I have installed one but the hose can’t seem to handle being under pressure. The hose gets very rigid and leaks. So I had to add another turn on/off valve to the bidet hose. It is annoying that I have to reach down uncomfortably every time to turn it on and off at the valve. Is there a better solution please?
@stephenmoore89602 жыл бұрын
Interesting you've mentioned this issue pineapple. We too experienced the same problem. I was a little confused why the leak occured as we purchased the gun from Thailand. From what ive seen in Thailand the water pressure is very strong so wasnt expecting the hose to leak. My first solution was to change out the hose for something more studier. I replaced it with the style of hose that normally attaches from water outlet to cistern and didnt have any issues after that. It's a pretty stiff braided hose though. Since moving house our plumber installed a non return valve and tap - so we do the same as you - switch off water to gun when not in use. The hose we use now though is flexible soft plastic - it's never leaked when ive forgotten to turn off water. So that's my recommendation - the soft flexible all plastic hoses.

Gday mate. Yeah, we bought the 'female to female threaded socket/connector' from Bunnings in Sydney about 4 years ago. I would assume they still sell them. Else try 'Reece'. We bought the 't-splitter' in Thailand to allow for 2 outputs of water from the wall - one for the bum gun and one for the cistern. Neither the 'female/female socket' or the 't-splitter' has a valve to prevent any backlow (which has been highlighted by a number of viewers as not meeting Australian standards). All the best mate. G'day mate. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to order off ebay (making sure to order something of a good strong quality that may cost a little more than the plastic options). If you google 'bidet spray bunnings' you will see results for options from Bunnings and ebay. The ebay items come with everything you need - the bidet spray, the hose, plumbers tape, the 't-splitter' etc. So, i reckon if you're in Victoria and can't go to a shop then i suggest e-bay. If you're in another state that allows you to travel to stores physically - then go and 'eye ball' and discuss your requirements with the Bunnings staff. All the best mate. Cheers.

Good morning Amy. Coincidentally we're having an ensuite installed next week. We too just purchased a bidet spray off ebay. As the plumber will be here we've decided to let him fit it as i'm not qualified in that area (and hesitant to advise on such matters) - but i do enjoy handy man activities and saving money. With that caveat out of the way, from my understanding most of the male wall water outlets are going to be the same standard size. To be honest, all i did was (a) turn off water to house, (b) unscrewed the hose connected to wall outlet, (c) placed the t-splitter up against wall outlet to 'eye ball' if same size, (d) took t-splitter into hardware store and tried a variety of sockets till i found the one that fit - i probably had a chat to floor staff also. All the best mate. 🙂👍

Gday Lee and Rattana. Illegal schmeegal i say! 😀 Seriously though, i read some where on the net the illegality perhaps stems from the fact the water pressue in Aus is too high. However that's easily fixed via the splitter - you just dial down the output to the gun. May pose issues though if there's a leak and you need to claim on insurance. Interesting that bunnings can sell an item that's potentially uninstallable. They sure as heck work well and reduce paper usage as you only need a little to dry off. Cheers.

@Wolf Slayer oh wow! That's certainly cost prohibative. 600 bucks minimum cost for the gun and install is huge.
