bhut log bolenge ki ldke ko apne maa baap ko nhi chodna chahiye but all i want to say kya ladkiyon ko hi apna ghr chodna chahiye after marriage by the way agr koi bhi ladka 2ya 3bhai behen hai to kya wo apne parents ko manage nhi kr sakte...
