I have been drooling over those Crossway journaling Bibles for a couple of years!! Fun to see and hear how you use them. I'm also a journal-er and have lots and lots of words (my husband can testify!). Here's my tip for a practice that I started about 4 years ago when I received a new Bible: I use a yellow Crayola colored pencil and as I work through a book of the Bible I color over every reference to a member of the Trinity (proper names and pronouns). I also draw little red hearts with a red Crayola colored pencil over 'heart' or 'love' (and their variations). This practice came out of my years of Inductive Bible study classes, but I simplified it. I always found all those colors and symbols distracting, but just marking the members of the Trinity has been incredible. The Bible TRULY is God's story, and He really is woven into the fabric of the entire Bible. Our Sunday school class works through an entire book every 6-8 months. Our pastor preaches through entire books. AND for our family devotions we read through entire books together. During each of those experiences I've marked the Trinity. Now when I flip through my Bible I can SEE all of the books that I've read. Before I started doing this I felt like I never read my Bible. Which is weird, because I knew I had study times, but it just felt like I didn't do enough. Now I can literally SEE what I've read, which is encouraging! (SEE?! LOTS of words!) lol!

Ahhhhh I love all of this so much 🧡 I love the idea of marking specific things in your Bible consistently…what an amazing way to see the continuity of the Word from beginning to end! Thank you for sharing this idea…I love it so much! And I love that fact that you have lots of words too ☺️ Remember our lunch together…we could have stayed for days I think 🧡
