Did anyone think that hedge-trimming was their phone vibrating at first? 😳 I did while editing until I remembered what happened 🤣thanks for bearing with me on that! 🙈 Now let’s hear it, which verse(s) stood out to you most, and why? What are you learning in this series? 💛

I love verses 8-10 where it talks about loving your neighbor as yourself. I find this especially important in today's world. With everything going on it's so easy for people to talk about or comment such hurtful things to people when they don't agree with someone's thoughts. Things Jesus would never say & that isn't showing that we love our neighbors as ourselves. It's so important to remember that Jesus would love us all and we should try to be more like Him by loving everyone, even those with opposing views.

I really really love these studies!! They get me excited to spend time in the word with God! James 2:12-13 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment. This really hit me hard. I love the saying 'give the grace you desire to receive from Jesus' and I see that here. Also James 2:19 - I literally wrote woah in my bible and loved your reaction as well!

What stood out to me was James 2:22 > this his completed faith (faith in action) was why God called him a friend. God delights in our submissiveness to Him.

I looove these Bible studies, thank you so much! I’ve been slowly working on my relationship with God for the past year. It’s hard, because I don’t feel comfortable studying my Bible openly at home as my parents are very sceptical and harsh towards Christianity. But despite that, I have been brave enough to go to church a couple of times and I have a wonderful church worker and a family friend praying for me and my journey. I am so grateful for them and for you, because now it feels like I found a friend my age who can speak to me about the Bible in an accessible way. I am reading and highlighting along with you. 🥰🥰 thanks again!

Oh my goodness what an amazing comment, Amber! Praise God that He is drawing you near to Him, and I so commend your bravery to pursue Him even if your parents are skeptical and harsh towards Christianity. Who knows how He might use YOU to be a light in their lives as they see the transformation He is bringing about in yours 😊Keep pursuing Him faithfully, He will work in incredible ways in your life 🙌🏼I'm so happy to have you along for this study, and thank you for this encouraging comment! 💛

“If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” James 2:15-16 ESV These verse stood out to me. Well the phrase “poorly clothed and lacking in daily food” I take this phrase as those who don’t know Jesus or his word. For his word is our daily bread. And clothes cover us just like how Jesus covers us. It’s our duty as Christian to share the word to those tht don’t know him. Praise God.

I have really been enjoying this series. Although everything really fed me today, what especially stood out to me was 13:27-13:45 . The fact that God used a prostitute is such a reminder of how He intentionally uses any of us, no matter what our status, as long as we are willing. Rahab moved by faith, and accomplished saving the lives of others by that act of faith and the movement of works, even though she could have stalled or gave up, feeling unqualified because of her status. It is so evident of the importance not to judge or mock or condescend because you never know who may be helping you when the time comes. And you never know what God has planned in their life to move in them. We are not worthy but yet Jesus comes to put us on the same level, and loves us each the same. What a beautiful blessing.

Please please please continue to do more of these. This has been an answered prayer. I have been asking God to help me read/study/understand his word because I kept on struggling and this is it. Diving into each chapter and fully understanding what God is speaking is what I’ve been praying for. I finally have a guide to doing a chapter a day for each book and am so blessed by it. I thank God for putting this page in my life and can’t wait to watch the remaining Books Studies

What I got from the chapter is that sometimes I will judge others in order to "protect myself". That is only the surface though, and it really boils down to that sometimes I don't reach out to help others in need because of the energy that I feel is sometimes wasted. Here's the kicker though: Usually I judge others for things that I have done or are doing myself. Thank you for doing these studies. I am at a weird conversion spot in my faith and life in general, so it is nice to be able to study with someone any time I can.

Good morning, really enjoyed this video and your reasoning on faith and works. Some may say all you need is faith, however, although that may be well meaning, we are clearly shown that we must also show our faith by our actions. Christ death allows us to have the opportunity to be saved but we must have faith and show that faith by our actions in order to receive that grace from God. We must show we love him. It’s like if we told someone we loved them but never showed it in our actions. Would that person really feel we sincerely loved them? Good food for thought ❤️

I think the Bible verse is not saying that it's wrong to judge, but I think it's saying that it's wrong to judge based on richness/poorness, which is a worldly distinction. When someone judges based on social status, race, gender, etc, and not by the Word of God alone, that's what makes a judge's thoughts evil, and not the act of judging per se. Thanks for these videos, they are helping me with my Bible study of James. You got a new subscriber.

I think people fail to understand what James is really talking about. He's not pointing out that you're not to judge anybody because if you break one you break them all. What he's pointing out is being partial in Christ. You are claiming to be of Christ and the epitome of Christ's teachings was to love your neighbor as you love yourself. So if you keep every single law but yet you murdered your brother you have now broken the Royal law, love your neighbor as you love yourself thus you are being partial in Christ. That's why he goes on to explain that even Devil's believe that there is a God. But you know what a devil will not do? He will not love his neighbor as he loves himself AKA keep the law 1st John 3 8-10. So James is telling you if you're going to have faith in Christ and be of Christ then keep the entirety of the law. Because faith without works is dead and you'll just be a devil who knows that there's a God. Otherwise, you're going to be judged without Mercy because you showed no mercy AKA love to your brother by keeping the laws statutes and Commandments. Which is referring back to the example that he gave in the first few verses about being partial to somebody because they are rich which is breaking the law Leviticus 19:15. So the whole point is don't be one-sided, don't just have faith, don't just say that you believe in Christ but prove it by doing works by keeping the law by loving your neighbor as you love yourself. If you are going to claim that you are in Christ and have faith but you don't honor the hoary head by standing up when they enter the room Leviticus 19:32 then you're being partial. If you claim that you are in Christ and have faith but you have casual sex with a woman but won't marry her Exodus 22:16 then you are being partial. If you claim that you're in christ and have faith but you tell people that you don't have to keep all of God's laws even to the smallest commandment Matthew 5:19 then you're being partial. Stop being partial and say and DO.

@suzannsauseda57722 жыл бұрын
The Bible states that there are two ways to judge others. One way is to judge their motives, which is sinful. The other way is to judge their actions, which is right to do. The Bible Does Say It Is Sin to Judge Other People’s Motives (Matthew 7:1-2) The Bible Does Say Christians Are to Judge Other Christian’s Sinful Actions (Matthew 7:3-5) Jesus didn’t say it is wrong to judge Christians when they have specks of sin in their lives. He didn’t say it was hypocritical to judge other Christians. He said it would be hypocritical if we didn’t first judge ourselves. Jesus then states that we should help remove specks of sin from our fellow Christians’ lives. In Corinthians 4:4-5 the Bible says not to judge others because it is referring to motives. In 1 Corinthians 5:12-13, the Bible says to judge other Christians because it is referring to external sins. A few quick qualifying points about 1 Corinthians 5:12-13: a person who claims to be a Christian. Christians are only to judge other Christians’ external sins, not the sins of unbelievers (1 Corinthians 5:9-11). The Bible passage is referring to a Christian who is in an unrepentant, ongoing sin (1 Corinthians 5:1-2). When a Christian repents of their sin, even if they must repent often, we are not to judge them. We are only to execute judgment on those who claim to be a Christian and yet refuse to repent of sin.
