Got married on the feast day of St. Xenia (Feb. 06). In a way, she is a patron of our family. It wasn't planned (by us), but someone above surely had a hand in that.

I think it's referencing this event from the Bible when the Prophet Elisha (Elijah's friend) was mocked. "23And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them. 25And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria." -4 Kingdoms (2 Kings)

Can someone help me understand how to say her name correctly. Saint Xenia is actually my patron saint, and the funny thing is I can say my own name right no matter how hard I try. I used to say Ex-zen-ya I don’t know how to pronounce her name correctly and it saddens me so much because she is my patron saint. Is it like this ( sec-nee-uh) ?

I wonder, theologically, what do you think happened to her husband, since she at least tried to bear his sins, so he might be allows into Heaven too?

There is no theological answer to this. God alone judges.

It is also a unlawful to work on the sabbath, but sometimes for the sake of righteousness there are higher purposes than the law. St. Xenia is not the only female saint who took on masculine roles at times for the cause of Christ.

Saint Xenia... The trans-non-sexual? I don't even know how to call that... She dressed as a man, without sexual intentions and only holy intentions in mind... Also is walking barefoot all time just for fun drawing or a real thing? Anyway... Loved the story. Keep up the good work!

@@rogerreyne1877 How can you be "trans-non-sexual"... If it's not sexual, then it's not trans... It's just dress-up... I didn't expect anyone to think it's anything but a joke... Sorry for making you feel bad xD The question on weather she was always barefooted is a real one I would ask even outside of a joke... It could be that he drew that for the simple fact to make it look light-hearted, but might be something important in the life of that saint... Despite this I said even that as a joke xD
