AND it is the same exact pagination and layout as the LSB Giant Print Reference edition which I love! So I can leave the GPR at home and have the portable edition on the go and everything is exactly where I’m used to it being. I have the Italian cowhide on order and can’t wait. The GPR and the PPR are the perfect duo for me to finish out the remainder of my days down here. 👍

I agree that they get a lot of things right such as the paper weight, size of font, size of the Bible, binding etc. I really hope crossway and others take a close look at the LSB.

Thanks for the review! The LSB has been growing on me. I have the larger hardback Inside Column Reference (also printed in Korea), and other than a wrinkled blank page at the front of the volume, it is a nicely done book. Never having had a really nice quality Bible, I have splurged on the Royal Jongbloed version of this PPR (with the Five-Solas spine). According to 316 Publishing, these are now en-route from the Netherlands. I'll drop a comment here when I get mine.

On one level, the text is what counts regardless of the binding, but oh...handling this one is a pleasure, and the details of the printing, design, and paper combine to make it very easy to read. I like having a number of editions . NIV, NASB, NKJV are what I currently have. It’s good to cross reference. I will get this edition, as long as the font size is reasonable.

I usually don't care for the paragraph format because, most of the time, the verse numbers blend in with the words, making them difficult for me to find. I immediately noticed that they really made the verse numbers very bold which, as you said, make it really easy to find the verses. I also like the size, the thumb index, and red letter. The fact that they also packed in references is amazing. I don't mind not having gold or silver guilding on the pages. I would feel less guilty tossing this Bible into my handbag to use when I am out and about. Yes, the price took me back at first, but after seeing all of the features, and seeing the font size, I really need to consider adding this one to my collection. Thank you so much for your review. :)

I got this in the Black Calfskin, been using it the last couple days. Leather is so supple and korean paper is great, feels like a premium even tho paste down (thankfully vinyl). Instant fav and should go the distance...well constructed.

I had a pre-order for the black camouflage with black edging. Received it about a week ago. It’s the best of my smallish bibles. I am 68 years old and would like to have a 10 point font but the 9.5 is going to work.

Why not question the Triquetra symbol on the cover, though? The Celtic triangle, or triple knot, was believed to create an unbreakable circle of protection. It symbolizes the fact that the physical, mental and spiritual are all intertwined. Apart from being the symbol of Odin during Pagan times, it is also the symbol of the mother goddess and moon goddess.

Very nice Bible! I would consider buying this edition but I already have a giant print reference edition and indexed. Mine isn’t red letter (except for title headings) but I can take it or leave it with red letter.

Love a green or blue bible lol. Would love to have a portable bible, but I'm afraid I'm spoiled with size 11 font. Not aure I'd like a 9.5 font. Although I'm pleasantly surprised that it's as large as it is.

I really like this text block. A couple things to note as a rebinder is that the fact that these inexpensive editions don't have gold gilding. That is a big miss in my opinion. Even $20 Crossway bibles have gilding at that much lower price point. Another thing to note, as far as aesthetics, is that on most pages the reference suite takes up almost 25%. Other than those two significant issues I think this bible is a win. That Korean paper is fantastic.

Can’t see myself choosing a green Bible, myself. But otherwise this one looks amazing and worth the price for a Bible you can easily carry around and fit in any bag! There really aren’t many quality options available among Bibles this small!

You can get a cheap bible and still have gold edges. I have an NLT that does and the LSB is suppose to such a wonderful version. Steadfast sure could make the effort.

The only question I have is are they going to update/revise this translation for a 3rd time? When I got the HCSB, there was a number of errors and grammar and other problems so I switched back to my NKJV, NASB95, ESV versions. Then, years later, they did the CSB but was not the same as the HCSB. But I did see the HCSB was revised a number of times, up to 2009. So I got that one. Similar with the ESV and CSB. So, my question is if I should hold off on getting the LSB until they are "settled" on that one being "finished" or is the 2nd edition the staying one?

They do. There are quite a few options for the portable paragraph reference, the one I preordered months ago was the blue goatskin full yapp with red under gold gilding.

@@Matthew-307 Oh, yes--those are lovely, but way too expensive for me. I was talking about this particular edition (which I own and love). The black camo edition, for example, has black page edging, and it's a red letter, faux leather like this one. This Bible would have been even more awesome with a green edging on it.

Because Celtic Christians claimed the symbol when they converted by defining it as representing the trinity. Was that correct for them to do? Not sure, but that is why some Christians still use it. I use it to seal my letters with wax.

No. A lot of names were messed up in the English translation, unfortunately, it's like nails on a chalkboard isn't it? But we have to consider the general usage of certain names and their pronunciation in English and how it would be confusing to communicate if we just changed names of a book in the Bible. I'm currently satisfied with the fact that LSB chose to use Yahweh instead of LORD.

I really don’t like the way you are trying to sell the Bible, you’re constantly trying to justify the price and the value. The LSB is on of the translations I consider primary, but please just review the Bible. And yes the lack of gilding for that price based on other comparable offerings in the market is absurd! That said, if they can get the price right it might be a good option, but you could get two different translations in as nice or nicer binding for about the price you are pushing the Bible for. Also, yes inflation is a real problem right now, but the 316 Bibles were already on the higher side of pricing comparably, not preclusively so but still.
