I use a twist tie like you can get off of a loaf of bread to keep the gas button from depressing on the lighter.

So many use zip ties, but too damn hard to remove when you need the lighter. Plus the bread tie is reusable.

@@dougbotimer8005 So use cordage with an easy knot to untie for the valve stop. Much more useful than a bag tie,don't you think?

@@dlighted8861 While in general cordage is more useful than a wire, a bread tie is going to be more useful than a similar length of cordage, a couple inches.

Great idea thank you for sharing! You could also roll up a couple of turns of duct tape by itself to have some additional tape at the beginning or at the end.

I had started carrying duct tape on my Bic so this is a good video for me.😃 Yes Gorilla brand tape is no better than original duct tape. Some of dollar store duct tapes are substandard so testing is always necessary. A three inch square of my duct tape loosely wadded up will put out a three inch plus flame for over a minute.

Yes the 100mph tape is just duct tape but od green or dark red.
