agree , i was in gear 1 in left and 7 in the back , the guy in shop told me that how it works. But after using the bike i feel there is something wrong with gears and pedaling was hard . and this video really explain it for me right

Bought a 7 speed mountain bike today. Have never rode a geared bicycle before. I watched a bunch of "expert" videos on gear changing before this and they were so indirect and full of jargon that they went straight over my head. You have broken the entire process down into such simple, and easy to understand language. Perfect for beginners like me. Thanks for posting this video. Highly informative.

Thank You SO MUCH. Very recently took up Cycling after 56/57 years; been driving since I was 15 (North of 70 now) and I LOVE IT. Forget "brain fog", what w so many calculations & immediate corrections being made "on the fly". Low impact, but yet high intensity (I "get after it" out there). Belt tightened a notch (soon to be two). Sleep like a baby. Eat like a horse w zero weight gain. Good for "boy parts" (think old man, numerous nocturnal trips to the bathroom). Anyway; going thru a 30+ yr. old Mountain Bike that everything is messed up (free on Craigslist), inc. brake & shifter Levers. "Much obliged" as the old timers used to say.

OMG! THANK YOU !! Finally someone who shows the handlebars! When I'm riding I'm not looking at the sprockets. Everyone else shows how the sprockets work. I don't care how they work because I'm not trying to build a bike, I'm trying to ride one! You just simply showed me what button to push and why. Again, thank you for clear communication.

Ok so hear me out. This video is the most basic, no high quality,fancy equipment video that talks about shifting gears that i have seen in the last two weeks. I’m new to bikes so i don’t understand the shifting yet. Other videos help somewhat but not like this one. I feel like this video broke it down way better than some of the other guys I’ve seen talking about this topic. When i saw the lady in the thumb nail I said to my self, “I bet this lady will be better than the guys”. Sure enough, I was right. Thank you. I will rewatch this video a few times to make sure I get it down.

Thank you I have just watched a dozen videos and this is the first one which has broken it down, so l can understand which gear l need to use! “Experts” usually explain in a way that goes straight over my head - simply giving a strategy of using low numbers together and high numbers together makes sense. You have also explained why l sometimes fail to change between gears. l am off for a ride to try it out!

Hi mate, Thank you for the great tutorial on gearing. I haven't had anything to do with push bike for about 40+ years. My old bike from a kid Had No gears to choose from. The bike that's just been given to me has...27 ...3×9=27 if that is how you work them out??? I'm 60 in a few months and I've gone back to my teens.... I'm repairing a push bike which I haven't done since I was about 14 ...... getting it in good working order again so I can start riding a bike again👍👍🚲 Ambulance to be on speed dail & them on stand by🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Bikes are sure Not as easy as they use to be to work on...... Thank God for KZbin and Wonderful people like yourself that help and re-teach silly old farts like me😀👍👍🚲 Wish me luck...I might need it. At 3:19 in the video you state the left controls the gears in the back but that is incorrect I believe. Right is Rear, isn't it?
