The term gun powder was actually coined by the British .........it had to do with the high element of spice that was used to make Podi ( the dry spiced chutney).....! Honestly I laughed too when I heard this term from an Andhra lady for the first time.

This recipe didn’t work for me this morning 😭. May be i do not have a proper grinder needed to execute this recipe correctly. During the second step when we we are suppose to just grind boiled rice and powdered suji/rava, my blender stopped multiple time as the paste got too thick. Then by adding curd n water n churning it for long time i did get the batter ready but then the dosa was not spreading on tava, batter made a thin coating on tava and rest of the thick batter on top got stuck to ladder, left the surface and collect to form lumps. I could save the batter by making set dosa’s out of if.

It's the rice and sooji ratio. You need to add semolina more and rice very, very little and it's more like a semolina dosa than leftover rice dosa. Leftover rice is just USP of this video. Total waste!
