Thanks Simon, another belter of a review on the assemble. I was drooling at the TR7 rally, the Tony Pond car is at Gaydon Museum. The car there is probably worth a small fortune now. If I remember also they pushed the V8 further into the bulkhead in order to make it more mid engined and not over the front axles as were the production TR8's. The rest of the review from what you showed was just a delight to see, thank you for bringing this to us, much appreciated.

Some lovely Italian metal there. Iso, Maserati,Alfa Romeo. My favourite car on your video was the Lancia Fulvia which looked epic. As you know I like my German engineered cars but when it comes to styling, the Italians were world beaters. If I were to buy something modern I would go for an Alfa Guilia and keep my fingers crossed on reliability! Thanks for the video. Look forward to the next one Simon.

Thanks Kevin, I was surprised yesterday by the sheer spectrum of cars on display.. the Lancia was lovely, what a brand that was (and hopefully is again one day)

Lights on the Virage are from a VW Scirocco but were also used on a Santana in other regions. That car is the ex Rowan Atkinson Virage.

Thank you for that comment, mystery over. The Virage with the RA connection is interesting to know..

It was lovely, I prefer the pre HE cars like yours, and in white ‘Return if the Saint’ spec it ticks a lot of boxes for me!

I've only ever seen photographs of the Aston Virage. Must be one of the rarer models these days. Nice to see the Blue Bird, I've actually driven a saloon version badged as a Maxima in South East Asia a few decades ago and it actually drove much nicer than I had expected. Wow a Renault 5 Turbo. A turbo rather than a turbo 2 as well. These were the version built to homologate the cars for Motorsport and has aluminium body panels and that crazy dash bod with the instruments set into pods. I've seen a few Turbo 2 and even a maxi at shows but not an original Turbo. That Unpower GT is a great looking car, as is that Fulvia. I've never seen one of those Lagonda in the metal either. The selection of cars at this show was outstanding. I rather like that 309 Goodwood. I always felt the 3 Dr 309 GTI were a good looking car with that wrap around rear glass and four lamps integrated into the front bumper. Sadly still very much overshadow by the 205. How sleek did those Calibre look back in the day. That Defender looks too good to drive. Always nice to see a collection of Lotus models. My favourite being that red Esprit in the background. MK2 Capri a rare sight even without the X pack. A long time since I've seen a Caterham.21. I've never seen a Drophead Bristol before. There is actually a Bristol Coupe featured in my next video. That R16 is gorgeous. They were indeed one if the early hatchback. They do have a reputation for great ride owing to lots of suspension travel. I've never seen a Peugeot 604 either, hadn't seen a 504 until recently. I do love a 70's Maserati. Wow a Z1, another car that I don't think I've physically seen before. I always remember those rotating headlamps in the Opal GT. The Saab Sonnet is another car I've seen in books but never in person. Love the racing Puma, hoping to get my hands on a 1.7 Puma I'm the near future.

Thanks Mark, the mix of cars was amazing this time and well worth the trip. I’d only ever seen a Caterham 21 at the motor show launch and then never again until yesterday. The Aston Martin Virage was (I’m told) owned by Rowan Atkinson. A really decent day and enough content for two videos I think!

Thanks for clearing that up! I'm not sure if the 200L was ever sold in the UK? Great to see one.

@Lot76CARS Yes, it was, not in massive numbers, but there are still a handful of UK ones on the road

A satisfactory Monday morning : Get up, watch this,check emails. Scramble 2025 tickets on sale. Book ticket, make celebratory breakfast. The " Scramble" is becoming my favourite car show. What diversity !. I'm going through a " Citroen appreciation phase". You can keep your Rolls & Bentleys I would prefer to smoke around in that burgundy ( shall we call it Merlot ?) DS instead and look cool instead of like an overpaid 'baller. Thanks for the video. See you in Jan then probably Simon.

Fair point, I think it's a sort of style I've got into but yes I could try just going for it.

I think you do well to always get footage of the cars without people walking through the shot. You also home in on any interesting detail which adds interest. The way you film incorporates a bit of 'teasing' which I personally like but that's imho. I guess you can mix it up but what you put out hits the mark for me.

Caterham 21 failed because it appealed to no one, those that wanted a 7 wanted a 7 and those that wanted a sports car didnt want a car as stiff as a 7 in the 21. It was essentially a 7 with a fibreglass body and almost as compromised.
@Lot76CARS Жыл бұрын
It was a commercial failure, true and the ground breaking Elise was just what the market wanted.. but (to my eyes) it’s a very good looking car and the rarity has an appeal too.
@1183newman Жыл бұрын
@@Lot76CARS Yea no doubt its a pretty car but it was essentially a 7 underneath and drives like a 7.
