Oh my, this is exactly what the Qur’an says: Verse 82 in Surat al-Hijr: They carved their homes, feeling secure. But the ˹mighty˺ blast overtook them in the morning. They WERE erased, that’s why they’re kind of like forgotten. They were sent a Prophet named Salih from their creator to guide them, but they disobeyed that’s why when they disappeared the people around them knew well and spread this. But today people consider it ‘legend’ because it doesn’t fit their dictionaries. But this really happened.

Did these so-called tombs contain any bodies? Just curious as to what evidence there is that these were tombs. Archeologists still don’t know what the “Treasury” in Petra actually was.
@furtalance_x2 жыл бұрын
According to Islamic scripture these were not tombs but actual dwellings. People did not build these magnificent structures only to bury their dead in. Truthfully these people were gifted with strength to build and lift heavy stones and carve beyond any other nation ever had before them (Nation of Aad was also capable of such structures but all traces of them were wiped out). But these people eventually fell into absolute disobedience of God. Kind of like mad with power sort of thing and thats when God sent his prophet to Guide them but when they shunned him away, eventually they were destroyed by God, but their monuments were left to show to ones who came after what happened to these people so we would repent and know that even the most powerful of us are answerable to God. The Nabateans were from the northern Arabian peninsula who spoke an Ancient form of Arabic, but also spoke a form of Aramaic (Nabatean Aramaic) which was used mostly for trade and writing in the north. Aramaic became the lingua franca of the Levant and Mesopotamia, with many forms and dialects. Famously, Aramaic is often associated Jesus Christ, being his native language. However, his dialect was from Galilee where he grew up, which is a form of Jewish Palestinian Aramaic. Aramaic is still spoken today in the Levant such as Syria, and parts of Mesopotamia and Iran. They are categorised as Western and Eastern Aramaic, one being vastly different from the other.

The other forgotten Petra is simply a metaphor for many MANY beautiful sites or places around the world that can be just as incredible or as beautiful as some of equal but (much) more famous places. This has to do with media coverage, and to my knowledge even just based on the wealth and status of a country. I mean. If France for example didn't have it' golden era 100-400 years ago, and wouldn't still be gliding on this dissipating wave after it's era, and with still loads of media coverage or even just dedicated France magazines, not even closely as many people would know or care about France. In Europe there are a couple of countries with much greater total beauty than France and yet France is the most famous one. For example, my personal most loved country Greece, is gorgeous throughout it's lands as it's extremely diverse. France is 90% the same in flatness and light hills with only some mountains on the borders in the south and south east. And these places are of great beauty no doubt. But Greece is 80% mountainous and is gorgeous everywhere, and even though Greece is growing immensely fast in the amount of tourism, which has the world record for having over 3x more tourists than it's own population, still according to my own knowledge and experiences, most places in Greece of exceptional beauty are unknown or lesser known to the vast majority of the world. And since I have observed this extensively, Im very aware of the world and how the media is having a major impact on what people think.
@skarbuskreska3 жыл бұрын
@@alfsen_3426 Just a question, are you maybe Greek? Because without a doubt Greece is wonderful, but so are many other places in Europe, and it's just on the individual taste of the person if a mountanious region like Greece is "better" in their eyes or maybe flatlands, or a country that has many interesting old medieval towns. France is not boring, it has a rich history, but so do many other places. But when you started your argument, I would have never had Greece in mind, it has lots of tourists. I was rather thinking of places like the Balkan region, or Baltic states, that are barely mentioned.
