I have two of the Cameo's in Waterbuffalo calfskin, and 2 Concordain goatskin. These were printed in the UK. I have 2 of the Turquoise in blue printed in the Netherlands. They are all really nice but my eyes prefer the larger print of the Turquoise now...

Thanks for the great review comparison. Last week I received my KJV Concord Marbled Mahogany full yapp. It’s lovely! I have been considering a Turquoise for some time. You’ve helped with the decision making process. The font size is a plus! Excited about the goatskin! Love my Cambridge goatskin ESV Heirloom. Floppy leathers are the best! I do prefer red letter, double column, center reference, so this will be perfect! Blessings to you brother❣️

High Randy, I amm itching to buy a Cambridge Turquoise KJV bible, but I already have a CBP mid-size water Buffalo platinum readers edition KJV bible with the turquoise text. Based on many video that I watched on the Cambrige, I am hearing that the Cambridge is superior. Is there a big difference between these two bible interms of clarity and text legibility?
@BibleBuyingGuide2 жыл бұрын
There is. The CBP uses a lower-quality scan and a cheaper printer and printing method than Cambridge.
@snowpuppy774 жыл бұрын
As always your reviews help us know what we need to know about these Bibles. Much appreciated! I personally do find the font of the Concord difficult to read compared to the Turquoise and even the CBP Text only 180. To me a perfected Bible would the the Turquoise with the exact same font and layout except for having bold cross references like the Concord. I have not used my goatskin Concord very much and it has no writing or markings. I have thought about either selling it or giving it to someone who is wanting one but can't afford one.

I saw a review of the KJV Turquoise that pointed out a typo in Luke 11:53 (provoke is misspelled). I am wondering if Cambridge corrected that error. Would you mind looking at your copy and letting me know? Thanks!

Hi Pastor Wayne. It has proyoke.

@@BibleBuyingGuide, thanks for you response. I learned from Evangelical Bible that the misspelling cannot be corrected because the Turquoise is a reprint of there 1920's hot metal press typesetting. With the said, that one misspell is not, at least it should not be, a dealbreaker...

What is your opinion between the Cambridge turquoise and the Cambridge large print kjv. Is one more readable than the other. I get that it’s the font and the line spacing that makes a difference
@BibleBuyingGuide Жыл бұрын
I find the Large Print slightly more readable because it doesn't include cross-reference and footnote keys in the text. Other than that, the text is the same. The Turquoise paper looks better, though.

Thank you for the review. Maybe it’s too late to comment now, but I really want to know what choice you’ll make between Cambridge Concord and TBS Westminster😉
@BibleBuyingGuide4 жыл бұрын
That's a tough choice for me. I keep going back and forth between them. I prefer the darkness of the Concord font, but the sharpness of the Westminster font. For references, the Westminster wins, but I like that the Concord doesn't have the reference keys in the text. I prefer the overall size of the Concord. Its dictionary is handy. If references is the goal, I'd go with the Westminster. If preaching was the goal, I'd go with the Concord. If it was the only resource I had access to, I'd have to choose between references and the dictionary. I'm still not sure.
@timcohen14824 жыл бұрын
@@BibleBuyingGuide Thank you for your reply.Both of them are excellent bibles that could be purchased today, so it’s too tough to choose. Matching Westminster with Personal Concord might be a better choice, one for reading and one for carrying 🤪

Beware! Make sure that Luke 17:34 says ...two in one bed, NOT two "men" in one bed. And the original verse also should say, two women grinding flour/ grain at the mill. The corrupted KJVB now reads.. two women "grinding," which is a lesbian sex act. My KJVB has the corrupted verses in it. I can't seem to find an uncorrupted KJVB anywhere. Help!
@BibleBuyingGuide3 жыл бұрын
To anyone curious, this is the modern slang usage for "grind". The KJV used it in its original, and still valid, usage of grinding flour or meal at a mill. Here's the Hebrew word and definition: 229 avlh,qw aletho {al-ay'-tho} Meaning: 1) to grind Origin: from the same as 224;; v Usage: AV - grinding 2; 2 Misc: It was the custom to send women and female slaves to the mill houses to turn the hand mills.
