If the word "fight" distracts you, feel free to use a different one. It's a minor issue. My point was that even though it is a gift (Galatians 5:22), it's something we are to work for. You can see Paul teach this in 2 Corinthians 1:24 "we are fellow WORKERS with you for your joy". Also faith and joy in God are very closely related and you can see Paul telling Timothy to "Fight the good fight of the faith." in 1 Timothy 6:12.

Thank you for this! My name is Joy. It was prophesied that my name would be so before I was born. But a lot of my life has been spent in what we now call 'toxic positivity'; I believed falsely that I had to always be happy and smiling because that's what everyone always noticed & praised about me and I was afraid to be anything else for fear of judgement. I don’t live in Canada, but I listen to online sermons from Canadian speakers and they are having a really hard time with the government making Christianity illegal over there, but those pastors are experiencing joy because they have been gifted the gospel. Those pastors inspired be to experience joy in that sort of way too, so I praise God for that! Someday Christianity might become illegal in my country and I shall rejoice 🙏

In my many years as a Christian, I have not paid attention to joy and have given into trying to fix things my way. Lately though, through a Christian book club I have learned how important it is to focus on my joy with the Lord in spite of many trials I am going through. I have to say it has helped me so much to literally shift my thinking from doom and gloom to joy in a matter of seconds my worries and anxiety lifts and my perspective of the situations changes for the better. Thank you Bible Project for helping us all get closer to these concepts that are hard to grasp. It's great to see the children of Israel following Moses used as a good example for once! May we too shout for joy in prospect of our destiny and treasure in heaven, and the covering of the Lord's hand in our journey here in a dually beautiful and dreary world, if we will keep his commandments. Faith in the Lord Christ causes joy on our hearts, its a gift of the spirit that comes with the perspective of God's plan of salvation. I love these videos, I've been reading the Bible fervently lately, but have struggled to stay focused when listening (I listen to an audio version) and have a hard time finding time to sit down and read. Listening to these videos, on the other hand, is incredibly engaging and I feel like I'm learning A LOT, very quickly, about the books that I've been struggling to learn on my own. When I go back to read or listen to the books that I'd previously struggled with, I have a much better sense of what's happening and can follow much more easily after watching or listening to these wonderful videos.

this is sooo true. unfortunately to to many people have believed the lie that Hollywood puts definitions to word like love, joy,, peace and success, etc etc. The correct understanding of what the real definition of words would be a great place to begin to transform most of the people sitting in the seats every Sunday. Then maybe we can begin the True building of God's army against the enemy thats been sitting in the seats next to everyone on Sunday and would be evicted from Gods people once and for all. I was just thinking about this about an hour ago. Thinking about my unhappiness, but at the same time thinking how happy I was to have god in my life, and to want to be a part of his kingdom on earth and in heaven.

Sometimes when I'm praying, reading my bible, learning about Gods word(like via these videos :D particularly at the end) , or just in deep thought and I have a "ah ha" moment when the answer I was looking for is given to me or I just feel at peace out of nowhere while being upset I'll get this intense tingling all over my body and my hairs stand on end all over and my heart races and I feel sooo happy and that, to me is God or one of his Angels letting me know "Hey, I'm here and I love you. I love you more than you'll ever know. I won't abandon you. I know you truly love and fear me and you worship me in your own special way. Now be at peace and try to talk to me more often won't you?" And I just start tearing up and my faith in life is no longer shaken. I remember when I first really started to believe and then I remeber when i first started talking to God and not just praying but talking. I always wanted answers or signs that he was there. I would say "God show me a sign or change something in my life to let me know, please!" That was 9 years ago and throughout those 9 years my faith in God has come and gone but always come back stronger and stronger, thank God. And as my faith in God got stronger and I grew through pain and struggles always, in the end at least, turning to God strange things began to happen. I can feel God and good things happen to me. I soon began to realise that God had actually began to fulfill that request that I asked for all those years ago. It's been happening for maybe 3 years now and it's just keeps getting more intense and the good things just keep getting more spectacular. Man! I love God!
