In this class, we begin learning Raag Malkauns ( राग मालकौंस ). We first learn the notes and then learn a Swarmalika (स्वरमालिका) in this Raag that is set to Teental. Malkauns has five notes Sa, Ga, Ma, Dha and Ni, with Ga, Dha, Ni being komal or flat notes.

About this video series:
In this series of videos, we will learn some of the basics of Hindustani classical music, including the notes (swar), how to practice the notes (swar riyaz), elements of rhythm (taal) and the concept of a raga or raag. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raga)
