I agree with the xc bike > gravel bike thing. I dont think a lot of people have ridden a modern xc bike and realize how good they are.

Depends on case use. On a 80 mile ride that’s 55 miles road and 25 miles dirt/gravel how can you pick an XC bike over gravel? No chance.
@ff2e15 сағат бұрын
@@coralsaddiction4598 Yea I agree with that and I would take a gravel bike to a race like that but in actuality if there was that much road in a gravel ride or race, I'd probably skip it unless it was with friends. A good example for me would be Dust Bowl 100. That's one I'm always going to bring a gravel bike to. There are a a hand full of gravel races in ohio where I'd argue that an XC mtb is actually the better bike.
@coralsaddiction459815 сағат бұрын
@@ff2e it’s just all so terrain dependent. Not just bike choice but also tire width and gearing. Out here in Tahoe area lots of people go with GX AXS mullet setup (road shifters, 40T 1x, MTB gears in the back) on gravel bikes with 45mm+ tires for serious trails

6:11 4:19 I have not ridden anything but the Epic so I cannot speak about other bikes, but I have to say for me the Epic 8 with flight attendant gets better every ride. I also picked up a set of the Control sl team wheels, and they are so much smoother of a ride over the standard control sl wheels. Great video!!

Great video. Always really informative. Wanted to let you know I just put a set of Berd wheels with Schwalbe G-One RS tires on my Trek Checkpoint ALR 5. They are a game changer for me. Took 3 lbs off the bike and are really compliant. Pedal safe

Great work on the channel and videos in 24! I appreciate you guys. Quick question, are you guys having any trouble with the G-One RS 50mm tires holding air and staying seated on rims? I have two sets and have tried them on three different wheel sets and they are always going flat. Thanks.

We are not. That seems super strange to me. Possibly a warranty?

Never had a chance to experience the Flight Attendant. Could you describe in words why it’s so great? I’d love to know.
@lxstunxverse19 сағат бұрын
It's basically forgetting about the suspension lockouts and just focusing on riding. And not only that, the system will always be faster and more precise than you when choosing the different suspension modes. When you start the ride you tend to play with the suspensions lever more often than when you are 2-3hrs in. It's precise and effective, all the time.

@@lxstunxverse Thank you for your feedback...much appreciated. Based on your description, it would come down to how well the Flight Attendant system can reflect my mind to close, open, or half open the damper. It would be great if the FA could infinitely adjust the damper for the optimal setting in any given 1/1000th a second. I am definitely intrigued though.

Could not stand the 29x2.4 Aspens stock on a Blur, they have no shoulder transition and wanted to go Tokyo Drift on many many corners. Have had much better cornering on 2.2 RaceKings and just wish they'd do 2.4s.
@bicyclestation20 сағат бұрын
Honestly I agree. That’s why I stoped using them. The 170 tpi have insane cornering grip in my opinion.

@@bicyclestation I just got my epic 8 pro. don't know what to do without my dreadlocks with the twist lock. I hate foam grips but it seems like my only option to cut the left side down to work with twistlock.

Upgrade your suspension to flight attendant and then you can use the grips again. One of the best benefits about it.

I thought MTB of the year was going to be Epic Evo and gravel bike of the year Epic World Cup. Then would just need to figure out if Epic Hard Tail is a good road bike 🤣
