Anyone who studies the Bible can see that Roman Catholicism is obviously Un-Biblical but it's always been a guidepost of mine that ANY organization that claims to the the True Church, probably preaches a false Gospel primarily because the object of one's faith then becomes the church organization instead of Jesus the Christ himself. I'm not very familiar with "Church of Christ" doctrine. Am I to understand from this sermon that "Church of Christ" belief is that they are the "True Church"? I heard this a few times and was quite surprised at that possible teaching. It seems obvious to me that any person who knows who God is (Biblical Trinitarianism or at the very least the plurality of the one God), and knows Jesus as God and Lord and who trusts in Him only, for the remission of sin, is of the household of God. How can there be only one organization that is of that household?

Your comments on the Catholic understanding of baptism are just silly. Please read this: www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p2s2c1a1.htm Your comments on the Church are silly. Jesus didn't leave us with a Bible. The first book of the Bible didn't appear until 15 years after the death of Jesus. If Jesus built his Church as a product of the Bible, why did he wait almost centuries after his Resurrection to do so? Where all those early Catholics being martyred not part of a Church? And how could you possibly know which books belong in the Bible unless you have a Church to decide? There were no universally accepted O.T. Scriptures. What counted as Scripture for Jews depended on which sect you were part of. It was Catholic bishops and popes at a Catholic Council which recognized which of these O.T. Scriptures are God-breathed. The same is true of the N.T. There were Christians who had been reading many books -- most of which are very profitable and worthy writings -- at Mass (!!!) that the Church claimed as inspired that the Church recognized as not inspired. And there were books that some Christians claimed as not inspired that the Church recognized are inspired. Please respond to these two points if you'd really like to share your faith with a Catholic.

Here are a few verses that describe how Jesus and the Apostles stopped debate and respected the beliefs of other religions: John 5:39 1 Peter 3:15 2 Corinthians 10:5 Titus 1:9 Acts 2:22-43 Hebrews 2:3-4 1 Corinthians 15 Matthew 28:19-20 So the question I have for you Ian, is should we follow the examples and commands of Jesus and the Apostles or should we just keep our mouths shut and not share the saving power of Christ?

The advice would be to steer clear of discussions/debates/arguments about all religion. You aren't there to discuss religious systems, you are there to discuss the word of God/Christ with others. One doesn't need to belong to any religion to be saved. Keep pointing the person away from arguing and to the cross of Jesus- letting them know, that he suffered for their sins- suffered tremendously infact. Point out that Jesus loves us and is patient with us, and will never turn us away when we finally go to him for salvation, no,matter how badly we have messed up our lives, he will always accept us IF we stop trying to,save ourselves, and turn to him in surrender, knowing finally, that self-salvation is impossible. Tell them that if they truly seek salvation, that Jesus is standing by to receive them, waiting patiently for them to come to the realization that they can not save th3mselves no matter how many good deeds they may do because all it takes is 1 sin in our lives to make,us guilty- and if any man says he has no sin he is a liar. Explain to them that when a person accepts christ as savior, they become clean of all sin and stand blameless before God when it comes to eternity. (This will of course bring up the argument "well if we are now sinless, then we can do whatever we want and not be guilty- but this isn't true. We still have to pay for sins after salvation, ie, go to prison, become addicts if we mess with drugs, etcetcetc- but it doesn't mean we lose our salvation, because our decision to stop trying to save ourselves and put our trust is Jesus to save us is an eternal relationship that can not be broken- God gives us that assuarance- but try to steer clear of this discussion as people love to try to argue that we must "maintain our salvation", and a discussion of this sort needs to have its own topic as it is important- but for the discussion of Jesus's love for us, the focus is entirely on how much Jesus loves us, and how much he wants us to be with him in heaven for eternity- no matter how foul our life have been before salvation. Remember, God saved murderers (Paul being one of them), prostitutes (Mary being one previously), tax collectors who were hated and who cheated people, thieves on and on it goes. He even saved people out of religions that were so vile that they sacrificed their children to false gods, engaged in the most immoral behaviors right in their temples, and who murdered Christians. Noone is beyond salvation except for those whom God has turned over to their own debaucheri3s because their hearts became so hardened agaisnt him that they would never be saved. (But be careful as only God can know, who will never ask for salvation, and know who to turn over to their sins) Anyways, the topic is God's love, not which religion is best, or which church practice is needed etc- when discussions turn to such arguments, it takes the focus off of Jesus' love and puts it on man's traditions. The discussion needs to stay focused on Jesus and his word.
