BHITARKANIKA Wildlife Sanctuary

Bhitarkanika - this is a place where nature talks. Animal roams freely here with the blessings of surrounding forest, river and the sea. Birds soar higher in the sky with confidence and freedom, endowing man with wings of wonder and amazement who are frequently drowned in the matchless beauty of the place. Situated on the coast of Bay of Bengal; surrounded by hypnotically charming mangrove forest, green and mesmerizingly beautiful land is - Bhitarkanika.
Bhitarkanika is a national park located in Kendrapara district of Odisha in eastern India. The national park is surrounded by the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary. The Gahirmatha Beach which bounds the sanctuary to the east separates its swamp region covered with a canopy of mangroves from the Bay of Bengal. It is confined to the deltaic regions of river Brahmani and Baitarani. The park with rich biodiversity is home to Saltwater Crocodile and many other species of flora and fauna.

Bhitarkanika has now become a war zone between humans and crocodiles.. Villagers r losing their lives .The govt is completely failed to build a safe environment for localitws. These crocs r killing humans and their livestocks. Any govt which comes this time must create a safe environment for both to protect eco system as well as human beings..

Lots of informations are outdated... the comstruction and human acrivity is more. Do not stay in govt. Ecotourism huts .. worst service at dangamal. By chance i got a nice place near khola as bhitarakanika resort ..super service and the guide which they had was very good.. he was able to spot mangrove pitta the enigmatic bird ... we camped for 3 days and were able to photographed one. Birds are not much, kingfishers are there. The day i went inside dangamal there was some function going on and lots and lots of noise ...food plates , cups were littered everywhere and monkeys and lizards feeding on those. These have to stop
