I feel the point dom made about BhVr not caring unless the entire community raids their HQ with pitchforks n' torches stands relevant here. They've been not a stranger to general updates fixing maps and characters, but rather allergic to big significant changes. I went back into the update logs on the dbd wiki to see what patches they've done and we've gotten stuff like 8.0.2 and 7.6.2 which make teencie eencie edits to killer add-ons and map bugs. I'm willing to put my entire life savings of 13 dollars BhVr considers these half baby steps to be "health chapters"

I actually disagree. Content droughts do huge damage to games, and most players will complain WAY MORE about lack of new content vs polishing old content. If I have to choose between a damn swamp rework and a new quality chapter, I'm choosing the new chapter. The thing is, BHVR has not excuse to not polish old content, and they do need to do more of that. But not at the expense of new content. I could talk about Overwatch 1 and how much damage that horrible content drought did, but that's a different can of worms. Guess it's situational.

100% agree with the 'Hold W' part of this video. I have no idea why BHVR keep on making killers than will just injure/down for free if you even entertain the notion of playing around a pallet. It really does suck when going against a decent killer player and just having to run in a straight line as your only consistent counterplay (depending on what killer they're playing).

Funny thing about What The Fog. I got it for free (like most of DBD's community) and it didn't even work in the exactly the same way that DBD stopped working once they switched to UE5. And that's not UE5 fault, because Fortnite works. Also I doubt it's PC quality fault, because BG3 works. Apparently they just don't put their games through QA or any testing. Overall that UE5 update is a mess and self incapacitation. From what I've notcied, normal companies work on engine jump behind the scenes for quite a while, cleaning up the code in the process and making sure game will work properly for most people who played the game and meet spec requirements. They don't just slap engine update in a random mid patch and hope it will work and stick. Also, about stuff that will backfire on them in the future. There's no way the ammount of licenses and they got and started piling down on wont bite them in the ass in the future. From what I'm aware licenses like that are mostly annual fee cost. Meaning that the way they overfocus on licenses will end up imploding the studio sooner or later, especially considering how the playerbase is stagnant (or even slightly receeding) despite the licenses ammount. Not to mention how their recent reveal of upcoming FNAF chapter could potentially impact that (and is a perfect example of short term thinking). Because yeah, they'll get a boost of money from players that just heard FNAF is in DBD. But most likely scenario is they'll see it, play for a while and abandon it because of stale gameplay loop. Meanwhile, for part of LGBT+ playerbase that chapter is a middle finger. When combined with increased queerphobia (in game and within community), lack of in game representation, mistreatment of the only rep in game, firing of the person behind Rainbow in the Fog and recent discovery that lead designer guy is queerphobic it causes some of the loyal playerbase to drop or refuse to buy anything. How will it be we'll see, but it's a case of short term gain, long term consequences. Oh, and one more thing. We finally got to see what happens to the game when you refuse to take care of survivor experience and make killer experience simpler (I'm not gonna say better, because games started to feel like handouts) through increasing frustration for survivor. Lobby timers for killers were abyssmal during 2v8. And it wasn't just for the game mode, but for normal mode as well. Meaning there were too few survivors. So it's finally starting to bite them. Now's just the question if they are going to do anything about that or just swipe it under a rug.

BHVR knows how to make a fun game, I played every game they released and had fun with every game. DbD, Deathgarden, meet your maker hell even naughty bear back in the ps3 era, my only issue is how they handle the game after it releases. BHVR does not know how to support a live service game, and you can clearly see that from DbD itself. The game in 8 years got nothing to make the gameplay loop better we just had the endgame collapse, and then they called it a day until now with game modes that basically show that they have no clue how to fix the main mode and just beating a dead horse. IMO DbD need a major new gameplay mechanic disguised as a "health" chapter and skipping one content chapter just to stabilize itself. MyM is dead they abandoned it like deathgarden and the casting of frank stone will make good sales because it's a singleplayer story game and ofc the dbd fans will buy it as well as until dawn fans. Project T looks like a payday game which by itself is a good idea in the dbd universe but if the game won't make huge sales on release it's basically already dead in the water because all BHVR knows is how to make chapters that sell well and if they didn't sell enough well its dead. Here we are back from the start BHVR will fck it up and not know how to support project T correctly, makes the same mistakes as with MyM and DG and will be the third major dead title in BHVRs and our library. Will I buy those games? Hell yeah, I love the franchise. Will another live service game from BHVR fail? ofc and we all know that because all BHVR knows is money and dbd licenses.
@NickMorouney5 ай бұрын
Not even mentioning how Deathgarden failed technically multiple times was impressive. I don't have much hope for the new games considering they're starting to show that they can't even handle their biggest cash cow (DBD) properly anymore. People begging them to take a content release break to polish out bugs and add QoL features/changes during the last couple AMAs and getting told basically they have no plans to do that, gotta keep churning out cosmetics and half baked chapters to keep our money printers going is so damning.

I hope all of behaviors endeavors fail utterly and completely so that they can go back and fix the game that’s put their name on the map in the first place and actually fix issues that have been in the game for 8years. 8 fucking years. Why don’t we have coms. Etc etc
@bigboi10685 ай бұрын
comms would kind of ruin the experience in my opinion, as well as ruin any hope of playing casually for killers. Co-ordinated survivors in every single match would mean less people would play killer then there already is. Not a good idea at all.
@shinymew12135 ай бұрын
@@bigboi1068 well they should rebalance killer then. It’s just a fact that some people play in swfs. Playing in swf vs no swf or at least a duo is such a stark difference. Survivor when your entire team messes up and essentially sells because you can’t make a play ruins the game. This games biggest flaw is that when certain conditions are met it’s just completely unfun for one sided they need to first make things consistent then start to rebalance the game. The core gameplay loop as of now is either play coordinated in a swf or pray that your team has enough hours to understand what you’re trying to do telepathically. Or just play for yourself and play for hatch which some games u end up having to do. Against a good killer survivors are basically never escaping. Especially on some of the strong anti loop killers. If the game is consistent and survivors can com at the very least they can get gems done and make the most of their teamates looping or healing etc. Much of the games are lost because of survivor mistakes not because the killer is good. And it’s very frustrating. On the flip side when the survivors are really coordinated against an m1 killer or a killer that doesn’t have at least one slowdown perk it’s impossible to win. Sabos, flashlight saves. Long extended chases are common. Swf vs no def is like a switch for how one sided the game can be. But if they have built in mechanics to make killers more powerful but also give survivors coms the game is more about making good plays in coordinated effort as survivors which honestly is the core for eh game now instead of hoping the killer is trash enough or dumb enough to not play efficiently. But if it’s a set the killer basically has to pray the survivors mess up.

Update: I seem to have underestimated our community’s interest for something new.

Im a huge Supermassive fan and I completely agree that Until Dawn was the best game they've ever made, but I only think its because they have crazy budget and almost zero time crunch because it was so original nobody was looking forward to it. With their current games, they have a time crunch bc they have fans and need to make money bc their games dont have as good of a sponsorship like until dawn did with sony. I think this game is much more similar to Until Dawn in production terms than any other game theyve made. I really can't help but think about how so much of the issues with dbd could be alleviated if they just had a meaningful community presence. There is so much dissatisfaction with the developers and the game that it's no wonder that people go into the game with a negative attitude from the start and I absolutely believe that's a major contributor to the toxicity in the community. You look at a developer like Digital Extremes (who make Warframe) and love or hate the game, the majority of the playerbase looks really fondly at the developers right now and you get so many people defending the developer team and people who speak negatively about it don't seem to get even a fraction of the traction that they would with dbd. The community is there and the game has ample opportunity to grow and turn their reputation around but for some reason I can't understand, BHVR just refuses to tap into it.

If their studio doesn't respect the act of developing and through that, the talent their developers have (game modes are actually way more fun than the base game in its current form could ever be) then it unfortunately doesn't even matter if the community respects them. We're happy, they make more money, win win for everyone, but they just... won't, for some reason. The game won't be fixed by giving Feng Min her' 100th egirl skin, contrary to their belief. It's still new character with abilities which is already A LOT. I never played other games they released. I came here for horror, a little strategy and co-op with others and I guess other games or at least most of them are single player? MYM and this hook up game? I love DBD and the idea of making story game like Frank Stone speaks to me more than creating another universe like MYM. Frank will bring people together if the the lore will be good and if they will bring Frank cosmetics to the game. I just don't want to waste time on these other non horror games. It's not the horror I came for. It could work much better if they could use it in DBD by releasing "MYM chapter" with "MYM monster killer" that has all these different traps. They didn't use it! Which feels like a wasted opportunity. People only got t-shirts cosmetics out of that. This is sad. These marketing moves should be obvious right? Like look, this game has monsters too, we will bring them to our main game to promote smaller game we just released! or people design maps in MYM so why there is not a cosmic MYM map in DBD where they could from time to time show the best designed maps from MYM floating somewhere in the sky with the designers name? + I must say, after 2v8 is gone people forgot how to play. They keep dying. Game is boring and frustrating again like it used to be last year unbalanced. I am tired.

Their August PTB did look a little more promising, fixing/buffs some killers that needed it while also shifting around a couple of the trap perks, but these past few weeks of seeing nothing but negativitiy and hate... it sucks... I would love for the devs to take a chapter, or at most two chapters, to look into the game and fix everything... As far as the other games that Behaviour made, I have no interest in them... and after seeing this video and how almost all of them flopped for the same reason DBD is starting to flop (except Hooked on You), makes them less interesting.

I know this is unrelated but how do you get your game to look like this? Also yeah, I really dislike how slow behaviour takes to notice their glaring issues and cover it up with just more money. I didnt even know what the hell What The Fog was until this video.. I love DBD, but honestly it doesnt feel like Behaviour does

@@SF17777 Well okay so I play knight quite a lot and I don't see any problems with him, however the dude in the video was going on about how they did a change then for some reason made it worse last minute (or sum). Now I don't know what it was, but he seems fine to me 😅

I wish they’d pull an operation health like Rainbow Six Seige. Or even just pull a Fortnite and go dormant for a few weeks then release the game back as a stable product. I know this won’t happen but a man can dream. As for Meet Your Maker, the failure of the game could have been fixed if they just made it free to play and released monthly updates along with cosmetics like how Warframe does. Warframe has never done paid DLC besides prime packs which you can earn the warframes themselves in-game, albeit a little more grind is needed. And they do the complete opposite of DBD. They actually listen to feedback, they actually don’t rush updates, and they show the progress of the update with a dev stream after revealing the update. And they give twitch drops. You know for both being Canadian game studios DE and BHVR couldn’t be different on the morality scale. At least when DE makes mistakes they apologize and attempt to fix it. Edit: Nope DE did do DLC but it was far back during Warframe’s early days. The founder’s pack gave an exclusive Excalibur Prime out to people who purchased the pack. DE during this time was desperate for money to continue game development so it’s understandable. And It’s cool that Excalibur Prime is like a promise between the company and the older players since Excalibir Prime can’t be obtained outside of buying the founder's pack which was discontinuedd.

i mean we knew bhvr doesnt listen otherwise half the fucking changes they release that negatively impact killer would be as illogical as they are. For starters: in what world did it make sense to add an anti 3 gen system to the game, when it acted as a way to punish survivors for not spacing gens out. Adding the anti 3 gen mechanic literally MASSIVELY decreased the skill ceiling of survivor making the role more boring to play because they removed something that survivors needed to learn, and we as humans LIKE LEARNING THINGS it's scientifically proven, and removing this survivor skill made it more boring to play. In terms of Killer and how miserable it is to play currently, they never address the core issue of the game right now and that's how fast generators are. We would need to run all these gen defense perks if they just changed how generators worked. They literally need to completely rework the entire generator system, its shortcomings are very clearly rearing their ugly head and it shows just how miserable killer is to play lately.

I enjoyed how varied man of medan could be. It had meaningfully different endings and decisions all the way through. Little hope sucked and the ending shows why silent hill 2 deserves the praise it gets for narrative design. House of Ashes I liked except for the shitty relationship drama and it was more linear than I would have liked. The quarry didn't spend enough time with character building but imo would have been much better received with an actual ending... even a house of ashes style ending... it felt so slapped on and was super low effort. The devil in me, haven't played. Now for the controversial opinion... until dawn has a fantastic ending but the first half of the game is almost entirely linear and meaningless with characters that are just as badly written as any other supermassive game. Imo supermassive's big mistake was putting out so many games without a supernatural/scifi spin. This all said, little hope was the only one I felt wasted my time entirely. It has the least player choice, worst/easiest mechanics, worst twist (with hamfisted writing that made it clear by the half way point what they were going for) and a witch hunt theme that was just a hugely on the nose forced allegory so they could pretend that there was a threat at some point. A DBD partnership could be great though, the major issue imo is DBD is more cartoon horror costumed than actual horror themed imo.
