The Nabateans actually hired architects from Lycia, Turkey. If you look at the Lycian rock cut tombs, they bare a striking resemblance to the Treasury in Petra. You can actually trace the origins of a building, in any given area, by it's architecture.

Nabateans originate from Yemen and what you see in Petra they built and is all over their country. They are talented builders. As noted in the “ Koran Ad & Thamoud & their mighty towers”. They traveled to Madin Saleh, Ula, Saudi Arabia. In the Koran, Islamic holly book, they are Thamoud and Prophet Saleh was sent to punish them for worshiping idols. From Yemen and via Saudi they would go to Petra to trade with the Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. Frankincense & Murr. Which was used for preyers in pagan times. The reason why Petra survived is that they found a defensible position. The annual raiders coming down from the hills, could not overwhelm them. And that they survived proved that God was with them for a religious perspective. They were very smart, they made a way to survive in time of drought. They did not only build beautiful structures hewn out of the rock, but they engineered their water collection features so that Petra lasted for years. I fell in love with this series a few weeks ago because he does a wonderful job. But it became apparent that Simcha has a cultish interest in these finds - if it is related to his religion, he speaks with a sense of a awe, and his intention is always to prove the Torah right. But it is new testament or Jesus related, the show is filled with relentless jokes, and his intention is to prove that the new testament is wrong. Jesus and the 12 disciples are all Israelites too-so this series is a bit propoganda. Thats fine, it's his show. I speak with love bro - 1) if Yeshua truly did what you said he did, he's a false prophet. Deut 13:1-9, Deut 18:20-22 2) the fact is the death penalty is a very serious thing in Torah. Even Talmudic Jews (and I'm a Hebrew of the Qarayim) take the death penalty *very seriously*. It first requires two or three witnesses that agree that the intentional sin was committed. It then requires those witnesses and the accused appear before the judge of the area, *in the land of promise* - and that last bit is important. The judge then has to agree with the accusations of the witnesses, then and only then would they execute the person per YHWH (who does not change Mal 3:6) commandment. But the apocrypha and even the prophets show the danger of judging too quickly. In one such circumstance that's removed from protestant bibles, the book of Judith - it shows two witnesses conspire against a woman, to say she's been caught in adultery. This is likely where the scribe who inserted that story into John got the idea from. It's not in the oldest manuscripts of John, and was likely paraphrasing the book of Judith and ascribing it to yeshua. But he never said or did any of that, as John himself becomes one witness with no others in the NT agreeing with him on anything. Here's what I'd like you to do. Open up your NT and side by side, open up the tanakh and compare scripture to scripture. You'll see they don't correctly quote the tanakh, even with Christian perversions (like making Almah of Isaiah 7:14 a virgin) they don't line up.

There are other sites around the world where ancient people supposedly carved these structures out of the rock...If you look at it from another view these structures have been buried and subsequently dug out by the surviving generations...A far plausible view...Carving these monuments of of the rock is insanely labor intensive and serves no practical purpose....
