Prithivi Narayan Shah, Bhimsen Thapa and Janga Bahadur Rana were men with powerful thoughts and great mind. Prithivi Narayan Shah was born in 1723 and died in 1775, Bhimsen was born in 1775 and died in 1839 and Jung Bahadur Rana was born in 1817 and died in 1877. Nepal had 3 terrifying leaders back to back.

FYI: There has been two Bhandarkhal Parva in Nepal one perpetrated by Bhimsen Thapa in 1806 AD as mentioned in the video and another one perpetrated by Queen Rajya Lakshmi Devi but worked on the favor of Jung Bahadur Rana in 1846 AD only a month after Kot Parva.

Brave, opportunistic, evil, able leader, visionary - the man was a package of all these characteristics. I think this mixture was necessary to become a leader in times such as those when he was alive. Edit - and what happened to him was thoroughly deserved. He got what he gave. Just done reading Baburam Acharya’s The Bloodstained Throne: Struggles for Power in Nepal (1775-1914). Though the author tries to sanitise the Shahs and thus loses some objectivity, he has nonetheless done a commendable job in breaking down the gruesome Nepali history into manageable essays. What a hellhole it was back then. And it isn’t a lot better today.
