"Menaskayi" is a famous, tastiest side dish for meal, dosa, chapati or Idli. It is also called as "Kayirasa" in some places. 2 must spice for this dish are sesame and red chillies. Urad dal is optional. Only few vegetables perfectly suits for this dish such as bitter gourd, hog-plums, unriped pineapple or mango etc.
Ingredients
Hog plums 5-6
Sesame seeds 2-3sp
Coconut oil 3sp
Urad dal 1sp
Dry red chilli 4
Grated Coconut 1cup
Salt to taste
Chilli powder 1/4sp
Turmeric powder 1/4sp
Water
For tempering
Oil 1sp
Mustard seeds 1sp
Red chilli 4pieces
Curry leaves
