Disagree with you sir....biased analysis and justification.. Please read history carefully( preferably condition of untouchables, difference between castes in india, difference between shudra and atishudra as told in maharashtra that time.. And reason behind the farman and the farman of bajirao peshva 2 for mahars..).. Sir you didn't mention about this.. 1. Cause of mahars involvement in the war was the orders of peshavas which detoriat mahars situation. (Same as in 1857) 2. Peshvas order bcz of what their temple worship in any of their gods also like sant chokhamela made banned just because their gods will get polluted . And made them to tie broom and pot. (1775) 3. War was a treaty between mahars and british to remove this custom and formation of mahar regiment. 3. British fulfilled that. And later they also started mahar watan post. Which uplifted mahar. But again deterioted by upper caste br ambedkar said this post as tree of drumsticks. 4. Because if this dr. b r ambedkar was able to get education, if there was no entry of mahar in the army, there were No mahar regiment, no ramji sakpal and no br ambedkar. Even no vittal ramji shinde. In history. This is the subjectivity objectivity outcome and significance of this battle.. You should be discussed this also in this video while making analysis..

Very biased. Such a shame that Unacademy is not showing full history. Maharashtra was the only state where Bramhins were rulers; they made Manusmruti structly functional and hence so many atrocities. Bhima Koregaon yes changed the history, this victory to Mahars gave military postings to Mahars; This victory inspired Jyotiba Fule to open schools for Mahars. Babasahab Ambedkar was one of the son of Mahar Sunhedar, who could afford the education. Rest is the history. British gave us opportunity we were waiting for thousands of years; and we certainly used that opportunity our best. In reality that battle was British vs Maratha. But,for Maharashtra it was Mahars(Buddhist) vs Peshwai(Bhramin +Maratha=Hindu). Note: to say it was Dalit is total illogical as there are Chamar,bhangi, and many more but they don’t have any regiment nor they ever participated in wars. Mahars were ancient Buddhist rulers. Even today in Maharashtra, when protest happens for rights it’s only Buddhist who come out and to take reservations benefits all low caste Hindu stand in queue and never take part in protest.

I am studying the life of dalit. I concluded this, they are ideologically different than hindu ideology. They views hindu tradition as manubad/brahminwad. They hold very negative attitude about hindu culture and especially brahmin.

I think painting it as Dalits war, looks too absurd, Cuz as i see their are multiple dalit castes in Maharashtra as well, like Chamar, Bhangi etc, Like we have in north India, But they weren't the part of any war, regiment or empire army in the mediaeval times, And this battle was merely fought by Mahars, Who has the long traditions of being the part of Army, From the Time of Shivaji Maharaj or Deccan sultanate, Mahars were the part of Shivajis army and they were the part of Bijapur and nizam shahi sultanate army as well, If we look clearly in history, And this Battle was fought between 800 British army vs 2800 Peshwa army, As Historical records says, The army of Peshwa was of very heterogeneous soldiers, as they composed of majorly Arabs, pindaris and Marathas, and other hand British army composed of majorly Mahars, Marathas, Rajputs, and Jews, So it was the battle merely fought between Peshwa Bajirao 2 and British, To put it simply, Their wasn't any national interest in this as we see, By Peshwa particularly, but some references says that the Mahar commander in chief come up with deligation to Peshwa bajirao 2, But he refused that deligation brought by Mahars to him, So they joint battle and at the time of battle, The most important part that they were order by British officer to step back, by looking the massive army at the opposite coast of revier, but Mahar soldiers didn't do so, And continue the battle and eventually they got succeed and won the long going battle, So this was the main exact scenario of this Battle, ✌️.

I have immense respect for Pratik Nayak Sir for his knowledge of History. However, he has not highlighted how the Mahar community was discriminated against under the Peshwai rule. The Peshwas treated this community inhumanely, forcing them to wear a constant muzzle to prevent their saliva or spit from touching the ground. They tied brooms to their hips so their sweat and footprints would be erased as they walked. The community was deprived of clean water, forced to drink dirty water, clean toilets, and carry out degrading tasks. The British, despite being opportunistic, exploited these divisions within Indian society but also brought some change. They allowed the Mahar community to join the military and access army schools. This enabled them to wear clean clothes, which was previously unheard of under the Peshwai rule. The Mahars began to educate themselves, live in proper houses, and access clean water and food. While social inequality persisted, there was a sense of liberation during those 60-70 years of British rule. Ramji Ambedkar, for instance, served as a Subedar, which allowed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to gain admission to school. Discrimination still existed, but the situation under British rule was far better for Mahars compared to the Peshwai era. This perspective is crucial and should also be narrated, as it is based on historical facts.
