I gave my Westminster Regular print to my grand nephew. Thinking of getting this to replace. I can still read smaller print but larger just easier on my eyes for extended periods.

I didn't realize TBS published the standard size Westminster in hardback. I've grown to appreciate hardback Bibles more recently, particularly for how little space they take up standing upright on my desk and how easy they are to access. To get to a softcover, I often have to excavate a stack of Bibles. But with a hardback, I simply pull it from the shelf. In addition to all that, hardbacks are less expensive. All that pontificating aside, I enjoyed your review.

In my opinion, the 4 column layout with notes and references on each side is the absolute best format I have ever used.

It would be difficult to disagree with that! I think as far as modern KJV Bibles go this is probably my favourite. 👍👌

They really keep their bibles reasonable and great quality. it is 11.8 font. No red lettering, yea! I love reading it in bed. I wish Thompson Chain would come with larger font and no red lettering. I would love a concordance.

I definitely am going to get one, maybe in hard cover though. This is a great organization to support, they get the scriptures out in the hands of those that need it. I just became a member of the trinitarian bible society. They are doing the Lords work.

Just got one a few weeks ago here on Murica. I like it. It definitely had a smell to it, but went away. The chapter summaries are really good, to-the-point. I would recommend this edition to anyone who wants a desk or lap bible. May not ideal for everyday carry for everyone.

Very nice. I love the 4 column format and the paper they use. I am a bit disappointed that they removed the concordance but it’s not a dealbreaker. I do have the regular size edition and I think I will still get the large print. I really like TBS Bibles. Their calfskin is really nice and I love that it has 4 ribbons... thank you for another great review. God bless.

You’re very welcome! It’s a beautiful Large Print, so relaxing to read and study from! The concordance only matters on a smaller Bible that you’re likely to take to church tbh. God bless!

So with regards to the standard size print are the references just as easy to read? I don't have poor eyesight yet but I only want to buy one of these. At this point I have enough premiums to not care whether I get hardback, large, or standard. I don't think this will be my main bible unless something really pulls me in. I think I am going to purchase it based on the bells and whistles it has along with the tons of references. If you were to only get one, knowing what you know now, which would you get and why? Also do you still feel the same way about this bible? It's been 4 years so you might have different thoughts. I can find plenty of them here in the states. Regarding the hardback, are there the same amount of references? Is the paper the same gsm/ghosting, etc? Does the hardback lay open flat like it's leather brothers? That's what matters most I think.
@BurtonBibles2 жыл бұрын
I recommend the hardback, it lies nice and flat and is really good value for money. References in my opinion are fine for most eyes. Yes I still love this Bible!

A lovely bible, Mark. If we all live long enough (assuming that the Lord tarries), we may all need a large print like his one. Regarding the lack of a concordance... I don't think this is as big an issue as it may have been a few years ago. With the advent of tablet PC's and smartphones, you can easily look up a word or scripture verse when necessary without the added bulk of a printed concordance. And I believe that Schuyler's personal size Quentels and Canterbury bibles don't include concordances either, and they are selling quite well.
@guymontag3496 жыл бұрын
... oops! ...this one, not his one. Sorry 'bout that.
@BurtonBibles6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Guy yes I agree, I thought about it later and thought that due to the size of the Bible it will be studied at a desk or preached from in all likelihood. The standard size has a concordance though which makes more sense as it will be taken to Bible readings, study sessions and teaching meetings, so a concordance will be handy!

The size of the Large Print is ca. 18,8 / 26,5 cm, which makes it virtually exactly the same as Midsize Turquoise Reference Bible from Church Bible Publishers (USA). Personally I think this is the best, optimal size for the bible apart from the fact that numbers 26 and 18 are associated with directly with God the Father (26) and Jesus Christ (18) :-) BTW. The Standard Reference Bible from TBS is of very much the same size as the Handsize Turquoise Reference Bible from Church Bible Publishers. It also has virtually the same font size - 9.6 thought a different type of the font, which may influence the readability.
@BurtonBibles6 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin if you’re referring to the Classic Reference Bible from TS, this is simply the Cambridge Personal Concord rebadged for TBS. It’s a nice Bible in itself.

I believe some or all of the 200,000 references in the TBS Westminster are derived from the famed Self Interpreting Bible by John Brown of Haddington.
