Bicycling Malaga Spain's East Beaches to Rincon de la Victoria (January 20, 2023)

For our winter getaway this year we switched from Arizona to Malaga Spain.
We really enjoyed bicycling along the beaches in the Malaga area. You can go to the east and west of the city center area of Malaga. This ride to the east is a collection of riding on paths and roads. The path through Rincon de la Victoria ends at a bit more than 12 miles from where we started in Malaga. The path along the beaches in Rincon de la Victoria is hard pack dirt and towards the end of the ride, it is more remote and natural. Hello there! We're considering looking at apartments at Rincon de la Victoria for a long-term lease. How was it in winter, were there open cafes & restaurants?

We really enjoyed our 4 weeks in Malaga. The weather was a bit on the cooler side for them mid 50s to mid 60s, with a few days in the 70s. The sun is strong so it definitely feels warmer if you are out of the wind. Our Airbnb apartment was in the old city near the market, and it was a quieter area which can be important on weekends as people are out late partying. All the cafes and restaurants were open and there was lots of shopping. Hope you get to enjoy Malaga this winter and thanks for watching.

Just another quick thought. When we were there (January into February) the beach area in Rincon de la Victoria looked a little sleepy. The restaurants were open but not a huge amount of activity. We were glad we did not stay out there and were in the city itself.

@@RichardMooreAndJulieMoore thanks so much for your feedback here! We're also considering another city (Fuengirola) on the west side of Málaga, which might be livelier than Rincon de la Victoria! We'll compare the two.

​@@ybnz.mit was definitely more lively on the west side. Check our video of riding out that way if you haven't yet. It is more built up and touristy, so it would depend on what you are looking for. I would give the nod to the west side. Another benefit is the local train heads down the west beaches.
