😂😂😂 don’t you see the irony in it. So USA can’t compete with China, there go the free markets out the windows

The USA's mentality in a nutshell. Even when it comes to Africa, they steaI and pretend to be helping us. And when China helps train workers here, or builds hospitals in poorer communities, the USA can't do anything but beIittIe them and claim we're being fooIed. Such a terribIe mindset. History and results show that the west are not good partners, whereas China has helped Africa continuously. And, yes, I know of the Western conspracy theory claiming that they're trying to put African countries in debbt trraps. The reality is that nothing points to this (but it happens all the time with Western and European countries) - what's really happening is China is building a partnership with us, one which is mutually beneficial, and will also gain them allies in another region.

My comment got deIeted for some reason... Anyway, I'll make this one shorter. I agree with you. As an African from a land which has had lots of past dealings with both countries, it is very easy to see who here is the more civilised nation. It is not the USA.

Reminds me of a video I saw talking about all the things that American assembly workers did like putting loose bolts inside of the bumper, etc. before sealing it up so every time they turned hard they would hear a rattling sound to drive them crazy. My parents Chevy Celebrity had something under the dash for years and every time you made a sharp turn you would hear something tumble around inside the dash from the left side of the car to the right side of the car and vice versa. As a child, I remember when my parents bought a brand new Chevy Citation and from the first day of delivery, every time it rained the floormats inside the car would be soaking wet. They took it back to the dealer many times and they kept saying "We don't see any leak. Show us the leak! If you show us where it's leaking, we'll fix it." . I remember for many days my mom rushing outside to go sit in the car while it's raining to try to find where it was leaking but never could find it. Within a few years the entire floor rusted out to the point you put your foot through it and touch the pavement like in the flintstones and they ended up junking the car with less than 1000 miles on it. For the past 20+ years or so since I was old enough to afford my first car, I only buy Japanese cars made in the USA and not from any American car company. No leaks.

Teslas are great cars and sell well in China. US cant compete with Chinese EVs because how can we compete with a company that pays their workers 5 bucks an hour and gives them no benefits or pensions. Also Chinese EVs will not get the 7500 IRA discount, so in reality they would cost more then domestic produced EVs.

As a Chinese, I think this is very stupid. When China found that domestically produced EVs were not good enough, they decided to attract Tesla factories to China because China knows that competition is the best way to help domestically produced EVs improve. I bet that in ten years the global market will be occupied by Chinese EVs. At the same time, American car companies can only survive in the local market, and Americans have to bear higher car prices.

I think the probem is, that American and EU car companies just cannot compete. It's simple as that. Right now they are selling their EVs for insanely expensive and nobody is buying only the richest, but they are so greedy that they refuse to build cheaper ones, because the higher profit margin on the expensive ones. They kept doing this for years now, and while China built a lot cheaper ones and now both US and EU is facing a huge problem. They cannot compete at this price point. So they decided to block China from selling their cars. It's not gonna last, I can already see that. They are beaten, they are refuse to acknowledge it.

Boss just came back from a business trip to Shenzhen. USA will never catch up to China, they are so far ahead, like 20 years ahead in all kinds of technology. You can actually buy a small EV there for - drumroll --- a few thousand dollars! I'm talking about 3-4 grand can get you a basic EV. That's for domestic sales, so the ones for export are like $10K- $15K. As of right now USA and EU and their prices are a giant joke people are being scammed and ripped off. Also Electric scooters, motorcycles, bikes- whatever, they got them all and dirt cheap, a few hundred bucks. They are as easy to buy as a bicycle in Walmart. . BTW, all the cars out of focus behind the journalist lady in Beijing - 85-90% of them are all electric, there are hardly any gasoline cars there now.

Europe also thinking of tariffs on Chinese EV’s. A tsunami of Chinese EV’s hitting Europe’s shores. Many are up to 30% cheaper the European EV’s. Their software platforms and batteries are better than European car as China 10 years ahead of everyone especially with the worlds largest battery manufacturer CATL. Chinese CATL also offers the highest tech batteries without use of colbalt or nickel, LFP batteries. Stellantis bought over a billion dollars of shares Chinese LEAP MOTORS to rebadge to sell in Europe. China building car plants in Mexico like GM and Ford to use NAFTA to skirt under Trump era Chinese car Tariffs. Warren Buffett backed Chinese BYD is a car company that is growing by leaps and bounds.

They can only delay them. I think both USA and EU should just except they have been defeated in the EV market. They are so behind it's not even funny, it's quite pointless trying to sell their over priced EVs. I'm talking about about US, Japanese and European manufacturers. The Chinese have them by the balls. Give it a few years, the only way most people gonna have EVs is that they buy a Chinese EV, because one way or another they gonna be available and buying a BMW or Chevy EV will look even stupid, because of the insane price difference and same quality. China is making billions by each month on EVs already. Watch some trade shows in China, the cars are looking like 20 years from the future. American and Eu cars look like a joke next to them.
