The Bianchi E-Omnia T-Type Step-Thru Nexus 5SP is a high performance urban speed pedelec with custom integrated lights, full length plastic fenders, powerful hydraulic disc brakes, a sturdy 15mm thru-axle, available in three sizes, two frame styles, and two colors. Sturdy reinforced frame, upgraded Marathon E Plus tires with puncture protection and reflectivity, wide Boost hub spacing on the fork, and reinforced rims. Custom integrated rear rack looks sleek and adds utility. Adjustable air suspension fork, suspension seat post, and overbuilt adjustable angle stem improves comfort for longer faster rides. I don’t think Bosch makes any throttle operated electric bikes in North America. Most European mid-drives are Class 1 or Class 3 like this. Check out DÖST for a quality mid drive with throttle and Speed Pedelec.

Interesting bike. I'm a big fan of the Bosch mid-drives. I have no problem with the lower power since I want to provide a lot of power myself. I don't want a throttle, so the lack of one is my preference. Nice size battery. Not crazy about the battery cover, and I'd prefer the Enviolo rear hub, or even better a Rohloff option.

Rohloff is my favorite as well, but they do end up being a lot more expensive. Have you tried either the Rohloff or enviolo? This INTER5 isn't bad, light and pretty crisp to shift.

@@ElectricBikeReview I've tried both Rohloff and enviolo at a nearby Riese & Muller dealer. I need the gear range of the Rohloff for the long-distance rides with significant climbing I have planned after I retire. Colorado, Montana, Utah, etc.

It's a great setup for durability at a very impressive price point, in my opinion. Neat that they also sell in high step and the deep wave step-thru frame for those who want it. It comes with the suspension seat post, nice adjustable stem, almost overkill on the fenders... pretty sweet setup.

Great review !! I have the exact same drivetrain on my Bulls bike and I am surprised by how wide the gear range is. Don’t be so negative about the gearing.

Love your reviews, mate. On the fence with this or the Zen Samurai (base model). Similar specs in many areas, but you've ridden both. Did you prefer one? If so, why?

Nice, it's cool that you've heard of the Zen Samurai! I really liked that bike and the founder Ravi. He spent a bunch of time and energy designing it and making it customizable. While Bianchi is a bigger company with more models, Zen has that small company "we care a lot" feel to them. I honestly think you could be happy with both, and it might come down to design or little hardware trade-offs. They offer a similar experience. I'm sure you could actually call Zen and speak with Ravi and actually discuss this with him if you wanted to. He's very humble, loves ebikes, and will help you navigate the decision without being too biased. I think he would just be happy for you and excited that you're into electric bikes!

250 Watts, 36 volts, 16 AH. This is not meant to be used by anyone who is not in top shape. Cort, you should have riden out 20 miles and told us how tired you were while using the lower PAS modes.

It's the Atran Velo System (AVS). Cortina uses it a lot. It took me a while to find out but I use the Cortina pannier myself now and it works fine. Not too big, so it doesn't look too bad.

Those rear light will definitely be blocked with side panniers but it doesn’t seem that there is any way of attaching panniers so I guess they don’t expect them.

Yeah, I wasn't clear on how that would work. I suspect you can add a clip-on platform on top of the rear rack with side rails. Perhaps that would elevate pannier bags enough that they wouldn't block the entire light. The thing stretches up pretty far, so perhaps it would peek out a bit.

The system they use is called avs (atran velo system). Cortina bikes use this system a lot and sell panniers that will fit on this system.

The bike is spec'd out well. The bad, no throttle. If im paying $4.6k, it must have one. Thats one of the best looking frames ive seen in awhile. I only buy 48v Ebikes. 36v seems like im getting short changed for the money, 52v is unnecessary for my needs. However, if someone came out with a 52v City Commuter with at least 14ah batty, i would be tempted to buy it.

Voltage has become less of a focus for me with these high powered mid-drives. With 85nm of torque, this thing will climb beyond what the tires can grab and what I can steer up as long as I've shifted to an appropriate gear. 48 volt might be a little more efficient for power flow, but I think Bosch and others recycle 36 volt because they've used it on their global products (which have some European limits around top speed and power). All things considered, the Performance Line Speed motor is very capable, although it does not have a throttle. Same with all of the Shimano, Brose, MAHLE, and Yamaha products.

@@jcoats5529 Ive had Ebikes since 2016. I ride mostly in PAS1. I use the throttle from a dead stop, at stop lights, signs or to move quickly from being hit by a car when needed. When you commute on City streets, a throttle is a must.

Nice list there! My own personal ranking would be BULLS, HAIBIKE, KTM, Focus, and then Giant. I really love Haibike, but they around North America as much as they used to be, so it has been a while since I've looked at them. The good news is that they used Bosch so you'd get support at many dealers. I will continue to emphasize you change you video recording recording from 60 frames down to 30. The picture quality is essentially the same but the file size is greatly reduced which means you will get more people to watch your videos. For example; compare this video (MP4) which is 17 mins and 54 seconds has a file size of 735 MB to "Gazelle Ultimate C380 Electric Bike Review" by Propel YT channel where the video is 26 mins and 28 seconds but the 1080p video is only 234 MB (In this scenario, I am only comparing the file size and bandwidth usage - not viewership).

A shock designed strictly for off road control, not on road comfort and way, way too heavy. Tiny, low powered battery in a frame that is an embarrassment to The Bianchi heritage (they haven't made straight gauge aluminum frames on their performance bikes in 30 years). IGH or not, with that lightweight motor and battery, there is no excuse for this bike weighing more than 50#'s.

I hear you. For me, the air fork offers better adjustability than a quality spring fork. It might need to be re-sagged more often, and maybe it costs more, but I like the black stanchions and Boost setup.
