@ Divine knowledge - you might have learned how to read but the thing is you relied on your own fallible interpretation of scripture - a conduct that St Peter warned about in 2 Peter 3:16 and also in 2 Peter 1:20. Private interpretation of scriptures has led to thousands and thousands of Protestant sects and denominations. What is funny is that everyone of them claim possession of the Holy Spirit but could not agree in interpretation thus the heinous divisions that ensued.. The fruit of Sola Scriptura is division and conflict. It is unworkable and a self refuting manmade doctrine that made void the Word of God and is not even taught in the Bible. Jesus made a warning about this. By their fruits you will know them (Matthew 7:15-20).

How is the Catholic Church not the one true Church? I mean, Protestantism is relatively new and for the first many years of Christianity, we see only Catholics, did basically all of Christianity go astray? There is zero historical evidence for at least even a few Protestants before Luther, there is no Protestantism until Martin Luther. No mention of sola scriptura or sola fide. So did Christ’s Church go astray for that long? If yes, that sounds like something a Mormon would say. Early Christians who we’re direct disciples of Apostles, like Saint Ignatius of Antioch, spoke of many Catholic doctrines. And the early Church Fathers and every single relic of Early Authentic Christianity we find are Catholic. There was originally One Church, there were a few schisms, and Protestants eventually split off but Christ wanted One Church, One Baptism, etc. And the Bible was also literally compiled by the Catholic Church. The Bible is a bunch of Writings by Inspired Authors, but the Bible Itself does not have an inspired table of contents, or tell us what is Scripture, and the early Christians did not feel the need to keep a Canon, as they mainly relied on Tradition, and word of mouth, and it wasn’t until the Catholic Church had a Council where they used discernment with the Holy Spirit and the liturgical and other Traditions of the Church spread throughout the world, that the Bible Canon was Authoritatively created. And this was the blueprint for the Protestant Canon, although the Protestant Canon takes out some stuff, thanks to Martin Luther, even though Luther has no believed in authority amongst Christians, like Catholics believes the Church Magisterium has. And Luther even tried to get rid of Books like James. So without the Catholic Church, there is no Bible. This is just many of my problems with Protestantism. Another is the fact that there are so many denominations that disagree on important topics such as once saved always saved, infant Baptism, etc. Which are so important, but with the Catholic Church we have an infallible Interpreter to Interpret the Infallible Book. Protestantism doesn’t have that, and so there are so many denominations, and that’s another problem. And I could go on and on.

@@colonalklink14 In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen. 1) In the old testament, you would bring an animal sacrifice to the Lord for the forgiveness of your sins. And both you and the priest would literally eat part of the sacrifice. Your sins where literally transfered unto the animal and thus the animal would have to be killed. This was all literal and not symbolical. Same with the new covenant, it's not a symbol of Jesus, it IS Jesus' most holy blood and body. Except now the sacrifice is our Lord Jesus Christ. ( Leviticus 7: 15, Leviticus 7: 6, Leviticus 6: 1-23, Exodus 29: 30-46) 2) Jesus strongly reiterates 5 times, count them, that we have to Eat his body and drink his blood. He could have said it is a symbol, but no 5 times he says, yup this is exactly what I'm telling you and yeah it's a hard teaching but it's the truth Amen Amén he says. (John 6: 22-71) 3) Throughout the entire bible it is interpreted as LITERAL, in the last supper Jesus says this IS my body which will be given up for you. NOT this is a symbol. He commands us to do it in memory of him. Even Paul in his letter to the Corinthians he recounts as this IS my body and blood and NOT a Symbol. (Corinthians 11: 23-33, Luke 22: 19, Mark 14:22, Mathew 26: 26) 4) The Greek verb used for eating in the bread of life discourse is better translated to "gnawing" or "munching" and not so much eating. Which just emphasizes that this was meant for a literal interpretation rather than symbolic interpretation. It's just a wonderful gift from God. God gave himself so that you would never be alone, so that every step you take is with him. God gave everything, he gave himself so that he can be close to you. He is calling you to him, but it's up to you to decide whether or not to walk away. This is why he says no one can come to him unless granted by God our Father. Thank you Lord for opening our hearts to discussion about you Lord. Thank you for calling us all to you, and thank you for always being with us in so many ways. Please Lord, in accordance with your will, help us all to understand your word better Amen.

Yes, all the scoffers and grumblers who took him literally left after he called for the “chewing” of his flesh and drinking of his blood. His apostles stayed because the realized he must be meaning something other than what it sounded like literally. Jesus is the Word made flesh - we are supposed to “chew” the Word - not literal flesh, which profits nothing. After the scoffers, who took him literally, left, he told his apostles “what I have told you is spirit and truth” - “flesh” = spirit/Word, and “blood” = truth. Chew on the spirit and drink in the truth. Anyone who actually reads all of John knows unequivocally that Jesus did not mean he was going to inhabit bread and wine, and that we must pass that bread and wine thru our digestive tract in order to have eternal life.

Gafild, have you ever actually been in a Catholic church? If you had you couldn't possibly not notice the huge image of Jesus on the cross that is in every Catholic church up front and center. If there are images of Mary they will be off to one side or other. The emphasis in the rosary is on Mary, true, but in the much more important Mass the emphasis is on Jesus and His Body and Blood. Mary is barely mentioned. The rosary is optional. Weekly Mass attendance is required of all Catholics, unless they are sick or have other good reason, and failure to attend is a mortal sin. Yes, in prayer we may go directly to the Father, or to Jesus, or to the Holy Spirit. The Mass is actually one long prayer to God the Father. But we can also ask our friends to pray for us, something Protestants do all the time. If we can ask our friends on earth to pray for us, how much more can we ask the saints, our friends in Heaven, to pray for us? The rich man in the Lazarus/rich parable asked Abraham to pray for him. Jesus Himself talked to Moses and Elijah at His transfiguration.

Mary is not the mother of God. To make a claim that our God had a mother is wrong. To argue that Jesus is God therefore God has a mother won't work for you. Mary "was" special & used of God just as many humans have been. Your religion is good about creating doctrines that are not only sinful in that they are man's doctrines only but they take away from God & our Savior. You give Mary the office of Mediator regardless of how you try & term it to justify it. Same with worship of her, that is exactly what you do. You can't hide from that even if you try & call it veneration. You make idols of her, put candles next to it, offer items, pray to it, you're not fooling anyone but yourselves. Nowhere in scripture do we see Mary being lifted up like y'all do or discussed further. It is your religion alone that does this & created it. Just because of what youbterm as a church that declared something to be true by no means makes it true unless you are a drone that worships an institution like the Roman religion. What you call the one true church has a dark & very evil history, have you ever researched that? Of course not. If you do or have you must ask yourself " how can God be in any of this"? When I looked into it for truth the 1st thing that grabbed me was the many claims it makes of it's begginings that were lies and really tried to uphold by church fathers who what they claimed was not true. I noticed a cut & paste job. Then a look at the vicars of Christvwho you say speaks for God. Ain't no way, no way at all my God could be a part of that. It unfolded from there with all the most hideous dirty laundry possible. If somehow you justify that, well, it's the mass murder of true believers that refused to come onboard with the new religion. *TOP REASONS WHY CATHOLICISM IS TRUE*: 1) it sounds very bizzare that for more than 1500 years that everyone was living in darkness and such a long wait for a man named Martin Luther to come along and bring the Truth out. 2) The Catholic church can trace its origins more than 2000 years in an unbroken line all the way to Peter and hence ultimately to Jesus himself. On the contrary, Protestantism at its best can trace back only 500 years back to Martin Luther in an unbroken line. After that there is a long jump needed from Martin Luther to Jesus. 3) There can only be One Truth & not 30,000 different versions of the Truth. The failure of Protestantism is in the fact that there are soo many denominations with self contradicting beliefs and each one proclaiming to hold the Truth. 4) Looking at even some of the major Protestant groups (Lutherans, Anglicans, Southern-Baptist, Evangelicals) - all of them disagree with each other even on basic beliefs such as Baptism and Salvation. 5) It is true that the Early Church Fathers weren't unanimous regarding everything. HOWEVER, all Early Church Father unanimous agreed on many common doctrines- Infant Baptism, Eucharist, Authority of Bishop of Rome, Mariology etc. There are original writings of more than 90+ Early Church Fathers available that prove this. 6) Either Martin Luther was right OR else he was wrong- it sounds bizzare that he was only partly right & that other reformers had to come along to correct his mistakes. 7) It is impossible for "the Church" to be an invisible Church consisting of believers, because in Matthew 18:16-17 "The Church" is defined as being a physical body on earth which has the Authority to settle disputes. An invisible Church can't settle any such disputes. 8) The Catholic church exists since more than 2000 years despite going through a lot of turmoil, corruption and dark times. There has been people within & outside of the church who has tried to destroy it. But yet the Church is very mich alive today. It is hard to believe this is even possible if it was not God's church. 9) Jesus promised that the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against his Church- it is logical to belive that it is the Catholic church which has prevailed against all evil for more than 2000 years. 10) Encyclopedia Brittanica (most reliable book)- states that Catholicism was founded by Jesus in 33AD and that Peter died in Rome where St.Peters Basillica stands today. 11) The founders of all Protestant churches can be named by anyone as they are mete men. On the contrary, though Protests say Catholicism is man-made, they struggle to name the man who founded it. 12) It requires 8 years study in a Catholic Seminary to be a Catholic Priest. On the contrary, one can be a Protestant Pastor with only 2 years study in a Bible college. 13) Catholic Priests are in general a lot more educated than Protestant Pastors in terms of educational qualifications. 14) There are way too many Ex-Protestant Pastors who have become Catholics as opposed to ex-Catholic Priests who became Protestants (examples include Scott Hahn, Steve Ray, Tim Staples, Keith Nester, Jimmy Akin, Marcus Gordi, Ken Hensley etc.) 15) There are way too many books written by Ex-Pastors who turned Catholic which are Best-Sellers on Amazon and having ratings over 4.8 out of 5 (example include: Rome Sweet Home, Crossing the Tiber, The Fathers Know Best, Evangelical is Not Enough, Born Fundamentalist Born-Again Catholic, The Protestant Dilemma, The Case for Catholicism etc.) 15) Catholicism is the largest Christian denomination. Approximately 65% of Christians in the world are Catholic. And Catholics were the First Christians. 16) Thomas the Apostle travelled to India wihtout even a single New Testament book (the books of the New Testament were written during 52-100AD) and founded the first Church in India in my hometown in 52AD in Palayoor, Kerala (South India). This is a Catholic Church. 17) Before his death in 72AD, Thomas the Apostle founded six churches in India- all are Catholic churches. 18) I come from Kerala , a state in India with 100% literacy. Majority of Kerala Christians are Catholics. Only 6.4% of Kerala Christians are Evangelical Protestants. 19) In my family there have been 4 Catholic priests (3 still alive) whom I know personally well who have studies Theology for more than 8 years to be a Priest. 20) Catholicism requires deep study of History& Theology, most Protestant Pastors take between 4-5 years to study Catholicisim. 21) Only 3 Disciples of Jesus (Matthew, Peter & John) wrote any Scripture at all. And that too they didn't write as if they were summarising each & everything concerning Christian faith. Hence it is obvious that "Bible-Alone" (Sola Scriptura) is wrong! 22) in the first 400 years there was No Bible at all. The Bible as we know today came into being only in 382AD, hence it is IMPOSSIBLE that the Early Christians in the first was living by Bible-Alone. So Sola-Scriptura was IMPOSSIBLE in the first 400 years. God bless!

Unbibilcal? Jesus said that unless you eat my Body and drink my Blood you will not have life within you (Jn 6). At the last Supper He instructed His Apostles to eat the Bread that was His Body and drink from the Cup that contained His blood. In his First Epistle to the Corinthians, Saint Paul recalls the word of Jesus at the Last Supper then tells us when we eat the Bread we partake of His Body and partake of His blood when we drink from the Cup. He also states that if one partakes of the Bread or Cup without discerning the Body and Blood of Christ does damage to himself. This a part of the biblical foundations of the celebration if Mass, which a practice not a doctrine. The rest of the "explanation" sounds like a justification for your own rejection of the greatest gift our Lord has given to us, Himself. The total reliance on the Bible needs some explaining. Since the Canon of the New Testament was codified by the bishops of the Catholic Church in 393 AD, why is there such a reliance on what is believed to be "a false religion"? Since there is no mention of the synagogue in the Old Testament, what was Jesus doing in a synagogue. There is no such thing a building that is called a church in the Bible; why are there protestant churches? Just a few that should be answered.

Coll 2:9-15 , Heb 9:27Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood-to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. Protestants refuse to believe the holy scriptures when Jesus states that his body is real food and his blood true drink. The holy sacrifice of the mass has been around since the last supper. Jesus states unless you eat the flesh and drink his blood you have no life in you! According to St Paul, the bulwark of truth is the church, founded by Christ, which is the holy catholic church. Protestantism was established by rebellious men who refused to believe and accept the authority of the church. Look how protestant denominations are dying, yet the Catholic church is growing, especially the Latin mass. It's sad when protestants are still protesting against the chur h founded by Christ and refuse to believe that Jesus is God and can change bread and wine to his body and blood. Why is a book like Esther Scripture, when it’s never quoted or even alluded to anywhere in the New Testament? While Hebrews 11, which explicitly states in v. 3 that the martyrs mentioned are “attested to” in Scripture, lists the Maccabean martyrs and the martyrdom they suffered in II Maccabees 6-7? The list of martyrs begins with Abel (Genesis) and ends with Zechariah (II Chronicles), listed in traditional Jewish order. The author of Hebrews believed Maccabees was Scripture, if not, why did he reference it in the middle of a list of martyrdoms throughout Scripture? If the author of Hebrews didn’t actually mean that, how do you know and by that same logic why is Esther Scripture? If your answer is “I just believe what the Bible says?”, then might I ask how do you know what books belong in the Bible, under the reasoning that won’t allow II Maccabees? If your response is “Whatever the Church accepts as inspired”, might I ask which Church and when? When was the first time any Church, anywhere ever canonized the books of the Bible and basically said: “This is the Bible. Don’t add to it, don’t take away from it. This is what we Christians believe”? Which Church, under guidance of the Holy Spirit, decided which books went into the Old and New Testaments for the first time? Oh wait, it was the Catholic Church in AD 382 at the Council of Rome! For 1,140 years the 7 deuterocanonical books were believed by all Christians to be inspired until ONE MAN- Martin Luther, decided that they were no longer Scripture (based on, amongst other reasons, the uninspired canon list of Rabbinic Judaism instead of his own Church’s council) and REMOVED them from the Bible. Why? Simple: They didn’t align with his new version of Christian theology. Luther decided that HE himself had the authority to take away those books, started his own Church, and for 500 years “wise” men have been starting their own churches with Luther’s Bible in their pockets. Yet, the Catholic Church is the false Church? Also, Jesus Himself celebrated the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah) in John 10:22-24. Hanukkah, a miracle which happens and is recorded during the so-called “400 years of silence,” is attested to in 1 Macc. 4 and 2 Macc. 10:1-8. Jesus celebrates the holiday, the book is referenced as Scripture, but that’s not good enough? Yet, Esther, is fine? Are you rejecting the “apocrypha” because you actually have reasons or just because Martin Luther said so? God bless🙏

Catholicism diverted from the truth many hundred years ago. In the Catechism, they even removed the 3rd commandment from Exodus 20 "don't make yourself a graven image or bow down to it". Obviously because they intended to do exactly that, and this commandment was a little bit "in the way". This is why Catholic Churches are filled with images and bowing to images. It is what happens, when you remove a commandment and teach that for hundreds of years.

The people ( long after the true disciples) who created most of the teachings of the catholic church had no reference on religion other than paganism, and it shows in the practices of the catholic organization.

If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” 52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?” 53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is [a]food indeed, and My blood is [b]drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven-not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. When Thomas proclaimed "My Lord and my God", the Jews would have called it a blasphemy and superstition because he looked at a man and called him God. They would have said Thomas' concept of God was distorted and childish. The moslems too say that about Christianity. Thomas touched the man Jesus Christ and through the humanity of Christ he could experience the Divinity. When Jesus took the piece of bread and breathed the words "This is my body", it was the word of the eternal Word-made-flesh "through whom all things came into being" (Jn 1:3). By the power of those creative words the bread did become His body, not lifeless, useless corpse; but living and life-giving body. Jesus wouldn't give His beloved disciples useless, lifeless corpse for He Himself said that the flesh is useless without the spirit (Jn 6:63). "The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life" (Jn 6:63). Just as the Father's Word became flesh (Jn 1:14), so also Jesus' Word spoken over the bread became flesh. In the journey through wilderness during Exodus, God was present to them through the instrumentality of the Ark of the Covenant. He strengthened them with bread from heaven. All the OT prefigures and promises are fulfilled in Jesus. He said I am the real manna that came down from heaven. So take and eat all of you. The Eucharist is the new way in which He is present to His people. That is why whenever two or three are gathered in His Name they "Break the Bread" as the Lord had mandated: "Do this in remembrance of me". Blessed are you if you do not see and yet believe. That is why when the Lord met the Emmaus disciples on a Sunday, He took the bread, blessed, broke it and gave it to them and their eyes were opened to recognize Him and HE VANISHED FROM THEIR SIGHT. He was in them and therefore there was not need to see Him. Protestants need to always ask the question: Whom did the Lord say it to? Is it to the common people? or disciples in general? or to the twelve specifically? or to Peter alone? The Lord took the bread, blessed, broke it and gave and said "Do this in remembrance of me" to the 12 apostles. Only they had the mandate to "Do this" Those who have the mandate have the authority to "Do this". If someone without the mandate or the authority says those words, those will only be that person's words. But when the one who has received the mandate says it, it is Jesus' own words pronounced on the bread. In 2 Kings 4, Elisha's authority, symbolized by his staff, is carried by his servant and placed over the dead child's face till he arrives. Moses and Aaron did miracles by their staffs, which were not superstitious objects, but symbols of their authority. That authority is transmitted by our Lord to the twelve, which they in turn transmitted to their successors. Even Judas' office couldn't be left vacant but had to be replaced. Let me conclude with 1 Corinthians 2:14 "Those who are unspiritual do not receive the gifts of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to them, and they are unable to understand them because they are spiritually discerned."

Orlando OSB, Jesus clarified what he meant in v.63 which you misuse. What Jesus is saying is that it is the spirit that gives life, not the flesh as Catholics claim. Jesus said the flesh profits NOTHING. Why is there no account in scripture of any of the apostles saying a mass in the manner the church currently does? I guess the more important question is where does scripture say that ONLY the priest can bring Christ down onto the altar? You can't provide such a scripture which makes this catholic eucharist hoax a lie of Satan. If this is really the body of Christ how is that these wafers are made by some nuns or factory somewhere? Why is that scripture says that NO MAN has ever seen God or that no man can see God. Scripture says that he dwells in a light that can not be approached, that no man has seen or can see. Why does scripture say that NO MAN has seen God and lived? Why does scripture say that Moses was afraid to look up at God? So afraid, scripture says that he trembled. Yet Catholics say they him everyday, every mass? The eucharist as Catholics claim is nowhere in scripture. The eucharist is the only scripture catholics seem to want to take literally. Jesus never taught cannibalism. Your church totally disregards scripture, teaching "another gospel" as Paul said. Catholics are the modern day pharisees who say they believe in God but pervert and make the word of God of no effect because of your traditions. As Jesus said you worship him in vain because you teach as doctrines the traditions of men. False religions say they believe in God and the bible, but it's always God+ this or that. The Mormons and the bible + the book of Mormon, the Jehovah's, it's God + the watch tower, the Catholics believe in the bible plus tradition that they claim is equal to scripture. All these religions have earthly self appointed leaders. These false religions all claim that these added revelations come from God to justify their existence. The catholic church goes a step further saying that it's followers "must believe" or else. Or else you are damned. You are not allowed to question anything. Is this the example the apostle Paul gives. The bereans questioned his teachings and did he damn them? Paul actually commended the bereans because they "searched the scriptures daily" to see if what Paul was teaching was true or not. Imagine that, the bereans questioning an apostle of Christ? But your church says you can't question anything? I wonder why? What's the fear? If these things the church teaches were true, why be concerned over being questioned when it's something the church could verify with scripture. Does the church pronounce anathemas for not believing the bible? I think not. Your church accepts the bible as true. So Why does Trent pronounce over 100 such anathemas? It has always been about power and control with the church. Totally against scripture that says not to Lord it over the flock.

Why did he let Lisbon (most holy city in Europe at the time) crumble to the ground by what would be the biggest Earthquake in earths history in November 1st 1755 on all saints day.. churches were the first to collapse and kill everyone inside. Hours later the Tsunami wipe away whatever was left of Lisbon. estimated 60,000 people died on saints day by a natural disaster.. Read that again.

The papacy is blasphemy for sure! In Galatians 2:2 Paul said “I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who “seemed” influential. Paul was not asking Peter or anyone else for instructions or orders (contrary to what the opponents in Galatia said, and he stated, “even Titus, who was with me, was not forced to be circumcised, though he was a Greek” as 2:3 shows. Paul also shows there was some controversy, but the apostles agreed with him that Gentiles didn’t need to be circumcised. It wasn't accepted well with certain others, which is why certain people from Jerusalem traveled to other church areas and took it upon themselves to demand that other churches conform to their standards, but Paul says, "even Titus, who was with me, was not forced to be circumcised, though he was a Greek” (2:3). Paul plainly says that “because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage” that the controversy arose. These people even claimed to believe that Jesus was the Messiah, but Paul shows they had missed the message, like many do today. These troublemakers wanted the new faith to be just as demanding as the old one. Paul stood against the pressure, not just for the convenience of his people, but for the truth of the gospel, unlike Peter, who caved in and separated himself from the Gentiles when the Jews arrived! Did the leaders tell Paul to add some requirements to his gospel? No! In Galatians 2:6 Paul says, “But of these who "SEEMED TO BE SOMEWHAT," (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who SEEMED TO BE SOMEWHAT in conference added nothing to me.” was aware that the other apostles were influencing in some way, but they WERE NOT ESSENTIAL for his mission, no one, especially they who compromise the gospel, INCLUDING PETER! Peter didn't authority only over all Jewish churches, AT ALL certainly NOT the Gentile church in Galatia. They made an agreement not to meddle in each other’s ministry, but that was broken by Paul’s opponents in Galatia, who were claiming to act with authority from Jerusalem. NO ONE HAD ULTIMATE AUTHORITY BUT GOD! Peter had been living like a Gentile, and he shouldn't have pretended that he didn’t. He had been ignoring the rules that separated Jews from Gentiles, but his change in behavior when the Jews arrived implied it was wrong to be a Gentile. So, in effect, Peter is requiring the Gentile converts at Antioch to adopt a so-called higher standard of Torah observance than he himself would normally follow! NO CHIEF APOSTLE! "Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do” (2:10). Paul had come to help the poor believers in Jerusalem, and his letters show that this continued to be part of his ministry (Romans 15:25-27; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4; 2 Corinthians 8:1-4). So, they agreed: Peter would go to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles. But the plan failed to address one circumstance: what should be done in churches that contained both Jews and Gentiles. There is a spiritual truth in the relationship regarding Saul/Paul who God called a “chosen vessel” and Peter seeing a “great sheet” like a “certain vessel." God CHANGED SAUL'S name to PAUL and there’s an important biblical truth in connection with Peter’s vision of the large and great sheet made of cloth, which matched with Paul’s craft/trade as a maker of large sheets or sails of cloth. Peter, in vision, was seeing the large sheet/cloth sail containing the “unclean, the gentiles” who would also receive the blessings of the Covenant. And PETER, AS USUAL, SAID NO TO THE LORD! God showed him three times, (his denial was three times). Paul, one of the Old Testament Covenant, and trained as a maker of “large sheets/sails,” had been prepared by Christ and recently called to preach to and gather the “gentiles” into the Covenant. So, God tells Peter, “Behold, three men are looking for you. Rise and go down and accompany them WITHOUT HESITATION, FOR I HAVE SENT THEM.” Acts 10 17 shows "Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean" Yet Catholics think Peter was given special wisdom to tell everyone “Doctrinal truths" without error! FASLSE! God used and still uses, many willing people, as he did with the Gentile, Cornelius, to do his work and NO ONE IS AN ULTIMATE SPIRITUAL LEADER WITHOUT INFALLIBILITY! When Ananias was reluctant to go to Saul, the Lord said, “Go thy way: for he is a CHOSEN VESSEL unto me, to BEAR MY NAME before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.” Acts 9:15 So, Paul was the “great and large sheet or sail of cloth” to gather the gentiles, and Catholic lie about Peter doctrine cripples the truth and crumbles under the scrutiny of God’s own Word. YOU willingly blind CATHOLICS DISGRACE THE WORD OF GOD and biblical Truth! Lastly, in Acts 15:14-17" I t is James who gives a speech about Simeon,(NOT SIMON, as in Simon Peter,) but Simeon of Luke 2:25) and James says Simeon “hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.” James is the main speaker in all of this passage, not Peter, as Peter was NOT CHIEF apostle or a priest of anything!

Don't be ridiculous. Research some good apologetics videos on Peter having been given the Keys by Christ and the validity of the Papacy. Furthermore, what did Saint Paul mean, when he wrote to Timothy to "...Neglect not the grace that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with imposition of the hands of the priesthood"! 1 TIMOTHY 4:14. The ONLY WAY anyone can enter the Kingdom of God is to confess who Christ, was Peter and all his apostles and later all the disciples who believed and followed Christ and what HE taught. The Pharisees and lawyers (the so-called religious ones) were religious leaders who were teachers of the law of Moses and should have understood what the prophecies of Christ meant and recognized him. I don't care what Justin Martyr said, I ONLY CARE what God says! 1st Timothy 4:14, which says, "Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery." For one, Presbytery means elders not priests and each one of God's children have gifts, as God's Word shows, and which was prophesied about in the Old Testament about THE GIFTS of the Holy Spirit. In Luke 11:52 Christ says, “Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.” The key of knowledge is the key to heaven and the keys in the entire WORD OF GOD! Matthew chapter18 shows the disciples asking Christ "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." In Matthew 23 Christ had nothing but detest for the Pharisees who sat in Moses' seat because of what all they presented to the people because they added to God's word and "they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders, and that all THIER DONE was for men to see, as broadened broad their phylacteries (which was a small leather box containing Hebrew texts on fine parchment, worn by Jewish men during morning prayer as a reminder to keep the law, and enlarge the borders of their garments, which a pompous display of showing off! They enjoyed the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the praise and greetings they received of men. God WARNED THE PEOPLE STRONGLY " But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren." He also said: "Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. YET YOU CATHOLICS call your "priests" father and call your Pope "Holy Father!" He even said not to be masters: for one is your Master, EVEN Christ. HE CALLED THEM HYPOCRITES because they SHUT UP THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN against men and SAID THEY "neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.! HE SAYS A LOT MORE AND CALLS THEM BLIND GUIDES AND FOOLS AND SERPENTS! These men weren't truly really seeking God! The punishment the the Jews/National Israel received was for the rejection of Jesus after his crucifixion When Jesus was hanging on the cross and said father forgive them they know not what they do . He forgave them for crucifying Him. He forgave them because it was necessary, for without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. However , the second rejection that is unforgivable. This rejection becomes insult to injury and why Judiasm is coud of Christ. It's also why the Catholic Church who thinks Christ is sacrificed again in their blasphemous Mass and Eucharist is blasphemous. It wasn’t bad enough that Jesus had to die on the cross, but to reject him after that,is blaspheming the Holy Ghost. Israel while in the wilderness, with the story of the rock, is the symbolic discription of what later took place on the cross. This was symbolic to mankind‘s treatment of Jesus. God only wanted Moses to strike the Rock the first time and then he was supposed to speak to the rock. Yet in anger he struck the rock the second time! Ex. 17:6 “Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. Smiling the ROCK, who was abd us Christ, the second time, is to reject the gospel and Jesus Christ, the lamb who gave himself ONCE for all!

@@bridgefin ah you again... I think we've had a similar debate before. Eternal life is not for the mortal body, but the spiritual one. The dead in Christ will rise when he returns and only then will they become incorruptible (1 Corinthians 15:52). Death and hell are not thrown into the Lake of Fire until after the second coming. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Those of us who are written in the Lamb's book of life are not appointed to this 2nd death. (Hebrews 9:27-28). Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. To disagree with this is to disagree with the word of God. Be mad at God, not me. Dead people cannot hear you. They are silent in the grave until Christ returns. The only mediator between God and believers on earth is Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5). The deceased, angels, "saints," Virgin Mary etc are not able to reconcile man to God the Father. None of them died for your sins. Only Christ has. Please read your bible.

For by ONE OFFERING, HE hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; AND THEIR SINE AND INIQUITIES I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE. Now where remission of these is, there is NO MORE OFFERING FOR SIN. I SUGGEST YOU RANTING CATHOLICS WHO OPPOSE GOD'S WORD, STUDY WHAT GOD HAS SAID! After all, St. Peter himself said to Jesus "Lord....where else would we go......You have the words of Eternal Life". Now, that is not to say that all Protestant denominations are wrong all of the time....I am not going to be that much of an extremist. Any denomination that believes in the Biblical Fall of the human race, the Trinity of the One true God in Three Persons (Father/Son/Holy Spirit), the Incarnation/Virgin Birth of the Son in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, the shed Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, on the cross, for human salvation, the need for Baptism/spiritual rebirth, and in the teachings of Holy Scripture (though not always 100% literal, and in need of proper interpretation) has at least some share in the faith and the promise that Jesus gave to Peter. But the fullness and completeness of that promise still comes through the Roman Catholic faith. And, even as a Catholic, I have a high opinion of the Assemblies of God, the largest Pentecostal Denomination, having seen and experienced for myself some of the faith and spirituality that at least used to be there...I'm not sure about today, though, as a lot of churches have had to deal with apostasy.

Why pray to Mary she was born into sin like all men. Christ Is the chief high priest without sin. It is him you should direct your prayers to. There should not be any graven image worshiped. Why pray to the dead and for the dead. Jesus tore the veil from top to bottom so now all have access to go to God, you don't have to rely on a priest to God for you. Jesus didn't say you to work to get in heaven for its by grace we are saved by faith not of yourself for it is a gift of God not by works lest any man should boast. You should not have to go through reconciliation Jesus reconciled us to the Father we he died for us and we accepted him as savior so why do you have to be reconciled again, that's like Christ dieing over and over again to do something he did for us one time and one time only. Something is very wrong.

First of all, Blessed Mother never sinned and Christ is God. Christ suffered for us so that we may participate in the perfect sacrifice to God, because God is perfect. Salvation is obtained through the sacraments which were instituted by Christ and merited grace via the torture and death on the cross. I see you get confused with the whole concept of sacraments. Everyone in the Old testament went to Hell, because there was no means to aquire grace, because there was no sacraments. Thus, all sacraments were done by faith(knowing that God would eventually give the sacraments to us) to gain grace. So, when Christ died all those people merited grace and thus were saved. So you read that the people just had faith and became holy. But we live after Christ's death. Therefore, you can obtain grace through the sacraments in matter and form. Christ liberated us by allowing you and me to go straight to heaven and avoid going to Hell. In other words he allowed the separation of the goats and the sheep. And the gates to heaven are narrow while the entrance into Hell is wide open. Also, good thing to note that when I say grace, I mean the increase in sanctity. If you have any specific questions, read St. Thomas Aquinas.

John 1:42 KJB - “ And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A STONE.” - πετρος "συ κληθηση κηφας ο ερμηνευεται πετρος" ROCK is not this word. It is a slightly different Greek word petra - πετρα. And this word petra IS translated as ROCK some 16 times in the New Testament. It is used in such places as “built his house upon A ROCK” (Matthew 7:24), “upon this ROCK I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18), “As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling stone and ROCK of offense: and whosoever believeth ON HIM shall not be ashamed.” (Romans 9:33), “they drank of that spiritual ROCK that followed them; and that ROCK was Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:4) Petra - πετρα - is a large Rock and it refers to Christ or the foundation of a building, while PetrOs is a small rock or a stone, and refers to the apostle Peter. The Lexicons Liddell and Scott’s Greek-English Lexicon 1887 page 557 tells us that this word Petros - πετρος- means: “a piece of rock, A STONE while the word πετρα means A ROCK. Likewise the Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament, by Bauer, Arndt and Gingrich, 1957 on page 660 informs us that the word petra means “ROCK” and that the other word petros means “a STONE”. Notice that in Matthew 16 when the Lord asks the disciples Who He is and Peter responds “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” that Jesus tells him that flesh and blood did not reveal this to him but the Father in heaven did. And then He says: “And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter (petros = a small rock, a stone), and upon THIS ROCK (not “you”, but “this rock” petra - a large rock) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Christ Himself is the Rock; not Peter. “For other foundation can no man lay that that is laid, which is JESUS CHRIST.” 1 Corinthians 3:11 A STONE Agreeing with the King James Bible where Jesus tells Cephas his name means A STONE are Tyndale 1524, Coverdale 1535, The Great Bible 1540, Matthew’s Bible 1549, the Bishops’ Bible 1568, The Geneva Bible 1587, the Beza N.T. 1599, the Mace N.T. 1729, Worsley N.T. 1770, Webster Bible 1833, The Commonly Received Version 1851, The Revised English Bible 1877, Darby 1890, The Clarke N.T. 1913, Lamsa’s translation of the Syriac 1933, the NKJV 1982, KJV 21st Century 1994, The Koster Scriptures 1998, The Third Millennium Bible 1998, God’s First Truth Translation 1999, The Last Days N.T. 1999, The Tomson N.T. 2002, The Complete Apostle’s Bible 2005, The Pickering New Testament 2005, The Mebust Bible 2007, The Christogenea N.T. 2009 and the Jubilee Bible 2010.

May the Lord give you openness to read the Bible without the anti-Catholic prejudice. Why would the Lord use the pronoun "this"? You are Kefa and on THIS kefa I will build my Church. In Aramaic, the language in which Jesus actually said this, "Kefa" is the only word for both. If Peter had nothing to do with this, then it would be pointless for the Lord to change his name from Simon to Kefa. Isn't it obvious that petra is changed to petros simply because a man can't be called petra in Greek? You have pointed out rightly the Biblical quotations about Petra which clearly means "Rock". Where did you get the notion that "Petros" means a small rock? Petros is not an alternative word for rock or stone. It is just a personal name derived from Petra changed by adding a masculine ending. If Peter wasn't the rock on which Christ is going to build His Church, why would He change Simon to Petros? I could give you very clear examples from my native language. I'm not sure if there are similar examples in English. If a pregnant woman wanted her child to be a symbol of peace in this war-torn world she would think of a name related to the "Olive" as the Olive branch indicates peace. If a daughter were to be born she would name her Olivia and if a son were to be born she might call him Oliver. Whether it is Oliver or Olivia, her intention in naming the child is clear: a symbol of peace.

Adam was not born he was created without sin but then sinned. John 2:12 John 2:12 After this, Jesus went down to Capernaum-he, his mother, his brothers, and his disciples-and they remained there for a few days. Was the writer of John a liar? C. could not answer…I Knew something was wrong” If the science teacher is not able to answer some doubt about gravity, that doesn’t make gravity a lie. It’s just that the science teacher is not well versed. “Mary’s sons and daughters” Where does the Bible speak about Mary’s sons and daughters? You and I know that Joseph was not the genetic father of our Lord. But the people didn’t know that. What makes you so sure that the brothers and sisters of Jesus are not cousins? Or other relatives? In Genesis 13:8 Abraham tells his nephew: “Let’s not have any quarrelling between you and me….for we are brothers”. In Mark 6:3 Jesus is called as the son of Mary. James, Joseph, Judas and Simon are not called sons of Mary. They are brothers in the sense of relatives. “You have a religion, I have a Faith” That depends on your definition of religion and faith. James 1:27 says that pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father….” When Paul talks about Law and Faith, the context makes it evident that the contrast for Paul is Jewish religion (Law) Vs Christian religion (Faith in Christ). “Jesus said whoever believe in Me will be saved. He did not say believe in Me and go to purgatory or He would have been lying to the thief on the cross.” For our Lord believing = obeying. John 3:36 “Whoever BELIEVES in the Son has eternal life; whoever DOES NOT OBEY the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him” Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. He did not say believe in me and go to purgatory because He does not want us to go to purgatory. He wants us to live faithful and unblemished lives and to live in the fullness of love and enter paradise. When we purposefully don’t live according to the Word after being cleansed by the Lord, then He gives us time and opportunity to be purged of our uncleanness because nothing unclean can see God. For example 1 Corinthians 3:15 says, “If it (anyone’s work) is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved - even though only as one escaping through the flames.” If the thief on the right side who was cleansed by the Blood of Jesus without any merit of his own except repentance, faith and confession (which too was merely his response to the free unmerited gift of grace that inspired him to see the Truth) afterwards had a chance to live on earth again and messed up so that at the time of his death, his heart was not in the fullness of love, then he would have to be purified even after death so that He can receive pure eternal love in a pure vessel. If the thief had lived long enough he would have heard the warning of Hebrews 6:1-12. He would’ve known that he had to persevere and produce fruits worthy of his calling.

Jesus LITERALLY commands us to "eat his body, drink his blood.". John 6 or the Synoptics' accounts of the Last Supper, or Paul's presentation in 1 Cor 12: 27-31 is not JUST symbolic. The Eucharist symbolizes what it actually is. No Christian who actually was a Christian (and not a matter hating Gnostic) disagreed with this until Berengarius of Tours (died circa 1061). Even if they had split off from the Catholic Church (Nestorians, Copts, Monophysites, Eastern Orthodox) prior to the clarifying doctrine of Transubstantiation was dogmatically proclaimed at the 1215 Third Lateran Council, all Christianity held to the literal and abiding Real Presence of Christ in a validly consecrated Eucharist. The full-out denial of the Real Presence had to wait until Ulrich Zwingli and the Anabaptist Churches post-1517.

Simply put, just because Jesus used a metaphor in one place does not mean he used it in the Eucharist. Jesus did not leave us with his unsupported word. He backed up everything he said by his Resurrection and Ascension along with the other miracles of the Incarnation. In private, Jesus spoke plainly, Mk 4:34. In the Upper Room, just him and the 12. Not only does Jesus not use any of the story forms of parables or anything like "the kingdom is like...", Jesus SIX TIMES confirms his listeners literal understanding of "eat my flesh and drink my blood" The common figurative meaning of that phrase makes Jesus into an idiot in saying "unless to slander or persecute me, you have not my life in you". No symbolic or metaphorical meaning provided by Jesus, the Gospel writers or Paul. Whatever people say, there will always be one true church that suffered for almost two thousand years, compiled the bible and put verses in it, preserved the tombs of the apostles, all the nations visited by the apostles became catholics, Catholic Church remained as the most persecuted church in the world, you know why? Because the Catholic Church isn't of this world, Jesus Christ himself instituted the one and only church the Catholic church through apostles Peter, the first pope of the Catholic Church and the gates of hades shall not hinder it, for almost two thousands years pagan Romans tried to destroy the Catholic Church but instead they were christianized under the Catholic Church, rise of heresies but they are all debunked by the doctors of the church the bishops of the Catholic Church, Islam wanted to destroy the Catholic Church but failed, protestantism tried to destroy the Catholic Church but in the end they were destroyed themselves and now they have 40,000+ protestant churches fighting each other in doctrines and who among them the true church, next Hitler and communism tried to destroy the Catholic Church but where are they? The Catholic church still stands today and continues to fight the modern heresies, the lies imposed by those who didn't know the Catholic faith, and the secularism of this world, long live the True Church of Christ, The true Bride of Christ, the Holy Catholic Apostolic Church established by Jesus Christ Himself through Apostle Peter the First Pope of the Catholic Church!

The Roman Catholic Church is definitely NOT Christian, but idolatrous, promotes idol worship (violates the first one of The Ten Commandments, no other gods before me), and encourages necromancy (promotes communication with the dead). Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Deuteronomy18:10-12 NIV. I was once a Catholic, but turned away from the RCC when I was 18 years old. I've turned away from the RCC for at least TEN reasons. I encourage anyone out there to read Revelation chapter 17 entitled "The Woman on the Beast" as well as chapter 18 entitled "The Fall of Babylon". In them, you'll find A LOT of reasons why the Roman Catholic Church IS NOT a Christian Church. Satan uses the Catholic Church through idolatry mostly. From 538Ad - 1798, there were many church state unions between the RCC and European countries, to go after, track down, and seek to brutally persecute anyone who rejected the authority of the RCC. With that, the RCC is directly responsible for the deaths of at least forty million people in Europe through out the dark ages. (The number one reason why I left the RCC.) I'm now looking to join the Seventh Day Adventist Church, they're "the remnant of her seed" the church that Satan will go to war with in the last days as mentioned in Revelation chapter 12. A lot of the things that are happening now, are some of the things that Jesus mentioned about in Mathew chapter 24.

I'm absolutely amazed at the numbers of people in the clergy who have entered into the clergy strictly for money, And power of course. I am absolutely convinced that the more money a preacher has the less likely he is to be a Christian. Have they no fear? No ! they don't because they don't believe in God. Revelation 11:9 “Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves.” Even the 1823 Encyclopedia Britannica records the time of the 3 1/2 years, “Everything was quiet; every heretic exterminated; and the whole Christian world supinely acquiescing in the enormous absurdities inculpated on them by the Roman Church. The Catholic Church did convene at the Council of Trent to map out a strategy to bring the Protestant Churches back under them, and in fact, to bring the whole world under their control, which included the Jesuit revival of the Futurist view of Revelation that dominates America today through many false prophets. That's how this blasphemous church responded to the Reformation when the Bible was being given to the people. The Council of Trent in the 16th century empowered the Jesuits to bring the Christians, they named "Protestants," back under their control. They didn't and still don't care about Truth or the true gospel of Jesus Christ. They implemented the Inquisition, which is historicl fact, to torture and kill Christians. From that point, the counter-reformation was born when the Jesuits and Popes would cause the kings of the world to persecute the Christian saints, all for power and greed! Revering the Popes, symbolically and spiritually means getting the mark of the beast on your forehead. Obeying the Popes means having the mark in your hand, which represent actions and works of the flesh. The Papal-controlled countries of France and Spain had the mark of the beast on them, as they killed millions of saints, and that also is historical fact! I've researched and studied many years on the history of this demonic run system which presents itself as a church of God but is instead a paganistic church that rose its ugly head out of the old Roman Empire with Popes taking the name of pontifex maximus. from the emperor's title. It means nothing, but a college of lying fake priests.

They are refuting for example, Gnosticism. When studying the early church fathers you need to study them in context, not in isolation. Catholics are taught they can ask saints or Mary to pray for them. According to the Roman Catholic Church, asking saints in heaven for their prayers is no different from asking someone here on earth to pray for us. *The Bible nowhere instructs believers in Christ to pray to anyone other than God. The Bible nowhere encourages, or even mentions, believers asking individuals in heaven for their prayers.* Why, then, do many Catholics pray to Mary and/or saints such as Gertrude, Rita, Sylvester, Vincent, Agnes, etc.? Why do they petition the dead to request their prayers? Catholics view Mary and the saints as “intercessors” before God. They believe that a saint, who is glorified in heaven, has more “direct access” to God than we sinners do from our earthly vantage point. In Catholic thinking, if a saint delivers a prayer to God, it is more effective than our praying to God directly. *This concept is blatantly unbiblical. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we, believers here on earth, have direct access to God and can “approach the throne of grace with confidence.”*

The Papacy is not biblical. The Roman Empire legally recognized Pauline Christianity as a valid religion in 313 AD . Later in that century, in 380 AD, Roman Catholicism became the official religion of the Roman Empire. During the following 1000 years, Catholics were the only people recognized as Christians.
