Apparently, those service cost increases were unintended as well. According to what I've heard, wages doubled when an extension was added to a service building, and this has now been fixed.

Yup, it was fun to make things work budget wise but the buildings themselves were way too big for the smaller cities being built in the new economy. I was expecting to need mods for smaller buildings, super happy to see them added my CO.

9:40 my old high school from 5 years ago had a rooftop sports court exactly like that! It was in the middle of the city so they didn't have anywhere else to accommodate that need.

I think C:S2 is the pinnacle of listening to your community at the moment, they've seen what everyone loves from the modding community and are implementing it into the main game and stabilizing it, absolutely fantastic, can't wait for the asset library to fill up!

Just remember it is after a disastrous release, calling critics toxic and the second disastrous release, beach properties. I can't complain they fix the game, but my forgiveness for terrible start of the games is still very far away. New assets is nice and needed, but my latest game after economy got stock on 18.000 inhabitants for no reasons, the game is still broken.

The new smaller train stations with just a single line (double-track so both directions) are EXACTLY what was needed! It felt ridiculous just having a station with 6 tracks / 3 lines as the only option to place because it wasn't realistic, not all stations are interchanges for multiple lines, in fact most aren't. So it was really only useful as a town's central station for inter-city trains, you couldn't really build a metropolitan/suburban train system. Now you can.

This is great. Just yesterday I was bemoaning a lack of small buildings. I couldn't get a new city going because the addition of wages meant adding a service building crippled the budget, even when lowering the service to 50%. So this will help - plus, the small schools actually look like the ones I went to, which makes me happy.

I absolutely love this new patch! The urban buildings and their small version are so cool! And I love so much the urban high school, it's beautiful! also the small train station and small bus stops are so useful, I love it!

Love the new schools and bus station! I wonder with the “park editor” if we can actually draw a park area, like you would with a district. How many times have I seen creators like Biffa make their own detailed park but doesn’t give comfort benefits to the people. If we could draw in a park zone and add in assets with benefit values that would be mind blowing!

The small elementary school extension wing is cheaper upkeep per student than the schools are. Not by a lot but I'll take it. The urban is more efficient upkeep than the other two itself but its extra floors are super inefficient.

These surface painter tools are something I've been asking for for ages in CS1 on Xbox. The aprons in the airports DLC kinda do the job, but they're finicky, don't fit everywhere, and it's only one surface. So now I'm even more excited for CS2 finally coming to consoles. :D

Adding in our own surfaces is so great! Now all those severe clashes of grass textures or funky concrete from a building blending into the sidewalk and alley can be adjusted. I really hope more little extras can get dropped here and there to help quality of life of the game.

Played half a year ago using gamepass, but this will probably make me buy the game finally. All the buildings make up the bulk of the building assets I used to download for Skylines 1 after an asset purge and the new surface tools fixes a huge part of my personal detailing issues! :)

utterly fantastic!! Love this patch. As someone who tends to only build smaller towns and villages this is a game changer. My faith in CO has been reinforced (it was never gone to begin with) I hope the dev's, the modders and content creators get all the credit and praise they deserve for the massive amount of work they put into this.

I like the fact they made smaller education buildings and a city version of them. Always felt they were too big the original ones. One thing they should add asap is an already build in anarchy and asset finder. Anarchy in combination with an asset finder would give you so many detailing options.

Well I have to say, they are starting to show some hope for detailing. That has always been one of the most important things of the game for everyone to do their own thing. Otherwise, it's just a generic building game. CS1 offered so much with the modding community plus what the developers did that it gave personalities to cities. Happy to see this coming into the game now!!🤩

These new assets are absolutely lovely ! It's amazing to see possibilities for small country towns. It was akward to have a massive elementary school or police station in a small city of 1000-1500 inhabitants. I'll maybe finally try another city ! Edit: Oh dear... i didn't finished the video but adding a park surface modification... what a briliant idea ! Finally a good use of surface modifier ! Definitely try this soon! Edit2: Maybe missing a possibility to have a smooth surface modification for circles edges, like an "auto-edge following" ? don't know if it's already possible in vanilla or modded version

Great additions and a nice surprise. All I want now is bikes (and everything that comes with them) and an underground/metro cross shaped interchange. Also getting rid of or changing the tile upkeep mechanics would be nice, but at least we have a mod to fix that.

Love that rooftop sports park on the high school. Where I live in Melbourne, my nearest high school that my son will likely go to is a 'vertical' inner-city high school and has the same on its rooftop as well.

There's still a lot to improve on and definitely an indefinite possibilities for new content like this, but this is just the step into the right direction with the game we needed! Id looove to see an option to upgrade subway tunnel stations with more tunnels facing different directions. So that passengers can cross subway lines underground (without traffic jams caused by more than two lines at the same station on the same rails) In case that isnt available already, havent played for a couple of weeks

Those are pickleball courts on the high school rooftop. They look oversized in scale but a nice addition for sure. I’m liking the new building options and being able to upgrade multiple times now.

I'm actually not sure about this update... the whole point of modular assets in the game, 1 type of road (small, med, large) and adding onto it with the upgrade tool, was a good idea. Why do we need 10 roundabout types for different things in the middle or a different material type? That should've been in the upgrade panel or like CS1 where you can grab a tree, hover over the round about and put it inside that way.

While we will never know I wonder if these buildings/addons were meant to be paid DLC? They all fit together well as a theme and they did originally say there would be regular DLC bundles the way Paradox likes it. That being said CO was very good during City Skylines 1 of releasing free assets and features that everyone could enjoy, so maybe that tradition continues? Either way I'm glad we all got this!
