I believe this 100%. The Bible that it takes more than praying John 3:16. You still have to live in God’s word. Saying a prayer is nothing if you don’t want to change and live wholeheartedly for Jesus. You have to have change in your everyday life to be more like him. We don’t conform to the world. This is powerful

Jesus teaches that we must abide in His word and that starts with Baptism into The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. After that we must live a life of obedience to His word. We must meditate on the word, recievebit into our heart and live by it. He who does that and endure until the end will be saved.

Thank you. I'm so tired of debating the simplicity of salvation. If we're supposed to imitate Christ, He is baptized.... so it must be important. Then, after that, the Father openly declares a pleased event, and more signs happen right after. So it must be important.

No. That's where daily repentance of sins is necessary, regardless of how bad the sin was. Because when you are baptized, the old you is dead and the new is alive.

Salvation is not a quick 1, 2, 3 formula that most church leaders teach today. No, the Believer must go down the 'proverbial' rabbit hole to be saved. Salvation is not a prayer. It is not about believing Jesus is the son of God. Jesus did not die for everyone's sins. Those who will say, "Lord, Lord! I believed in you! I prayed the sinners prayer! I did mighty works in your name! I did what my church told me to do!" will not enter the kingdom. Jesus will say, "Depart from me, I never knew you!" We find in the book of John, chapter 15, Jesus' teachings about Salvation and who may be saved and who he died for on the cross. NT talks about 'believing on' Jesus Christ aka abiding in the teaching of Christ (II John 1:9). But today's believer does not understand what it means to 'believe on' Jesus, they only 'believe in' Jesus. Salvation comes from a transition of 'believing in' to 'believing on' Christ (abiding in the teachings). What is abiding in the teachings?? That is "doing what Christ commands." John 15 - Jesus came to offer salvation to his 'friends'. Who are Jesus' friends? Turn to John 15 again. Those who do what Jesus commands. Didn't Jesus die for everyone's sins and all sins are blotted out (John 3:16)?? No, that is wrongly interpreted by many (even our leaders). Let's turn to John 15 yet again!!! "No greater love hath anyone but that they give their life for their friends". Jesus gave his life for his friends. His friends do what he has commanded. This is abiding in Christ. This is 'believing on' Christ. ~ edit. Adding on about my claim that Believers are not Saved. Once a sinner Seeks God, and Believes to become a Believer, they have still to complete the path. Let's continue down the "rabbit hole" so to speak. Know this, that even Satan and the devils understand and believe Jesus is Christ, the son of God. The Believer must continue on to become a "Disciple" of Christ. The disciple is a person committed to serving and obeying their master. Discipleship was a common social norm of ancient Greece and India and spread through the civilized world more than 2000 years ago. And 2000 years ago, when the "harvest" was ripe, the people understood discipleship; they understood, scripture; they were seeking the truth of God. So when they believed, they were immediately ready for discipleship going directly from believing into the discipleship. There was an ancient ritual of Greece and India for entering the covenant of disciple and master. This was called Baptism. In the early church, when believers were baptized into Christ, they were knowingly entering into covenant with God and Christ. But today (a time when the harvest is not ripe), the people do not understand what baptism is. I say the harvest is not ripe today because the people do not understand scripture, they do not understand what discipleship is, and they do not understand that baptism is a covenant with God. And for the Believer today, they must move forward to the covenant of Baptism and Discipleship which is the church that Jesus came to start. Today, our church leaders only say that baptism is to follow the example of Christ and to do it because he said so. Not that it is about entering into a covenant with God. Our church leaders do not understand because they are still operating under the 'church system' formulated by the Pagan Romans and not under the covenant relationship with God. If you would like to understand the simple Salvation Plan of God, start with the book of John, chapter 15 and your understanding will lead you to the truth if you seek God only and not after denominations or principalities of the world.

Christians must keep on enduring until THE END of their lifetime. MATTHEW 24:13 (King James Bible) "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved" * The END has NOT come yet, so NOBODY is saved. A Christian must remain faithful to Jehovah, throughout their entire life.

Hi Peter. Read 1 Peter chapter 1 and see what God has done and is doing for us in Christ Jesus. In John's second epistle, he is talking about the Christian standing firm in the Truth which is what the Lord taught him, and not being deceived by false teachers and those with the spirit of antichrist. He wanted them to receive their 'full' reward verse 8. We may suffer loss of reward, though we can never lose our salvation. That is not the context of the epistle.

Matthew 28:18-19 An explanation circulated that Roman Catholics indeed wanted to insert their Trinitarian fluence in our Bible. It is said that when Erasmus Mundus was compiling his Greek Text (from which the King James version was translated), the officials of the Catholic Church complained that there was no reference to the Trinity in the Text. Erasmus told them that he had not found any reference to the trinity in the ancient manuscripts and if they could produce one then he would put it in his text. The Roman Church produced a forgery and true to Erasmus's word he put it in the text. Matthew 28:18-19 is the insertion, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not names they are titles. Notice that the text gives reference to a single name. If we go to Luke and read Luke's account of what was said, we read this, Luk 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, Luk 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: Luk 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Erasmus did not Change what was written in Luke; Baptism is for the Remission of sins. If we go to Acts 2:38 Peter faithfully followed the commandment of Jesus and used the name of Jesus Christ in Baptism for the remission of sins. In Acts 4:12 we learn that there is no other name Given by which a man might be saved except the name of Jesus Christ.. How this pans out in Matthew 28 18-19 is that the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is Jesus Christ. The Father is not a person He is an indwelling spirit, we read this in, 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. how can God the father be in the Son as the Son and be a separate entity from the Son. Jesus said, "I and my Father are one." This makes Jesus the incarnation of God Almighty.

Jesus seems to say obey God's commandments you will have life revelation 22:14 confirms this also God says that many times in the old testament it's simple the 10commandments are love God and love others we teach and Do them in Yahshua name we have life
@bibletalktv5 жыл бұрын
The problem, however, is that there is a difference between understanding what we must do (Love God, love others) and actually doing this perfectly since a failure in one part of the Law makes us liable for all of it (James 2:10) and the Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Because of this God offers salvation based on faith in Jesus, not compliance to Law. We, as Christians, now make the effort to love God and others as a witness of our faith, not the condition of our salvation. - MM

Paul was struck down on the road to Damascus and Jesus gave to him the New Covenant. The letters of Paul are to the church.

The gospel that is taught by many people today has been reduced down to just "faith alone". This false gospel of "faith alone" has made following the commandments of Christ null and void. Obeying His commandments have been eliminated from the gospel and have been made subsequent and optional to salvation. Walking in the Spirit has been made optional as well. This false gospel of "faith alone" changes what Jesus said in Matthew 7:14 - For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. By teaching that we do NOT need to keep the commandments(plural) of Christ as the gospel, the saving power of the gospel has been neutralized. The end result is that millions of people have been deceived by the devil into thinking that they are saved. They were taught that "faith alone" saved them apart from them having to keep the commandments of Christ. This has become the devil's masterpiece and has deceived millions of people into thinking they have eternal life in Christ when they actually remain lost.

I agree and disagree here. I agree that Jesus did say to be baptized, but I disagree that it is necessary for salvation. Jesus Told them to get baptized after they were saved not as a requisite that is needed to be saved, but as a sign that they had already got saved. To be baptized was to show a sign that they had already gotten saved.. Salvation is in confession and faith in trusting in Jesus salvation , not in phsysical rituals anymore as the jews had practiced before Jesus came. John 3 "16 say anyone that believes in him shall be saved. In number 4 this preacher here quotes the verse he who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved ;but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned mark 16:6 This says he who has disbelieved shall be condemned , not he who has not been baptized shall be condemned, hence showing that salvation came through faith and not works.

Baptism is not a “work” it is a response of faith just as repentance is not a work, it is a response of faith just as confessing your faith (actually saying the words, I believe Jesus is the Son of God) is not a work but a response of faith that Jesus calls on believers to make to express their faith in Him. The idea that baptism is only a sign to show that you are already forgiven or saved has no passage to support it. However, there are plenty of passages that explain baptism’s role in the process of salvation. Take Acts 2:38 for example where Peter answers the crowd on Pentecost Sunday who asked him what they needed to do in order to be saved. Peter answers, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Note the order here, repent then be baptized (immersed in water) and then you receive two things: forgiveness and the Spirit. If you read down a few verses it says that as a response 3000 people were baptized on that same day. As for Mark 16:16. Of course the one who does not believe will have no need to be baptized because baptism is an expression of faith, faith that this person doesn’t have. Jesus merely explains that the end of those who refuse to believe (and consequently refuse baptism) will be condemnation. - MM

mark 16:16 as you have quoted says it right there that baptism is an expression of faith.

John Chapter 3 teaches unless we are born again we can't enter to Kingdom of God There is a lot of debate over what been born again means some like myself believe Jesus was referring to Water Baptism some don't follow this believe which is OK however Let's look at what Nicodemus would of understood about been born again John 3:9-10 says Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Some translation say a teacher in Israel Jesus is saying how come a teacher like you someone who is so familiar with Jewish custom and practices doesn't understand what I mean when I said born again Nicodemus as a "Teacher in Isreal" should of understood that jesus was referring to Water Baptism The word baptism comes from the Greek word baptizó, which primarily means a thorough change of condition accomplished through immersion. It is written in Bibles to take the place of the Hebrew word tevilah (to totally immerse). This ritual immersion in water is carried out in a mikvah, which is a Hebrew word meaning gathering of waters. For the observant Jew, the mikvah personifies both the womb and the grave and consequently, rebirth. It is regarded as a pure, unadulterated avenue of connection with God. Tevilah (full-body immersion) marks a change of status from being tamay to tahor-ritually unclean (impure or unfit for the presence of God) to ritually clean. This is necessary because anytime a person is to come into the presence of God, they must come tahor (pure) A man who wants to become Jewish must undergo the two main requirements: circumcision and immersion. A woman, however, must only be immersed. When Gentile converts go down into the waters of the mikvah, they leave behind their pagan ways-symbolically dying to their old life-and come up out of the water as a newborn child with an entirely new identity. They are in essence reborn. The Talmud (oral law) states, “When he comes up after his immersion, he is deemed an Israelite in all respects.” (Yevamot 47b) Rabbi Yose says in the Talmud, “One who has become a proselyte is like a child newly born.” (Yevamot 48b) Judaism regards the mikvah as a symbolic expression of rebirth. The mikvah represents the mother’s womb, which is called in Hebrew rechem. This comes from the same root as the Hebrew word for mercy (rahamah). Immersing fully into the waters of the mikvah is like re-entering the womb, the place of mercy; of God’s creative power. Emerging from the mikvah is like being born again. Immersion in a mikvah also represents death and resurrection. A person under water enters a death-like state, like a person descending into a grave. When he comes back out of the water, he comes back to life as a new creation. Paul understood this death and rebirth imagery of the immersion and compared it to the death and resurrection of Jesus Paul also said For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. When we are Baptised we are reborn as Children of Christ we become Christians we become the seed of Abraham and hairs fo the promise given to Abraham and his seed

Luke 3:16, "John answered them saying,'I baptize you with water, but He who is mightier than I is coming...He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Yes we must be baptised to be forgiven, to be saved, to be God's child. Because baptism IS receiving the Holy Spirit and the "fire". The baptism of the Spirit, which is what is what the disciples referred to in Acts 2, is represented by the water baptism. It is so ignorant of a so called pastor to not actually study the word of God and spread heresy like this. Friend, did the man on the cross next to Jesus get water baptised? No. Was He saved? According to Jesus He was. But I guess we'll just ignore the obvious and pretend water saves us 🙃
