I have completed my first 6 days of sobriety. I got to a point where I was drinking a box of wine every couple of days, it was crazy! No more! It will be a long hard journey but I know it will pay off in the end. I am done with the hangovers arguments and blackouts, and waking up the next day wondering what I posted on Facebook the night before. This week and especially tonight has been the hardest for me as I was surrounded by people with alcohol in their hand while I was out in the city centre with my friend. I was tempted but I passed the test. My will is strong and I will get through this. If I can survive tonight in my first week of sobriety I can survive anything! It's also my birthday tomorrow so I intend to make it the first day of the rest of my life as a clean and sober man hopefully forever.

Have Said A Prayer for Your dear Dad and yourself Debora x In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🤍🕊
@beingahuman27402 жыл бұрын
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you so much for giving me faith in you. Even though my faith may not always be 100% rock solid, thank you for giving me enough faith to be praying this prayer to you right now. And to be able to imagine you hearing my prayer. Thank you for your gift of forgiveness and of salvation (that is, for saving me), and of eternal life with you in heaven in the life to come after this one. Thank you for giving up your earthly life so that I may be forgiven, and blessed, and know that no matter what happens in this life, or what I do, I always have assurance of my salvation. And confidence that as a sincere follower of you I am saved, by my faith and repentance, and by your grace and forgiveness, from anything I have done, or may do. I pray that you give Debora’s dad, the father of the person that typed this comment, the power to turn away from excessive drinking of alcohol. To turn away from drunkenness. I pray that you take away his desire to drink, and replace it with thoughts of you, and thoughts of living in eternal happiness in heaven. I also pray for the strength to resist any temptations to drink to excess or at all, if that is what I believe is best for him . However even more than how I pray for the strength to resist, I pray that you take away all desire to drink, so that he will have nothing more to resist, but that he will be able to live freely and purely - a sober, pure, and healthy life - far removed from bygone days when he lived very differently to that. Please help him accept that drunkenness is a sin, guide him to repentance of this sin, and ask your forgiveness, in the name and in the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and saviour. I know that, according to your true and holy word in the Bible, by believing in you, confessing, and repenting, he can be forgiven of this sin. Let him learn to think of ethyl alcohol as what it is, a poison. In days gone by, small amounts of it were added to drinking water to disinfect it, in a similar way to how we now add chlorine (another poison) to our drinking water. In modern times of clean, safe, disinfected drinking water (and many other types of liquid refreshments) there is no need for this disinfectant use of alcohol as there was in the days of the Bible. Help to remind him that to deliberately ingest a poison, which will damage his body, is not a natural nor normal thing to do. And that any thoughts he may have adopted from worldly drinking culture which make drinking seem like a normal activity, do not come from you. The Bible says that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and i pray to help him wish to look after it and keep it healthy and pure, so that he may stay closely connected to you all the days of his life. Help him to be remind me that the craving for alcohol is created by drinking alcohol. Drinking does not take away the craving (other than for perhaps a very short time) - drinking is what created the craving in the first place, and keeping on drinking is what keeps the cravings from going away. Stopping drinking does not create cravings for alcohol - it takes the cravings away, sooner or later. Show him how the mind-trick of alcohol makes this appear to be completely backwards to how it really is, and makes him think that drinking will take away cravings for drinking. When the complete and total reverse of this is actually true. It is drinking that creates the cravings for drinking. Help him to realise this, and to patiently wait for any cravings to diminish, and to eventually go away completely - so that he may never have the desire again to become drunk on alcohol. I call upon you, Jesus Christ, my Lord, to set him free from any hold or power drinking has over me , and every other power of darkness that is operating in him. I claim the supernatural authority of the blood of Jesus Christ to release him from this oppression. And to release him from any desires to return to the old ways of living in darkness, distanced from you, and apart from you and your love. I pray these things in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Drinking is the devil. The Lord has opened my eyes to the danger, especially in my own life. In December of 2020- February of 2020 I drank everyday getting so drunk and I also mixed that with edibles(weed gummies) and I almost gave my life to the devil. But God saved me. Then in May 2020, again drinking, I developed a relationship with one of my dads friends. I thought of him as a friend, he did not. And one day we got drunk and he assulted me. Then I didn't drink for a while but I got heavy into smoking and taking edibles and popping pills to relive my pain. Then in August the Father called me and I didn't realize, again in September and I listened. In early October i was assyed again because of drinking. Then October 24 of this year the devil had tempted me and I smoked. Then the next day I repented for all of it and I haven't had a drink since or smoked and God willing, it will remain that way. I hope this helps someone.

Exactly. The wedding at Canaan, the chief celebrant made mention of intoxicating wine. Jesus Christ was wrongly accused of being drunkard and glutton for drinking wine. In the early church people were drunk during communion because they did not discern the Lord's body, consuming excessively and refusing to share with others. The issue is we have all used alcohol in one form of the other. Especially in the form of medication and supplements. It does not make sense for people to criticize something and then consume it. You have to notice the difference between distilled alcohol and undistilled alcohol. The distillation process concentrates the liquid to increase its alcohol by volume. So in the Bible days alcohol percentage could barely go beyond 12%. You would have to drink a lot to get drunk. You would have to drink regularly to become addicted. That applies to beer and wine. However, with distillation you have percentages of 30, 40 50 and 60%. Just a sip would get one drunk.

I never liked extremes of any kind. In the communion, wine was used and it has significance when we think how it has been made.. reminds us of Jesus' body nailed on the cross and his blood... Paul actually recommends Timothy (i think it was him) to drink a little wine because his stomach... so i am sure it was good! Paul himself and in other passages, it is intrinsically and clearly said not to get drunk, which is excess of wine... it does not say do not drink wine. Based on the above, personally, I don't drink wine but a nice glass when eating with friends and/or family and that would be all. I enjoy it, thank God for it and have that measure of wine and that is enough. I have hosted at home people that drink and people that dont at a meal... in my home in such cases, i would have the wine to drink for anyone and not forces on those who don't drink. I have too, been invites to homes where wine was not something that ever entered the house AND that was perfectly fine with me too. It would have been rude and disrespectful of me to bring my bottle of wine to that house just because i wanted to have some wine with the meal!!! 😂😂😂 It calls for us to use common sense. I don't miss it if i dont have it, i can live without it happily. I control it, not the other way around 😊 I never went to a home where there was an addict to alcohol or in the process of detox, but if i were, i would not drink wine or have wine on the table... dont want to be a stone on the way of the recovery process, and it comes from a place of love and respect for the other person.

Alcohol consumption is very specific hence having its own place in scripture. A little here or there isn’t the issue, the real issue is that alcohol is used as a weapon of the enemy. Dulling christian senses and opening them up to things sober-minded people wouldn’t normally do.
@evasccl78462 жыл бұрын
@@charlescharliejpeg It is all about having a sober mind. We need to pray God and ask Him to give us a sober mind, an obedient heart , wisdom and discernment. For some will be alcohol, others food or something else... These people need help from God who can break that, prayer and it helps to have people that are good example and love them, to be encouraging and supportive in the breaking of any adiction. There is a verse in the Bible, Paul's said ( i can only remember in my mother tongue) but it means that although we can do many things, not all things are convenient/edifying and we should not allow ourselves to be controlled by any of those things. I find those verses very motivating to help break anything that has a grip or wants to sneak in to get a hold of me. I am glad you posted your message, as it reminded me how important it is to respond to any sneaky temptation with God's word ❤

@@KM-3111 Well what you are saying is true about drunkiness. I do not know what it feels to be drunk. Trust me having a glass does not push you to have another glass. You are talking of what you have heard. The same can be said of food with excessive sugar and fat. The same can be said of prescribed medication. People get hooked because of excessive use to a point they need to take more to get the same feeling as they first did. This is difference between users of prescribed painkillers and cough syrup and those addicted to leaning. Also, if you are hanging around with drunkards at night, expect to be like them, whether you drink or not.

The difficulty is to find the right measure. The first wonder Jesus did was to turn water into wine. And he drank wine as well, see Mat. 11:19 and Mat. 26:29, promising to drink wine in heaven. So it’s not a sin to drink wine. But if you have difficulties to find the right measure it is better not to drink alkohol.

I struggled with alcohol addiction for two decades and it evolved into opiates because I was so miserable trying to end the misery with another misery thinking I would be able to control a different animal. It just evolved into something worse. After being oppressed with the suffering for so long one night I came home collapse on my knees because I couldn’t take it any longer I thought about suicide every single day of my life. I didn’t met Jesus by reaching out to him and saying if you are really real please come into my life and please help me clean this up if you can. I excepted him that night and asked for forgiveness. I also asked if he could reveal himself because it’s hard for me to believe things I do not see. I’ve never cried so much because all of my guilt and sin weight tremendously down on me instantaneously. The next morning I woke up with so much joy and happiness ever cents. I have so much more purpose in life now. That next day I’ve noticed that my taste in music, movies even the jokes that I used to laugh at everything became petty and nonsensical. I started to listen to worship music I noticed that I couldn’t wait to get home sometimes just so I can read the Bible and pray because I found so much comfort in it. It was like a mini resort but much better because it’s so fulfilling. I’ve never had such fulfillment in my life. I even used to cuss like a sailor and I noticed that dissolved right away and The crazy part was that whenever people cussed around me I started to get really bothered and it made my ears shriek. I can’t see myself doing anything else but serving God for the rest of my life. He has showed me countless miracles ever cents and my faith has been more than solidified. He actually solidifies it every day when I only asked for him to reveal himself once. That’s just the kind of father he is.

Everything this man said is true. But then you ask yourself how do I quit this when you know every single answer in the book points to quit. But with addiction it’s impossible. You can maintain holding off on it but even after years most people relapse. How does one completely dissolve the entire addiction resetting them back to a childhood memory of alcohol. Can it be done? Absolutely. I realize the more genuine a person is with their prayer then for me it seems that the connection is a lot stronger to God. I told him straight up that it is hard for me to believe anything I do not see although I want to believe you are real of course who wouldn’t but it’s nearly impossible unless I keep forcing myself by telling myself you are real. But why can’t I naturally and just genuinely have that in my heart and that would make everything so much easier. After making that prayer I was recently going through five years of intense depression where it led to thinking of suicide every single day. That night that prayer changed my entire course of direction in life. He not only revealed himself to me but the next morning I started to see immediate changes take place like my taste in music movies my interest etc. everything started to immediately change I would lose interest and motivation and nonsensical areas and grow new curiosity and motivation to pursue in areas that I have never thought of even Looking into but suddenly I have the sudden curiosity in areas that help me connect closer to God. For example I am learning about ancient history , Theology in the Bible when I didn’t have any interest in it before suddenly I have this big burst of curiosity in these areas now. And overall it did connect me closer to him as it was helping me build my faith the more I understood who God was the stronger my faith had became. He will definitely heal you if you ask for it genuinely. That is the key to success here is to ask & explain always in great detail while praying with a genuine heart.

We are not Muslims, alcohol is not strictly forbidden, how ever being drunk or under the influence is a sin, in the same way as over eating and becoming a glutton is a sin. All thing are lawful but not all things are helpful, so rather stay away if its a stumbling blok in your life, but when you do anything, do it to the Lord, if you drink wine, it should be done to gladden your heart in a manner to enjoy before the Lord.

And they point to biblical verses like these: Psalm 104:15, Ecclesiastes 9:7, Amos 9:14, Isaiah 55:1. And people say that they can control themselves and stop and not get drunk. And they even drink wine almost every evening during dinner.... Pastor Vlad, help me with some suggestions on how to answer about this correctly. I would be very grateful! God bless you.

It's a sorrow alright ! They ruin everything 😒. They steal your soul and demean your spirit. Ex husband was a mean man. I don't believe a person ever gets over that abuse. In the end August 22 2022 he took his own life.
